With thirteen older siblings and a horde of cousins, the wild youngling was never alone. Golnaz developed a loud and colorful personality in order to earn attention from their older relatives. They would often risk their life just to be included in their family's antics. Golnaz spent their childhood days learning sorcery and Void Worship from their mother and attempting to learn mundane combat skills from their father. Magic came easily to Golnaz, but they struggled to throw a punch. It was only when a cousin reluctantly taught them how to throw a bola that they learned any such skill. Golnaz often ventured out into the slums surrounding their home. From the unforgiving city, they learned how to spot danger and run from it, they learned never to give their trust easily, and they learned all the different ways a person could be hurt. The slums hardened their heart and thickened their skin, but did not dampen their spirit. ↬┈┈adolescence┈┈↫ As time passed, Golnaz grew a reckless habit of spending more money than they had. They were unable to resist spending an extra regal on gambling, drugs, alcohol, or a pretty trinket from a pawn shop. It came as no surprise that they chose Want as their sire. Their family soon stopped providing financial relief, having limited funds as it was. Golnaz eventually scored a job as a card-dealer in one of the taverns they frequented. Soon, they had taught themselves the right way to sneak a peek at a card and shuffle a deck in a way that would always give them the victory. Still, the money was not enough for Golnaz's tastes, and many patrons had their suspicions. After receiving a painful threat from a particularly burly Kathar who demanded his money back, Golnaz decided skipping town was the best course of action. They quickly packed what they had and said at least a hundred good-byes to their family. Then, they journeyed into the Warpwoods. ↬┈┈adulthood┈┈↫ When Golnaz arrived at the Warpwoods, they were taken in by a cult of Dark Savants who worshipped Eloblina, the Toad Mother. Golnaz spent years living with and adopting their ways. They joined in the cult's rituals and opened themselves to a new philosophy and more acute purpose. Gradually, Golnaz mutated away from their previous self and into a Wyldwarped version. Golnaz steadily rose in the ranks of their cult until they were one of its most trusted members. When news of a war between the Dread and Regalian empires reached their settlement, Golnaz chose to stay in the Warpwoods. The majority of the cult, including its high priest, set off to join the army of the Dread Empire. At the war's end, none of them returned. Golnaz spiraled into a state of extreme mental instability. The woods that were once their home became only memories of the comrades they had lost to time and fate. They needed a change of scenery. So, they left the Warpwoods for the City of Regalia, where a few of their siblings had ended up.
