Hello everyone,
It's your favorite Paradox of Enigmas here! As of late I've been considering an idea in the rp world and I wanted to put it out here to gauge interest should I pursue it down the line. As you all know, in a few months or so, I'd like to attempt once more to get back into the noble community. My interest in the military aspects of Aloria should be familiar to all of you, and in my endless musings I started thinking about private military units used by the noblity. I realized that there are to my knowledge, almost no active noble-based military groups aside from the mercenaries run by the House of Vanetti.

With the release of the Regalian Sellswords Charter found here, establishing a Crown sanctioned military group is easier than ever. Creating a private military opens up new paths for role players all around. It could allow players to really Roleplay out a form of military comeradry and pomp as well as the rank and file missing from the current Tenpenny system used by the official Regalian military.

What I would love to do when I return to the noble world is create a military unit known as the Kriegsfalken, who would serve under a Alt-Regalian family. The group would have a Regalian "Regiment" which would be what players in Regalia would be recruited into. The regiment would have official ranks of Ensign through Major modeling after the provincial volunteer regiments used by real life Great Britain. The regiment would be organized into four companies each headed by a Captain, each company having a specific function (artillary, cavalry, light infantry, and heavy infantry.) Players would contribute to and be present at family-held military events, get special uniform skins, help perform citizen arrests on command of the family, and should war based events occur we may even participate in a few battles if required. So, does anyone like this idea, or is it also a paradox of Roleplay enigmas? ;)

I've read through this idea, and it seems to be almost the same thing as the current mark armies and regalian guard. The only difference is one is a private army, and the other is an actual military force. While I may be biased in this (since I play the Kaisermark Lieutenant-General) I think it would be beneficial to join the group that already exists, and enjoy the benefits of the military.

The Kaisermark has started to implement a trial run of military commands in their mark, so if you were interested in military discipline, you could have one of your characters join in. I'm more that happy to invite non-guard Kaisermark troops into the chat. Just have an approved app and you're good to go. But I would recommend joining the guard if you want to actually have some activity to do in RP.
