No, I am not an expert (if I am, then I don't have the authority to decide whether or not I am). But, I guess I'm as close as you can get without contacting staff.
Thylans came out in the 7th March, 2014 (or, at least, the wiki seems to think that's when the page was released). I got my Thylan character written by the 29th April, 2014, and approved by the 2nd of May, 2014. I was the first approved Thylan ever. I have written a Write Me Lore page that was considered by Ryciera, but I don't know what's happened with it currently. I made a Thylan language with over 1000 words. If you think that makes me worthy enough to distribute information, then by all means, keep reading, but I am not Lore Staff, so don't take what I say as fact.
( Be aware that some of this I have deduced based on the given information and how Thylans are currently. Example being that they are based off of Australian Aboriginals, based on my knowledge of Australian history I believe I can draw this conclusion from it. )
General facts:
- Thylans used to be smaller than Dwarves, but this was changed rather quickly, so they are now the height of Ailor.
- Thylans used to be based off of Thylacines, or Tasmanian Devils. This animal is not part of the Canine genus, so as such cannot be a dog of any kind. This was confusing to some people, so they were changed so they are now based on wolves. They may have been changed back, as the wiki says they are humanoid Thylacines. To be safe, go with wolves.
- They reach around 80 years of age, if I recall correctly.
- Their fur colour can range from light brown to a mahogany colour, with the very rare albino.
General knowledge:
Thylans are very spiritual creatures, believing in a God they call 'Biyanga Burra' (Father of Sky). They do not worship him, however, but instead thank him for what he has done. If you need more insight on this, Google Australian dreamtime stories. Biyanga Burra made the land, sky, sea, everything. The Thylans are thankful to him, and they share a sort of mutual respect. Thylans believe their dead return to the spirit plane, and can be seen at the northern lights. Thylans find their catacombs very sacred.
Thylans are generally peaceful - except to Urs (their sworn enemy!). Thylans enjoy music very much, with their favourite instrument being the Didgeridoo (another reason to suggest they are based on aboriginals). They are very social and accepting of most, if not all other races (bar Ur). Thylans also have no written language - instead relying on cave paintings and word of mouth to distribute their creation stories.
Thylans live in Jorrhildr - a frosty tundra. There is probably limited vegetation, a lot of snow, a few mountains here and there, more snow, a few trees (maybe), and snow.
Pros:
- If you meet another Thylan, chances are 10:1 that you will become friends with them immediately. Extremely social, Thylans will always band together.
- A unique outlook on life - thankful for everything, even your enemies.
- Usually very fit and skillful (having to live in a Tundra takes it's toll).
- Can be menacing if needed. A lot of nobles are scared of Thylans.
- Fun to play as!

Cons:
- Ailor and other Human races are racist toward Thylans. Crimes are more easily committed as you are a Thylan. You get blamed more easily.
- Hard to get support from high-ranking people like nobles - they are generally scared of you or hate you.
- You can't read! Enjoy!
- Not much support for Thylan lore at the moment. Lore staff are generally focused on other things.
If you need any more stuff just let me know! I'll be happy to help out in any way I can.
