"No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells;
Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,—
The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells;
And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

Minister Riftan Vaedra looks onward upon the map of the Regalian Empire and its many neighbors. When he was alone, the darkening memories of his forced tenure as a Vampire remained stricken upon his mind. Knight's Syndrome. Everywhere Riftan looked, he saw crimson shadows- dancing across the edges of his eyes. It made him violent, quick to anger. The thought that a Knight of Bloodcast could be so easily ambushed, pushed to the brink, and harm those he once called kin and friends alike played at his psyche. Then, a messenger comes in, "Your Eminence, look!" Then, a detailed report came in. Following that, another detailed report.

Riftan didn't even send a Diplomat to Nordskag, neither did he even post the draft of the 'Steel-Dawn' decree; it wasn't even processed by Truth yet. Sure, Tyrellande was a political blunder; but to witness the catastrophe, to see that there was information and discussion being /leaked/.. The Knight blinked; and the shadows upon the distant corners of his eyes grew darker, the crimson eyes that beset him with a judgemental tone. Thinking back to what Count von Schwarzkrau said to him, "Dishonor." "Dishonor." The words repeated in his head over and over, pushing the Minister to even further darkness than before. But then the reports of the Vaard gates arrived, and Riftan's eyes widened even larger than before. The roaring anger that grew from underneath the otherwise placid tone of the Knight broke the stoicism. Quickly, his hands swiftly went over to the draft of the 'Steel-Dawn' decree, ripping it up.

Riftan's eyes shifted over to the window, the stress bringing his mind into a catharsis. What dawned on him was not the sun or the moon over the metaphorical horizon, but instead a storm of swords. Like a monsoon of violence; the waves were instead seas of steel, the lightning instead the shrill thunder of gunfire, and the rainwater instead crimson droplets.

War.

The Foreign Ministry makes its first debut and decree within the public eye; for it is within the Ministry's given prerogative to maintain, assert, and establish Regalian interests within both foreign and domestic elements. With the eruption of the Vaard Gates, it is henceforth decided that they must not remain open within Regalian borders. Every second that the Vaard Gates are opened, more and more are Citizens of the Empire threatened, and the overall stability of the Nation is at stake.

Declaration of War
The Regalian Empire -> The Vaard Gates

  • S1. The Regalian Empire henceforth declares war upon the Vaard Gates and the Demonic Host that has left such gates and continues to do so in great numbers.
    • s1(a). The Marshallry shall be called, including the Tenpenny Ministry and its respective forces. Where discussion of tactics and overall identified objectives shall be handled internally.
    • s1(b). All future directives, such as publications or questions, shall be directed instead to the Tenpenny Ministry and other elements in regard to the conflict at hand.
  • S2. At this time, all known Vaard Gates are open in lands outside of the Regalian Archipelago. The Foreign Ministry discourages travel to these specific nations due to potential political conflict.
    • s2(a). Nations that hold opened Vaard Gates shall be approached individually through diplomatic means on how the individual State wishes to proceed.
      • s2(a)(i). If the Demons in question are causing conflict, such as mass murder or situations likewise, this will be taken as consent to enter the Nation out of expedience to resolve the conflict. This only applies to Regalian-aligned States.
      • s2(a)(ii). If the Nation does not wish for Regalian military support, then such situations will be handed case-by-case from the Foreign Ministry.
    • s2(b). All military actions taken by individual parties, due to the state of foreign relations, are recommended to be filtered through the Tenpenny Ministry and the Marshallry upon its validity and applicability within the coming conflict.
  • S3. In accordance with the Ministry of Truth's request, criminals, which have undergone "Somatic Correction" in place of execution, are to enlist and serve in the frontlines of the coming conflict should battle arise.
    • s3(a). Somatically Corrected criminals fall under the respective authority of the Tenpenny Ministry and the Marshallry. The Foreign Ministry recommends that they take the vanguard during military actions.
    • s3(b). Any interference with Somatically Corrected criminals, such as the removal of their treatment-assigned circuits, will be punished severely in accordance with violating High Law.
Signed,
His Eminence Count Riftan Vaedra
Foreign Minister, Bloodcast Knight

THIS DECREE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE MINISTRY OF TRUTH.

Clovis read the documentation on a nearby board to Greygate. He glanced around to see if there was anyone nearby - to which there were a few - and then proclaimed a little loudly. "Glory to the Empire!"

Koulprit SimBerry reads the declaration after having taken a piece away down the street, where she starts to smirk some to herself, pulling a pen from her jacket to encircle the latter half of the declaration, and tuck both back away into her jacket. She looked half angry, half pleased, as though something in the declaration told something profound that only she could read.

Aaliayh Hitherbean's hands shook as she read the paper, her own recall to her time spent in Carrhen coming quickly back to her. A hurried note was made on the copy of the document which she held, all written in a mix of Atalar and Faraddi. The hafling offered no smirk, no laughter, but rather a grave expression that forced her steps to hasten. "I must return to war..."
