Height: 6’2” ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Personality and Abilities ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ Alignment: Chaotic Neutral A mischievous and erratic girl, Fay spends most of her time filling the world with a bit more color. However, she isn't one to fool around when a serious situation arises and can contain her emotions in a time of need. Additionally, if a bigger threat comes along that disrupts her fun, she'll stop at nothing to get revenge. Personality Type: Entertainer (ESFP-A) The Altalar has always been one for flair and flavor in life, doing as much as she can while she can. This is mainly because of her slow childhood, though is also accompanied by her need to socialize. Religion: Faith of Estel (7/10) When she found out what her father really was and why she stood out, the woman took solace in Estel and distracted herself from the dirt in her blood. Her continuous devotion to the deities helped her come to terms with what she was and that no matter how many mutations she put on herself, she would always be the same underneath. ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Weaknesses ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ She is known to have very erratic behavior, similar to a Silven’s. Particularly with more extreme emotions, Faylen experiences dramatic changes to her attitude with little to no trigger. She is quite naive and overconfident. A trait that is common in Altalars, Faylen is quite cocky and accepts almost any challenge with the confidence that she’ll succeed. ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Quirks ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ When happy, she stretches if she’s standing. If she’s sitting, she typically rolls her feet in circles. When anxious or scared, Faylen cracks her knuckles and/or swings her arms back and forth. When concentrating, she bites her tongue and scrunches up her nose. When she’s walking, she takes long strides and sometimes skips, even if she’s in a bad mood. ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Talents/Hobbies ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ Faylen enjoys cooking, even if it isn’t the culinary she studied. She loves to create small dishes and snacks for herself--no, she never really cooked for anyone else and doesn’t plan on it. Her favorite thing to make is her own version of Flatt Brod, which adds a pinch of paprika to the bread and crushed nuts atop the apples. She is quite mischievous and loves to make the world a bit more exciting. The Altalar quite enjoys fooling with people, typically not with the intent of taking anything from them except their time. ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Likes ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ She enjoys plant life and nature, as it is her main proficiency and magic focus. It brings her some peace of mind, which sounds strange for such a chaotic woman as her. Meat-free food, especially when cooked excellently, brings her a lot of joy. Her favorite meal to eat is Pinteel. Mischief and fun, harmless pranks fill most of her free time. Faylen loves simple things that can get a laugh out of everyone involved, such as flipping around furniture when they’re not looking or scaring someone with her familiar. ╭⋟────────────────────────╮ ❁ Dislikes ❁ ╰────────────────────────⋞╯ The Altalar despises religious debate. Any other debate brings her amusement rather than anger, but only when they don’t question her faith. In order to combat this, she fills her life with people who share similar beliefs as her. She cannot stand Void worshipers. Faylen is already very intense and extreme, but when she finds out that someone respects and actively contributes to the power of the Void, it gets her very worked up. Additionally, she has a general disapproval of Kathars. However, this hatred of the dark energy does not extend to diseases like Sanguinism, Werebeast Infection, Silvens, and similar void-related people unless they’re at least one of the two things above. Not necessarily a dislike, but she is allergic to garlic. This is a very limiting thing for her, especially since she loves to cook. When the herb comes into contact with her skin or is consumed, painful hives pop up around the area the garlic touched and, if eaten, causes her to cough and wheeze. They were very popular people in Bressuivre, Ithania; wealthy folk who owned a blossoming wine company. During one of their many parties, Tahleni was led away from the main crowd by a cloaked Mivver vampire, who must have traveled far with the disease. In his drunken state, Grehana didn’t realize he had been bitten and, in true time, would soon become a sanguine himself. Despite this infection, he decided to not be cured due to his secret faith of the Void. To hide this from his wife, he fed himself with citizens from the slums of the city. Four years later, they had their first child. Early Childhood - Faylen Grehana was born on May 5th, 148AC, her Brood traits showing almost immediately. Of course, her mother began to worry and suspected something was up. She searched the whole house for clues, questioned Tahleni, and questioned those at their late-night parties to no avail. So, for the moment, they passed it off as being a genetic mutation. Faylen was a strange child, experiencing intense and sudden mood swings throughout her childhood. Her parents tried to make her happy; putting flowers in her room, singing songs, playing games, but none of it worked when she was at her lowest points. Once she learned both Common and Modern Altalar, the little Grehana immediately took an interest in flora. She ventured to their library to study the life of plants and everything about them, starting her path to becoming a young sorcerer. Her parents were a bit disappointed that she wasn’t trying to follow in their footsteps, but figured she would outgrow it. During her learning of magic, her tutor taught her how to summon her own familiar. This animal took the form of a swift and immediately became the young girl's friend. From that point on, whenever she became sad, the familiar known as Fern always helped her calm down. It quickly turned into a lasting friendship, which worried her parents further. Due to their annoyance with the pet, she usually hid it when at home and let it free when not. Late Childhood - The Altalar always had trouble making friends due to her erratic behavior and strange, red eyes. So, she spent most of her education time studying alone, taking interest in nature sorcery. Eventually, she began to start learning and practicing spells, which her parents found strange but were supportive of. Tahleni began to teach her how to make wine and help them in one of their shops. She further expanded on this talent by getting a job at a higher class bar, where she learned how to serve drinks and make basic meals. Fay spent a lot of time wandering the various forests spread out across Bressuivre. She honed her athletic skills by hopping from trees and dodging the wildlife. Around this time, she taught herself how to use a rapier. She set up some targets in the forests to practice in her free time. It is still her preferred weapon to this day. This all turned for the worst, however, when Gloria was visiting a friend in a poorer townhouse and witnessed her husband feeding. Everything clicked about Faylen’s condition and Tahleni’s odd disappearances and behavior. So, under the cover of a rainy night, she left. Her daughter saw her leave and stalked behind, where she heard her mother tell a guard patrol of what she suspected. Fay’s world seemed to shatter from then on as her father was put on trial. It was discovered that he was, indeed, a sanguine that was assaulting the citizens of the city. And so, he was burned at the stake, mostly to make an example and scene out of this rich man dirtying his own blood. Early Adulthood - The demand for their business plummeted afterward and those in the town began to fear the girl--a corrupt and taboo creation. She became even more isolated as rumors and whispers surrounded her, people theorizing about what she was capable of. Fay had no intention of following in her father’s footsteps and turning to the Void for reassurance--in fact, she did the complete opposite. In order to feel purer and to rid this feeling, she took solace in Estel and prayed every night that the deity would cure her of this madness. Of course, it never happened. It was around this time that the Altalar left, as she wasn’t able to hold down a job in Bressuivre due to her reputation. Her mother stayed to continue to uphold the name of their company whilst Faylen ventured to Regalia. When she arrived, she shared a house with a couple of other people she met during the trip. During this time, she invested more and more of her time into garden care and growing her own produce, which she sold. Alongside this miniature business, the Brood held a couple of jobs as a bartender in various places, which gave her enough money to continue helping them upkeep the house. During this time, one of the only things that kept her sane and not run away was Fern, who, despite not having a soul, was the most understanding. Whenever she broke down, either from anger, sadness, or hysterics, he was there to calm her down. Without him, she may have converted into a Mivver vampire and broken away from Estel. Present Day - Faylen Grehana, now sixty years old, lives a quiet life. She still upholds her faith in Estel and understands that being half-sanguine is not the deity’s fault. She has decided to embrace who she is and to stop being ashamed, though she still feels guilty whenever she drinks blood, especially if it’s from a direct source.
Needed for re-approval. Changed her main weapon focus to a rapier, since I felt it fit better and would be more effective. Changed +15 Lashing Combat to +15 Thin Blades Combat. Replaced the spell "Useless" with "Halting Infestation". This is partly because I felt like I had to force it into roleplay but also because the life story never mentioned learning any chaotic spells. Added a few more descriptions to explain certain physical or mental attributes. Added two sections in the life story about the importance of her familiar in her early years. @Arhbi
