More so than that, this skill of independence manifested itself to bring out stronger characteristics of leadership and vigor in her presentation and assertiveness. Religion: 0/10 Agnostic Birth Fayette Vigneau, at her conception, was not such. She was a nameless egg, stowed away in the bottom of a ship owned by two El-Maraya. These two El-Maraya lived a pleasant life at sea. Shortly after the conception of the mother’s batch of eggs, their ship was raided by those more powerful than them — Sorcerer sailors. Near Ithania, the ship sank once plundered of all its valuables. The maraya eggs were stolen, and unfortunately Fayette’s was the only one to survive the wreckage. The crew took Fayette’s egg and sought to hatch it to raise her as their own. 1-13 As Fayette grew, they didn’t treat her perfectly; however, considering their lifestyle, she did not have it bad. One Altalar sorcerer in particular took a liking to her, and volunteered to raise her the majority of the way. He named her Fayette, influenced by the near Ithanian Lands. The two formed a strong bond. During these times she served mainly to clean up and around, and later on at around age ten she began to undergo combative training. 13-18 As her teenage years came around, she was put to work. She was the youngest crew member, and the fiercest. She was small, witty, and cunning, and therefor valuable to the crew and a prominent member. However, because she knew this, she began to push buttons, seeing what she could get away with. While she was side-tracked with her new-found sass, she didn’t see trouble appearing on the horizon. The Altalar man who had been raising her began acting strange, mumbling nonsense about “the final cycle.” He began to develop unusual mutations, and eventually being deemed void-taunted, he was cast from the ship with a brick tied to his feet set to drown. Here, Fayette found herself without a father-figure in her life anymore at such the young age of 15. Stricken with grief, she ceased her frivolous acts, but such did not go unpunished. She underwent harsh punishment, ranging from physical to emotional now that her father figure was no longer there to protect her. The crew members whipped her into shape, quite literally, and by the end of her teenage years she was known as one of the fiercest members once again. Now taking up the sorcery she learned from the Altalar man as well, she was one of the strongest. 18-30 During these times she served the crew with dignity, and continued to grow her Sorcery. She would goof off only on rare trips to Ithania for wine and good food. Often on these trips she would talk to an Ailor man, who took quite a liking to the spirited El-Maraya girl. She began to feel herself more drawn to the shores of Ithania, and as she neared twenty-six, they set their eyes on each other in an attempt for marriage. They began courting, resulting in Fayette spending less time on the sea and more time in the arms of this Ailor man. This enraged her crew, they slowly seethed as they saw their most prized member slip from their grasp. In the middle of the night, on the bitter end October, they snuck into Fayette and the Ailor’s new home and killed the Ailor in his sleep — right next to Fayette in their bed. Fayette’s hope of marriage was tragically struck down. The crew members took her in with welcome and “kind” arms during her grief and gave her comfort, without her even knowing it was them all along. 30-present The crew decided to travel to Regalia to settle there for housing for a few months. Over the past few years, Fayette had been speculating the prospect of the death of her fiancé. When she recalled the crew killing her “father,” she didn’t put it past them to kill someone else she loved as well. With no fear, she confronted them. When they knew they were finally caught, they realized she could prove to be a real burden. They bound her in her vulnerable state of sleep. Once awoken, she realized she was being attacked, and put up quite the fight. However, she met her watery demise as they, in similar fashion to her father figure, tied a weight to her feet and threw her overboard. There she drowned, in seething rage and an immense overwhelming amount of grief, anger, and sadness. Whilst unconscious, it is hard to say exactly how, but she woke up in sputtering breath, heaving out water from her lungs on the Regalian shores. She is to this day still unaware of how she got saved, but has speculated that one of the crew members defected last minute, diving down to release her from her fettered ball and chain, and brought her to nearby shores on one of the lifeboats. Her goal now as she resides in Regalia is to find the person who saved her. She also has a vendetta out for any and all individuals who call themselves “pirates” or “sailors.”
@fantuinn Made changes to proficiencies with the new update. I might be shelving this char soon but I'm not 100% sure right now
I... changed like... the whole thing. To sum it up: I totally rewrote her backstory, including proficiencies, made her undead (thanks to @MippyMoo for getting me hooked on Undead lore) and added sorcery. Now, I am unsure if sorcery is allowed within Undeadism or not. If not I’ll just put those 12 points somewhere else. But yes... undead maraya go brr @fantuinn
HMMMMM the update came out at such a convenient time... I suppose I’ll shelf this idea and apply for Undeadism in the near future.
You can remove or not play the undead aspect of the character until application for the perm. In the interim the application can be rejected until a time you feel unshelving them or find approval with the concept.
