Normally one going through the woods would find themselves in an environment of peace. One that one could enjoy with the soft rustle of leaves, birds chirping and the crunch of leaves under your feet. At least that's what he thought- as he went through his daily walk through the woods. One that he helped keep safe for a couple of years now, and he was proud of that. Today, however, the wood was not giving him the peace he was hoping for. In fact, it was rather annoying him as all he heard through the normally still woods was - very loud and obnoxious sobbing.

The Hunter already had to change his path a couple of times, trying to track down the seemingly endless crying. Female? Doesn't sound very old, maybe thirteen? He thought as he got closer to the loud crying. This was easier than he thought, as he found the clearing that he was looking for. His deep brown eyes flicked over the scene, indeed a young girl sat there. Her hair was as wild as she looked, brown and curly, skin slightly tanned, hands raised to her face as both tears and - was that blood? Ran down them. The Hunter was decently worried now seeing the blood, he opened down but approached with caution. For all, he knew this could be a Vampire trying to lure him in.

"Hey! You- You alright?! Your bleeding?" He called out, his finger on his sheathed long sword. The young girl's gaze snapped up and now the young man could see that she had very light brown eyes. No threat - yet. He dropped his fingers and moved all the way to her, as she just sat there in shock. He crouched down next to her- believing that she had been attacked but all he could see was slight nicks on her fingers. His eyes drifted to the side to spot a longsword and he put the pieces together. The girl shifted slightly away from him, wiping quickly at her eyes.
"W-Who are you?" She stammered out, clearing confused by this young man who was just clad in all brown, a cloak attached to his clothing. "Fabien... Sorry, I thought you were in danger." He said with a huff leaning back. "Well, I don't need your help." She spat back at him, taking him slightly aback. Fabien blinked lightly at her, a scowl of his own coming back. "Well sorry for caring then geez." The sixteen-year-old stood back up from his crouch stepping back. The girl curled herself back together, wiping her tears away as they spilled out more almost as if she couldn't stop them. Well..what now? Fabien thought to himself, unsure how to help someone who didn't want it. He stood for a little while before shifting to move on.
"W-Wait." And so he stopped, turning back to the young girl. "-Why are you in the woods alone?" She said, a distinctly definite glow in her gaze. He could tell that she wanted him to stay but didn't want him to know that. Carefully he sat himself down, adjusting his cloak. "I was going for a walk, and you were disturbing the peace." He said gruffly, reaching over to pull a handkerchief from his pocket holding it out to her. She eyed him, taking it after a moment. She, however, didn't wipe her tears with it. Instead, she used it to wipe the blood from her fingers. Interesting- likely not going to get that out. "Ok, my turn then. What's a thirteen-year-old doing out here by her-". "Fourteen." The girl broke him off. "Wha-". "I'm fourteen!" She hissed, glaring at him. "Ok ok." Fabien held up his hands in defeat. The girl glanced away from him again. "Sorry.." She said softly after a moment, tears coming back to her eyes. Fabien let out another sigh, eying the girl over again. He just noticed the rosary around her neck. Oh good, she's not a void worshipper. "It's ok.." The girl swallowed and again another silence passed. "Why…" Fabien arched a brow. "Why do wars have to be so- stupid! Why do they have to.." She broke off, stopping a ramble that could only come from the mouth of a young pre-teen. Finally, Fabien understood, she had lost someone. At least he assumed, glancing down at the sword. Yep, that's definitely way too big for her.

"Because they are led by the scum of the earth... Those who are corrupted by disease and infection. Vampires, Werebeasts...Witchbloods, Void Worshippers. All of them. They are responsible for the wars- for the pain that you feel." As Fabien continued his not so factful rant, the young girl's gaze hardened. In her grief, she believed him. "Their infection is the reason why you've lost something, they are to blame for all of it. - But that's why...certain people exist to stop them. To get rid of them." He paused for a moment, gathering up her sword and carefully inspecting it. "You can- help fix that you know. If you learn how to actually use this." The girl shuffled herself together a bit more, her hands fiddling with the handkerchief.
Fabien stood then, taking the sword with him as he moved off. No words had to be spoken anymore as the girl quickly scrambled up the hill to follow the stranger she had just met. Whether it was for the sword he was stealing or because she actually was interested in his offer was unknown to him. But, Fabien still couldn't help but grin to himself. Frederic's going to be happy. "Uh- I never got your name." Fabien threw over his shoulder. Barely hearing the response that was shouted after him.

"Estlin!"

OOC
The dialogue is based on how I fell pre-teens would talk- slightly misunderstanding of how the world actually works and all that- just keep that in mind. Please remember that I'm not an expert on the lore. I'm writing based on how I interpret the school of Darkwald and how Estlin reacted and took to the mindset of it all. (Please don't judge me). But I'm also open to listening to anyone's critiques about how I've written something, just toss me a PM!

Otherwise, this is the start of why Estlin became a Darkwald and why she ended up ran away.

Keep in mind that me separating her from the Darkwald Order was for OOC reasons not to cut myself off from RP since a LOT of Regalia happens to be magical/something that Darkwald's hate. I wanted to give myself more room for stories rather than closing myself off completely from RP. - But now I'm backing up that OOC decision with an IC story. Enjoy and look forward to the next ones, they'll get more interesting as we go.
