This publication marks the first in a series of hopeful documents detailing the work of our newly-formed research institution, dedicated to the tracking, categorization, and understanding of all aspects related to the ongoing Clicker Crisis. Our work is backed and funded by Ser Vhilomir I of House Kade, and utilizes the extensive knowledge-base and equipment of Dr. Jocelyn von Duerr, with continued aid from some of the Empire’s greatest scholarly minds.

On request of Lord Chancellor Louis Delmotte, this and all future experiments will be reviewed by our team and as much information as we deem safe released for public viewing. Individuals with further research they would like to donate, or those with an interest in assisting in our institution moving forwards, are encouraged to write to secretarial director Miss Nadina Haaven. We are constantly on the look-out for responsible critical thinkers, as well as scholarly-minded individuals who wish to lend their services to our cause. (Due to the sensitive nature of our experiments, please note that we will be very selective however).

We here at the Institute hope that this paper delivers a much-needed measure of hope to all those reading, and reassures the citizenry that we are actively making strides towards protecting our beloved Crown Isle and the Regalian Archipelago at large.​

I. SUMMARY OF EXPERIMENT #2: Url Blood;
Understanding the Primal Energies and Biological Components of Url Blood against Clicker samples.

I.I PRIOR KNOWLEDGE:
Prior Laboratory testing confirmed the potency of Url Blood in affecting the deceased tissue/flesh of the Rift-Native entities Eyeball and Clicker (Arm) respectively.

• When a drop of Url Blood is applied to the flesh of a deceased Clicker, it causes the blood to rapidly de-coagulate and appear to ‘bubble’ or ‘sizzle’ for a period of around 3-5 secs, after which the two substances separate and both samples become inert.

Prior Laboratory testing observed the Rift-Native entities of Eyeball and Clicker Arm to possess the curious taste of ‘sand’ and ‘ash’, when tested by the tongue of an Allar.

• Such taste differs from the control of both fresh and rotting Ailor flesh.

I.II EXPERIMENT GOALS:
DIMENSIONAL FUNCTION

• Utilise Clockwork Hardware to better understand the dimensional components of Url Blood.
• Utilise Clockwork Hardware to better understand the Url Physiology (Distinguish between Soul Essence and Primal Essence).
• Utilise Jocelyn Von Duerr to better understand Url Physiology and confirm the source of their Primal Energy.

BIOLOGICAL FUNCTION

• Utilise a Microscope to better understand the biological components of Url Blood.
  • Particular focus on it’s consistency and the presence of any foreign or differing entities when compared to Ailor blood.
• Utilise a Microscope to observe the effects of Vampire Blood when added to Url Blood.
• Utilise a Microscope to observe the effects of Clicker Blood when added to Url Blood.
  • Compare this to the effects of Vampire Blood when added to Url Blood.
• Utilise Alchemical Equipment in order to produce a distilled Url Blood Effect that retains the properties of Anti-Rift.

II. RESULTS​

PART 1: DIMENSIONAL FUNCTION

EXPERIMENT 1.1: Using a Clockwork Visor [White + Green] to detect Soul Essence in an Url.
RESULT: Presence of Soul Essence is consistent with that of Control (Mundane Ailor).

EXPERIMENT 1.2: Using a Clockwork Visor [White + Green] to detect Soul Essence in Url Blood [Freshly drawn].
RESULT: No presence of Soul Essence. Consistent with that of Control.

EXPERIMENT 1.3: Using the Ring of Macai [belonging to Dr. von Duerr] on an Url.
RESULT: All results normal.

EXPERIMENT 1.4: Using a Clockwork Visor [White + Green] to detect Soul Essence in an Url [Gore Form].
RESULT: All results normal.

PART 1 RESULTS: Results of Dimensional Essence in Url is consistent with that of a Mundane Ailor. Likelihood of a Dimensional Component causing the sizzling and separation effect upon Clicker Blood now unlikely.


PART 2: BIOLOGICAL FUNCTION


EXPERIMENT 2.1: Microscopic inspection of Url Blood [Freshly drawn].
RESULT: Inspection of Url Blood underneath a Redstanite & Solacrux Microscope reveals the presence of tiny foreign entities (dubbed ‘sea monkeys’ for ease of reference) swimming with seemingly no aim within the substance. Such entities were not found in either controls of Ailor Blood or Vampire Blood.

EXPERIMENT 2.2: Microscopic inspection of Vampire Blood when added to Url Blood.
RESULT: When a drop of Sanguine-Infected Blood is added to a slide of Url Blood, the two substances can be seen reacting on a microscopic scale. The entities within the Url Blood were observed to rapidly seek out and ‘attack’ the particules within the Vampire Blood, resulting in the production of puffs of purple and white mist. After a period of around 8-10 secs, the purple mist ceased to form and the remaining Url Blood entities returned to passively swimming. It was observed that there were a few casualties of the entities.

EXPERIMENT 2.3: Microscopic inspection of Clicker Blood when added to Url Blood.
RESULT: Results were initially consistent with that of Experiment 2.2. When a droplet of Clicker Blood was added to the slide of Url Blood, the entities rapidly honed in on the particules within the Clicker Blood and resulted in the production of purple and white mist. The reaction was however more violent, resulting in the bubbling/sizzling effect that could be seen with the naked eye. Over the period of around 3-5 secs, the production of purple mist grew more infrequent, and more Url Blood entities appeared to be destroyed. By the sixth second, all Url Blood entities had perished and the Clicker Blood was observed to consume the Url Blood.

EXPERIMENT 2.4 [UNPLANNED]: Microscopic inspection Clicker Blood when added to Url Blood belonging to [REDACTED].
PREFACE: Hematologist Gaulroy Madadh-Howl, a visitor and volunteer on the course, informed the research group of an individual he had been studying which showed to have unusual properties to their blood. He kindly donated a small vial of the aforementioned blood to the experiment.
RESULT: Inspection of [REDACTED]’s blood underneath a microscope showed the presence of more and differently-shaped entities swimming around in the substance. Such results were inconsistent with that of Url Blood previously tested. When a drop of Clicker Blood was added, these additional entities were observed to act more aggressively towards the particules in the Clicker Blood, producing more purple mist in their wake. The reaction lasted for roughly 7-8 secs (3-4 secs longer than control), after which all entities were overwhelmed by the corrupted force and perished.

EXPERIMENT 2.5 [UNPLANNED]: Consumption of Clicker Blood by Hematologist Gaulroy Madadh-Howl.
PREFACE: Such experiment was not given clearance prior to it’s performance.
RESULT: Upon consumption by the Hematologist, Gaulroy Madadh-Howl informed the research group that the components of Clicker Blood were ‘indeed, Void Essence’. Madadh-Howl insists that through his years of research, his stomach has become sensitive to the Void essences present in blood, leading him to use the sense of taste in order to detect it. Roughly 2 minutes later, he expelled the substance violently. Madadh-Howl noted that this did not happen to him when Vampire Blood was consumed, and requested Url Blood in order to lessen the effects of his sickness, which was observed to be successful.

III. CONCLUSION​

• The violent reaction of Url Blood upon Clicker Blood --observable by the naked eye— is not the result of Dimensional Essences present in the Url Blood; but rather a Biological Component of microscopic symbiotic creatures native only to the Blood of an Url. These creatures have the capacity to seek out and destroy corrupt or Void-Essence affected particles when substances are introduced to it.

• While initial testing held promise that Url Blood was able to successfully fight and overcome the essences present in Clicker Blood, microscopic observation has proven that it is in fact not strong enough alone to overwhelm the Dimensional forces present.
• Further testing has shown that while the majority of Url Blood contains only one type of creature, there exists a potential ‘second breed’ of Url (henceforth referred to as ‘Higher Url’) which holds blood specimens capable of holding off the Void Essence for longer. Only a single individual of such a specimen has been found thus far, and the symbiotic entities are yet unable to completely destroy the Clicker Blood.
• Discussions with the Url lead us to believe that the [REDACTED], or the [REDACTED] may hold further information on this so-called species of ‘Higher Url’, their origins, and abilities.

IV. FUTURE PLANNING​

• With the information gained thus far, the Institute plans to speak with two further groups/individuals (left unnamed in this publication for the safety of those involved) who may have more information on the ‘Higher Url’, how they are created, and what makes them capable of combating Void-Essence related entities on a microscopic level.
• Understanding the origin and abilities of these bloodborne creatures may assist us in finding a potential cure for the Void Infestation, or in making combative weapons against the Clickers.
• Additionally, we aim to test a variety of other cleansing methods upon ‘live’ matter directly at the site of the Cathedral Rift, in hopes of finding other potential leads which may bring us closer to a widespread cure, after tests on ‘dead’ matter have proved largely inconclusive.
