From an early age, Elyon showed an interest in nature—particularly the study of rare plants and herbs—and her skill in botany became her defining trait.
Despite the peace and grace of her surroundings, Elyon found herself bound by expectations she could not accept. Her family arranged for her to marry a noble from another prestigious house, an arrogant man she despised. Over time, her resentment festered, and when the marriage was near, Elyon did the unthinkable—she poisoned him, using a lethal plant she had cultivated herself. Overcome with guilt and fear, she fled Lathan, concocting a story about a work-based trip to Regalia to document the local flora and fauna.
