Life Story [Required] Elijah Sidney Callahan is born as the fourth child of Shaun Callahan and Lucy Callahan née Hobbs on the twenty-ninth of July, two-hundred and eighty-two after Cataclysm. As the runt of two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger sister on the way, his early life was filled with maternal neglect and typical sibling bully behaviour. Elijah learned to categorically fit into this lifestyle, with his father taking long trips from their remote town of Tranmere (known for little more than its incessantly dull production of farming product) to the south, towards Pomeroy. Whilst Elijah was company to these laboured trips more than once, his father failed to truly connect with him, and Elijah found himself slipping into idealistic dreams of moving away from home and becoming someone known. Though Elijah continued with a stone mask of perseverance to supply his family, as any Colonial family encouraged for young men, he fostered feelings of doubt, resentment and wanderlust. Tranmere’s insipid, seemingly recurring landscapes did nothing to pin him down, so when the first sign of opportunity came in the form of a Ranger passing through town on his way to Pomeroy proper- Elijah threw himself at Läthai Ievos’ feet. His mother gave some adamant retaliation, though since his birthday of sixteen years was approaching, she relented. Elijah’s father gave simple terms; that Eli didn’t waste the opportunity to learn from the Rangers as he had done with him. With fire stoked and mind alight, Elijah took to these new teachings firmly. He favoured the longsword, learning from his mentor to keep two on his person at all times; instilled in himself the habit of keeping knives in his boots and on his belt, to carve wood and to toss; and the discipline of what he perceived to be a hero. At eighteen years of age, Elijah was tasked with the First Trial at Wolf Keep, and failed miserably. His instructors credited him as overzealous, rushed and disconcerting. Eli had to learn to temper his nature, reserving this fiery nature for when he truly needed it, honing a fine edge and razor senses to his personality. At his second attempt of age nineteen he succeeded, and began his training in earnest. His tenants began to take hold of what he believed; that no cause is just and mighty forever, that freedom is paramount; to break chains wherever he saw them, and to always take coin in exchange. Eli’s Colonial Unionist upbringing began to falter, taking more faith in his code than the religion summoned to him for sixteen years of his life. Elijah now wanders the capital city, in search of his next hunt, bounty or contract. Armed with the knowledge of the order and the fiery spirit within him, he intends to make a name for himself.
