Elias expresses happiness with subtle facial expression, though tends to restrain himself for the sake of etiquette. He enjoys making lighthearted jokes and friendly company with his peers. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? Elias responds, as a rule, very minimally outwardly when faced with fear. Attributed most prominently to his upbringing and ideals, it is unimaginable that he should allow physical signs of cowardice to be observed. It is unthinkable to him that he should allow himself to stoop far enough as to be visibly intimidated. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Elias copes best with stress by seeking the company of others, rather than attempting to bear burdens himself. Though he would not permit himself to directly admit being overwhelmed, he still finds social company to work greatly for relieving his nerves. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Elias views the law and authorities as an extremely important institution responsible with maintaining the civility of any society. He believes in adherence to law and authority with very little exception. However, he is not blind to corruption or incompetence, and believes that there is always room for improvement. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Elias has built a pro-Ailor ideology, something formed in him through his experiences, especially during the Dread War. His need to preserve the old world has brought him to feel negative towards the new. He attempts to not associate with certain races, but being the social man he is, he finds such a policy difficult to maintain. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Elias is an extremely devout follower of the Unionist faith, ultimately inspired to remain in complete worship to the Spirit and the Great Way through a very reverent and pious upbringing. Other religions do not remotely interest him. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Elias is against all occult, a hatred that grew far more intense with age. However, similar to his views regarding other races, does not break composure when coming in contact with the arcane, and understands not all of society shares his negative beliefs. He has become very adept at sensing the overall sentiment of his company, and tends to react in kind. How does your character feel towards their family? Elias grew very close with his direct father and uncles, gaining all inspiration from them, to whom he feels that he owes a great degree of his character. He would do whatever it takes to maintain stability in the aristocratic environments he facilitates. In House Keen, he has put all of his trust in its leadership, expectant of a better future for everyone, once and for all. Family is at the top of his priorities. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Elias is the most proud of all of the friendships he has gained in his life. His extremely extroverted, yet controlled and ‘honorable’ behavior has convinced him that even a smile on a guest’s face is a win overall. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Elias is most motivated by hope for the future, hope where all of his father’s dreams would one day be completed. He sees House Keen as a way to get there and is excited for whatever is to come. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Elias’s main insecurity is his constant fear of not being worthy. Because of a lack of arrogance, he often finds himself thinking that his circumstance has only been achieved through luck, or as a consequence of the actions of far greater men than he. What is your character's biggest fear? Elias’s biggest fear is losing hope in a better future, though such a thing is unimaginable to him. He feels nothing but complete pity for hopeless individuals, and is extremely grateful for the circumstances that have allowed him to maintain his optimism. ━━━━━━━━┛ ✠ ┗━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━┓ ✠ ┏━━━━━━━━ Elias Sigmund Keen, born Elias Sigmund Kasler to Valda and Arnst Kasler within the province Moritzburg on the day of August 3rd during the year 284 AC. Elias found himself to be living under stable conditions. His father worked with the local militia, though with rigorous and continuous labor, the Kasler family in the region was able to afford themselves more and more luxury as the years progressed. Being the heir of his father was something that put a lot of pressure onto him. As a child, he found himself often practicing archery, sword combat, and painting, among other activities. His mother was a very significant figure, caring for him and acting overall as an excellent homemaker. He became quickly accustomed to Alt Regalian as a language, and his father, being Genevaud by birth, ensured the continued heritage of the language in his son, most generally in private settings. Upon reaching adolescence, his father, Arnst, began to dedicate more money into teaching him other crafts, and furthering those he had practiced before. Starting his combat skills early each morning, he was instructed by a tutor on how to use the longsword, including different historical methods in order to make him adept in all concepts. On most middays, his father would take him to the nearest forest and hunt, utilizing this time to create an everlasting bond between the two. While hunting, his father would offer him advice on statesmanship and other leadership positions. His education on the Unionist faith was provided to him at nightfall, allowing Elias to slumber with newly attained teachings on all Holy and Divine. Still, even with the constant never ending schedule, the boy would find time to sneak away and enjoy the company of friends, his social desire evermost important. Considering this, his father, in an effort to keep Elias under his watch, gave him permission to host parties and other retreats in the family’s own Estate. This allowed Elias to fulfill his social needs, while allowing his father to maintain careful supervision. Over this time, dancing became second nature to him. Reaching adulthood, Elias’s father called in his company of mercenaries from Genevaud, housing them in the family’s barracks. This is where he was taught skills in martiallry, a necessary trait in any leader. Through the years of adulthood, he worked stringently with his father to educate himself and to become the man his father dreamt him to be. One day while hunting alone in the forest near the family’s homestead, a courier came to deliver Elias a letter. Returning home to read it, he found that the letter came from a certain Alaric Keen, wishing for Elias to join him in Regalia as a Keen and take on nobility alongside him. Asking his father about who the man was, his father made sure to explain the story of the poor boy who grew up to attain ducal titles. It was his first cousin that had been born in Genevaud, the son of his father’s brother, who had at some point changed his name. Ready to face the world, Elias left Moritzburg to travel to the Holy City, taking on the name and title Lord Elias Sigmund Keen. However after a brief stunt as Keen, Elias would return to his former name as Kasler with his cousin, Alaric, leaving the City.
