• Dominic is currently a shield brother in the vigilant shield. He lives in his own house near the park in the holy city of Regalia. Dominic has been in Regalia for almost three months now.
• Dominic Léon Artiemus was born in 287 AC to Hugo and Isabelle Artiemus. He was the first child to the two, followed by two younger sisters, Amelia and Juliana. They are all a part of the high noble family, House Artiemus.
• He really wants to join the Regalian fleet and assist in the currently ongoing Arloran conflict, though unfortunatly his cousin and patriarch Theodore, doesn't want him to go to war (Understandably)

• Hair Style: Cut short in the back and sides, he keeps it relatively long in the front.

• Dominic has a slim structurally defined face, as he has a strong jaw and chiseled lips. His entire face being slightly ovular, with a rather structured but soft nose and slightly protruding cheek bones. Like normal, Dominic has the very bright blue Artiemus eyes, which tend to be slightly darker than a sharp blue. The eyes commonly make his relaxed expression serious and stern. His hair is dark brown, often cut short in the sides but his hair tends to grow longer in the front. His eyebrow being thick, but slowly gets thinner as they move along to the outside. Dominic is also able to grow a full beard and mustache, but currently keeps it cleanly shaven.
• Dominic is about 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a rather strong build. His weight becoming an average 175 Lbs. His physical shape most likely attained through physical training and helping the workers and commoners that live within the County. Most of his muscle being built in the shoulders, chest, arms and legs. It is not surprising that he has a slight tan skin tone since he spends most of his hours outside helping around the village or lending a hand in the fields. From his day to day work it is only necessary for him to have a good amount of scars. The majority being around his hands, and some up his arms. Dominic has a fair amount of body hair on his chest, arms and legs.
• He most commonly wears blue clothes often trimmed with gold. Many times being decorated with a dark blue color. Symbolizing the Artiemus family colors. Though, sometimes when he is out in the fields he will wear a lighter clothing such as a woollen shirt, a small leather or fabric vest and some dark colored pants, Clothes he would not mind getting ruined or dirty. Dominic also wears a family ring on his pointer finger. The ring is a decently thick band made from a dark iron-like material, with a blue vine like pattern etched into its band. A smaller version of the family crest sitting on top of it.
• Dominic typically talks in a rather relaxed and serious tone, his talking speed is pretty calm and he rarely stumbles over the words, though sometimes he tends to mumble a bit, this mostly happens when he fades away into his own thoughts as he tends to do if he isn't participating actively in the conversation. Dominic has a standard Regalian accent with a couple Ithanian words sometimes added here and there. Dominic also has a tedency to leave out some of the "H's" meaning that words like "here" and "How" would become - 'ere and 'ow

Personality and Abilities (Required)

Personality Traits

• Ambitious: As one who desires to succeed his father and make a name for the House he's a part of, Dominic shows sighs of Ambition from his work as a shield brother to his efforts to represent the house. His goals are laid out and ready to be pursued. Dominic has many plans for the future, buissnes, military, titles, and other stuff down that line. He never has trouble coming up with some exciting idea, wether it be a feast or joining the Regalian fleet. He frequently presents his cousin Theodore with them, they are sometimes greeted with an optimistical comment or a peice of advice yet, some of them are discourgared, some are even shut down immediatly. Dominic tends to put alot of thought and planning into his ideas before presenting them so it can sometimes hurt a bit to have it denied.
• Independent: At a young age, Dominic showed signs of independent attitude. This attitude he earned from his strong intellect and curiosity, He felt like he didn't need others to guide him and would much rather go exploring on his own than be carried by some servant. Being well read and open minded, he would seek to form his own persona, and his own goal. This mostly derived from his ambitious personality. He can deffinetly hold his own in a fight, quickly being able to respond with a strategically efficient counter. Though at times it can make him come out as a bit arrogant and make him seem like he doesn't think they could do the work better than him. Another social weakness for Dominic that can cause alot of greif for the other party.
• Perceptive: Dominic is very keen. He will pick up on small details and things most wouldn't even bat an eye to notice. Noting things down mentally in great detail as he enters a room, or the personality or expressions of an individual he meets for the first time. Dominic developed this ability from his time hunting in the Artiemus lands, having to note the details of the forest, noticing when certain things were out of place if he was tracking something, or if he just had to see through the camoflage of an animal.
• Honest: The young Artiemus is a rather blunt individual. Though honest with his words, it can sometimes seem a bit crude, unrefined, and hurtful, though he never means any actual harm by it. In his mind, he prefers the truth over a light lie. Dominic was always taught by his mother not to lie to her, and it apparently just slipped onto his personality. An example of this would be : Once when Dominic was sitting in the tarvern, having a conversation with a friend and questioned him about his hobbies or job. When his friend answered, Dominic went like "Hm.. That seems kinda pointless." Dominic does however know when to and when not to state his opinion.. For the most part :P
• Adventurous: Dominic is quite the explorer often finding new interests in the nature around him. He likes to check out new locations, travel, and meet new people. A new experience is something he will always welcome as long as it's legal. His adventurous spirit likely came from his very curious and strong mind, always seeking new experiences, knowledge, and challenges. Dominic spent alot of his childhood around the Artiemus lands, exploring the wilderness.
• Thoughtful: The lad is one to often get embroiled in thought. His mind will often dance upon a topic of discussion, thinking it over well before speaking on a matter. He will consider his environment, the people he speaks to, and the topic of discussion carefully. Dominic used to spend alot of his time thinking and daydreaming in his childhood and he can sometimes get carried away and kinda zone out if he isn't concentrating on the conversation, or if he merely doesn't find the topic very intresting.
• Active : Dominic likes to keep himself active and as useful as possible in all situations, unlike many other nobles who likes to have their servants do physically demanding work for them, He might even take it as an insult at times if a person asked if they should do it for him. This trait also leans on his independent personality, preffering to do the work himself at times, rather than having others do it. Even more so if it is important to get it done, it can cause him to have a slight distrust towards other peoples performances unless he knows that they're talented and has seen it first-hand.
• Poetic : Very poetic when it comes to it, Dominic will sometimes spontaniously bring up with a poem, rhyme or a quote he once heard, to best answer the question asked or simply to make his point. Dominic was also taught a bit of poetry during his childhood and schooling, occasionally also quotes from various people of historical importance.
• Suspecious (removed accountable) : The young Artiemus has through his entire childhood rechieved tons of warnings and restrictions from his over protective mother. This had led to Dominic being quite suspecious towards unknown parties. If a person he didn't know walked up to him and started a conversation, his mind would already be working on several diffrent plans of action or possible escape routes just incase. In the meantime, his keen eye and perceptive mind would be examining the intruders facial expression and body language for an form of suspecious activity. This is how he zones out half of the times he does. His suspeciousness can often cause him to forget listening to the other, slipping the conversation and it can bring him into some seriously akward positions aswell as arguments.
• Apolitical : While being able to recognize as know the Regalian political system, he dislikes it as it is one of the greatest obstacle that is stopping Regalia from becoming what it should be. By no means is he blind about politics, and he couln easily take part in it if he wished, but he merely wants no part of such a system.

Strengths

• Endurance: From a young age, Dominic was quite the active child, building himself to withstand much physical effort. As a result, he has an innate sense of endurance. This tends to help when excreting himself in a fight or a physical activity. So while Dominic might not be overwhelmingly strong, he can keep a fight going for alot longer and essentially exhaust his opponent where he will then strike, bombarding his enemy with a series of attacks to completely knock them off their feet.
• Intelligent (Connected Caluclative and Intelligent into one) : The Artiemus, like most in his family, has a well rounded education. Dominic gains this from his mother, who taught him often. As a result, Dominic prides himself on his intellect and likes to use it to dominate a situation. Another aspect could be the combination of his intellect, thoughtful and perceptive personalty, allowing Dominic to deal with difficult matters, with great efficiency and manage a situation to the letter. Dominic would for an example easily be able to fill a conversation or with exciting subjects that he felt the other person was intrested in aswell. And if ever in an argument, Dominic would quickly be able to come with quick, intellectual and valid answears or arguments, being as knowledgable as he is. Although this depends on the subject and whilst he usually tries to keep on arguments that he understands he will sometimes fail to do so, placing him in a very vulnerable position for embarrasment. As one who is knowledgeable on academics, he often manages family finances on the side as a hobby.
• Athletic : Dominic posseses a rather athletic build which provides him with great speed and agility. He is a very good climber and would also do free running in some of the smaller trees and on the roofs as a teen. His good climbing ability and his rather good condination would make it easy for him to explore and his adventrous personality only fueled this need for new and exciting challenges and exploration. He was almost entirely self taught when it came to climbing trees and when performing parkour, he would, as previously mentioned, set challenges for himself such as climbing trees that seemed way too high or making a certain leap from a roof. While it did seem rather reckless and dangerous, Dominic did this with great caution and rarely sustained major injuries. He is currently in a very good shape due to his job with the Vigilant Shield. When combining all of these aspects it is nearly impossible to run from Dominic, his only problem being the heavy weight of his armour when on patrol, limiting his speed and agility significantly.

Weaknesses

• Bad Arm : The boy once aquired a major bone fracture in his wrist and arm during an unfortunate horse accident. His arm was never fully recovered. Forever injured by the accident. However, Dominic never stopped riding, eventhough the injury was a major setback for him and his skills with a weapon. It can sometimes cause a stinging pain in his arm when trying to lift heavy objects or when taking smaller hits that normally would only give a bruise. It will also be more prone to breaking than normal.
• Reckless : Dominic is rather reckless. More often than not he won’t think of the negative repercussions of things. He’s considerably prone to getting in over his head due to this, as he doesn’t really think about that repercussion specifically when he does things. Dominic can often end up in quite unfortunate situations for an example : "A criminal would be resisting arrest and attacking Dominic, Meanwhile Dominic is with another guard, patrolling. Dominic would rush in, thinking that his buddy had his back. More people would then start joining the fight, quickly taking down his guard buddy and surrounding Dominic. At this point he can only rely on his agility to dodge, parry and block the strikes, sometimes getting a stab in as he slowly picked them off one by one, sustaining rather large injuries in the process" Whilst he might be able to survive it there is no guarentee he would even be able to fight them all off.
• Socially clumsy : Dominic can easily misunderstand and be misunderstood when socializing Sometimes he will end up thinking he has come to one agreement with a person, when that person believes something entirely else. Dominic will often over analyze a situation. As a result, he will come off blunt, rude, or crude. This leads to him seeing like a rather judging individual even though he doesn't intend to be. Sometimes he will try and compare one subject to another to make better sense of it. He also had a small tendency of unintentionally challenging people or rivaling them where he doesn't mean to. He constantly tries to keep up with that by researching family businesses and titles as to not step on anyone's toes.

Spoiler: Personaliy and Abilities (Expansion)

• When stressed, or if he just needs to relax after a long tiring day, Dominic likes to go to the park and take a nap in the underbrush, cutting himself off from everything temporarily. Also, when Dominic is nervous, for an example if he was about to hold a speech or read something aloud infront of a crowd, he would start to lick his lips almost frantically causing him to hold alot of unneccisary pauses and can even sometimes knock him out of line, forgetting what he was reading eventhough it is rare to see it come to that.
• Dominic is very skilled when it comes to the making of Kaffee, the boy was taught how to make kaffee his entire childhood by his mother. Something his mother also taught him was playing piano, Dominic also likes to use it as a way of relaxing and relief. He would sometimes stay up at nights when he couldn't sleep, playing the piano till he feel asleep on it. Another ability of his was Archery, while not exactly being a proffesional, he was very skilled since his most family enjoyed hunting for fun and sport.
• He is an Academic meaning he is very good with numbers and very talented when it comes to economy and keeping track of buissnes and marketing. Calculating when the market for certain things arises and falls is something Dominic can easily tell, sometimes just by taking a walk through the market.

Likes​

• Bushes : For some weird reason, Dominic tends to enjoy laying in a bush. He won't do it often or in public, though on a hot summerday when he is alone and chilling he'll find a bush in the sun to lay in. The comfortable Kushyness(??) of the bush reminds him of his early childhood when he would lay in bushes around the Artiemus lands, playing hunter. He also enjoys the company of Yanar.
• Challenges : Dominic loves to be faced with a challenge, wether it's an intellectual challenge or one of combat skill, Dominic is also a bit competetive and he will always strive to do his very best. Sometimes he will even venture out into Regalia in search of new and more challenging tasks to perform, such as climbing huge trees or even houses, or attempting to sprint and freerun his way through the park at twenty seconds or less. He also enjoys to have his mind tested by a game of wits, or attempting to calculate and forsee certain outcomes of so-called "Political Warfare".
• Reptiles : Dominic always had a facination with the Chrysant wars and with it the Naylar. He started to do some research on the various diffrent species and sub types of Naylar, and he soon realized he had developed a facination for these strange and foreign people. And not just the Naylar but also most other amphebians and reptiles. Dominic can sometimes be found in the park in search of small lizards and snakes.
  
  Dislikes

• Vampires : Dominic has a serious distaste of the sanguine curse, not neccisarily the people infected, but rather the sickness itself. This is mainly due to all of the terrible stories and things he have heard and seen it do to people but also the way that it corrupts the mind and encourages "Uneccisary Violence"
• Losing : Dominic hates to lose, not in the way that he is a sore loser but more that he feels he let his family down, he always tries to make use of his full potential, and losing can sometimes knock him a bit down and have him feel like he isn't good enough. This can both be a good source of motivation, or a good source of depression.
• Violence/drunks : Eventhough the lad enjoys to get a bit drunk on certain occations though he will never drink to the point where he becomes violent and mentally unstable, atleast not intentionally. Also being a guard, he's had to deal with plenty of drunk tarvern patrons before. Dominic dispises uneccisary violence, for an example: If a husband constantly beat up his wife or children merely to keep them under control and do his bidding to the point where they actively fear him, or if a man attacked another person if he just because insulted him. Some things are just not worth it. Not to Dominic atleast.

• Isabelle Artiemus (@CrombiHexy ) : Loving mother who brought Dominic to this fabulous world, he loves her eventhough they can sometimes have minor disputes.
• Hugo Artiemus ( @Land_of_Sheep ) : Dominic's father, whom he has developed a rather distant relationship with. Mainly due to his absence of his during his childhood.
• Theodore Artiemus ( @Zombiel3ait ) : Cousin, patriarch and role model, Dominic looks up to his cousin and always seeks to support and impress him whenever possible. The first time he met his cousin was when he traveled to Regalia with his father for the first time.
• Anya Vicki @FlossyBerry : A good friend , Dominic met this yanar at the tavern where she flirted with him, he sat down with her and got to know her . She ended up inviting him home to let him show exactly "How strong he was" though he refused, firstly because he had only just met her and secondly due to his cousins many warnings about going home with random women.
• Ingrid Artiemus @Guiltmenot : Another of Dominic's cousins, Ingrid and him can have a rather.. "tight" relationship at times, easily getting into arguments and passive aggresive bombardements, nonetheless he loves her like most of his family.
• William Coen @BillyWantHam : Another rolemodel of Dominics. He admires William's leadership ability, his way of seeing things and putting them into a better perspective in a heated situation and probably most of all his courage and intellect. William is best described by Dominic as the father he never really had. Eventhough William likely doesn't feel the same attatchement to Dominic, He would do everything to protect William like he was his own family and Dominic always strives to impress William and make him proud.
• Daniel Silevon @TheVigilantWolf : A good friend and shield brother. Dominic tends to patrol with this perticular isldar and he is also a good friend of his.

Life Story (Required)


On a cold winter day of New Ceardia, the first born of Hugo and Isabel Artiemus was brought into the world.
A few years later, when Dominic was almost three, his baby sister was born and later when he was eight, his other sister Juliana. Dominic grew up in the County of Vaerburgh, along with his sisters. His father was seemingly always out on business and came back only for short periods of time.
The young boy started to pay more attention to his studies more than anything or anyone else. He loved his sisters, and occasionally would humor them in a few games, but commonly fell back into his introverted state.
At early ages he was trained in swordsmanship and slowly gravitated to a rapier as his main weapon, though he still was taught to use regular short and arming swords which he prefered to dual wield.
When Dominic was old enough to ride his horse, around the age of ten, he was then trained in horse combat as well as archery and basic riding. Seeming to excel in his training Dominic continued to adimately train in this combat.

Later, Dominic had just turned thirteen, his Aunt Roselyn had died from an unknown illness. Thus forcing Hugo to take up the position of family head and the title of Baron. Dominic actively started to help out with the business finances as well as make some more important decisions for the Barony. Although, his father attempted to control most things by himself, though ultimately failed in the end.

The young teen soon became livid with his father’s inability to successfully run the Barony, but was in no position to take the title or even take over some responsibility. So instead he did what we could within his control, and started preparing for the day he will inherit the title as he was next in line. He started to help out in the fields, getting to know the farmers and how they had done business. Dominic would then improve and reconstruct the way business was ran at the root. Soon becoming friendly with the head farmers, commonly helping them in the fields and started to get to know the families.

Dominic could understand that this was the best for the family, and refused to hold any sort of ill will to his cousins. Though in the beginning he did help Theo with the business, and continued his efforts with finances. As well as, he slowly started to repair his relationship with his father. Later on, most of the family moved back to Regalia, where he became more adamant in his family, as well as joined the Vigilant Shield. Soon looking to join the merchant’s guild along the side his father and cousin Theodore.

 

Alrighty. I will get to work soon. I'm probably going to take it bit by bit because i don't have alot of free time atm. Maybe i'll do it in the weekend though.
