Faɗimatu Amankona, his mother, watched over him during his infancy. On the contrary, his father Abidemi Amankona was a reckless man. He spent the days after Djibril's conception drinking what alcohol he could find, and barely kept the house in place. Despite his father’s constant drinking, his mother managed to act as Djibril’s sole caretaker adequately. Faɗimatu did her best to keep Abidemi from her newborn knowing the risks that came with being near her crazed husband. As Djibril grew, he spent a majority of his time playing alone due to the other children shunning him. However, what happiness he could find was often cut short because of his father’s erratic aurora. Anytime Djibril showed contentedness, his father would shut it down in an instant; if he couldn’t, he would find a way to quiet his son. _____Once he reached adolescence, Djibril began to receive notions of rebellion towards the rules set in place around him- specifically his father’s. While he initially did not blatantly disobey orders, his behavior gradually sank as Djibril became careless. He received physical and verbal repercussions from his father upon seeing his childish behavior, and Djibril could not do anything but watch and listen. His youth was a nightmare, and he still had a few more years to pass before reaching adulthood. At the age of sixteen, Djibril caught his father in a drunken stupor harassing his mother. He instantly defended her which clearly angered his father. An argument ensued, which then transitioned to pushing and slapping. Djibril had enough of it, and ended the fight by breaking a full bottle of alcohol on Abidemi’s head. He was out for the remainder of the night, but the very next day a never before seen rage filled him. Knowing well how strong his father was compared to him, Djibril had no other choice but to leave. Leaving behind his mother was hard, but there was no other choice. _____The streets of Malifant were uncoordinated. The state was one of the least organized regions in Songaskian-ruled lands in Farah’deen. After spending a few weeks as a wandering derelict, he came across a mugging on the outskirts of one of Malifant’s markets. Curious, he tailed after until the thugs took note of his presence. The thugs were aware of Djibril’s young age and the eyes he bore, and spared him of any violence they could have riddled onto him. This marked the beginning of the young Songaskian’s corruption. He possessed little knowledge and intelligence due to the lack of education in his youth, but the crime syndicate changed that. Djibril progressed over the next few years he’d spent with the syndicate. He had risen up in the ranks, and formed a strong relationship with the second-in-command of the group, Ngozi Osei. As the second-in-command, he managed the syndicate’s finances and stability. Djibril naturally became his apprentice as he followed his footsteps as Ngozi naturally took interest in Djibril's innate abilities. It was only a few weeks before Djibril had eventually met his daughter, Amara Osei. The two spent a considerable amount of time together as they were both around the same age- at the time Djibril was 23, and Amara was 25. The pair were almost inseparable, and eventually led to Djibril attempting to ruin the syndicate after love had manipulated him. Amara had Djibril act against her father due to her hatred of his career, leading to Djibril jeopardizing the syndicate. Despite his long history with the syndicate there were no second chance opportunities once you’ve threatened its wellbeing. After a rough argument and threats given to him, Djibril was exiled and forced to roam the streets again. _____In his early thirties, he stumbles across a smaller crime organization that accepts him due to his prerequisites from his career in the crime syndicate. He spent the next few years, plotting with the higher-ups within the organization to bring success. However, the group unfortunately met their demise when an insider had ratted out their location and business. The local law enforcement annihilated any remains of the organization, and Djibril was forced to run again. With the wealth he had gradually gotten over the years, he afforded enough to in an apartment and live low for the next few years. In 306 AC, he decided that he had enough with Farah’deen and the constant feeling of sand everywhere. He parted ways from his apartment packing what he could, and set sail to Regalia. The brig he was on made a pit stop at Essalonia where new passengers and those aboard left, giving him time to experience the culture there for at least two weeks. The brig continued its journey to Regalia, and Djibril has kept his ears out for any opportunities he could take advantage of.
