Travel Abilities: ⬫ True Path I - Cyrillian takes the form of a flurry of silvery sheets of paper, quills, and tomes. When slipping through tight spaces, they leave scratches and clean slices on surfaces which fade within moments. No effect on skin or flesh. Combat Abilities: ⬫ Magic Bolt I - The projectile appears as a pair of crossing buzz saws made of bismuth. When in contest, they take the form of metal needles - thousands of them flying in a precise orderly fashion. Cyrillian's eyes blaze silver while in contest, as steel seemingly spiders down his hands and arms the longer this goes on. The steel harmlessly - but violently - blasts off once the spell is canceled. Aesthetic Abilities: ⬫ Magic Sight II - Lantern typically takes the form of an orb of light he is capable of making simple shapes out of. Cyrillian's eyes glow white passively. His blood glows when drawn. Support Abilities: ⬫ Light Mend I - When being cast upon, these wounds beam with white light and heal. The mist in his eyes fall out over his cheeks like tears for a few moments during and after casting. ⬫ Light Mend II - While being channeled, Cyrillian's hands glow white. Whether or not these values may bring ill for some is not of as much importance as maintaining order itself, but he does not lack a conscience. Not an overly selfish man, but not quite generous despite what others might think of him as a physician. Personality Type Assertive Logician? (INTP-A) This man has a hard time seeing things through a lens of sentimentality and his decisions are based on gathered information, yet since symbiosis he questions this line of thinking. For now, his personality is in a state of metamorphosis with his Oorl's influence. Religion Faith of Estel, Altalar Pantheon - Ammu-Loa | Piety: (9/10) Traumatized following year zero, Cyrillian reacted artfully if violently. Steeped in an all-crippling fear of experiencing such hellishness again and in a bid to atone for what sin caused the Gods to abandon he and his people like so, he became so strongly devoted that he got himself inked to the Exist and back with holy scripture and also acquired a number of Exist-borne mutations just to be more in touch. This terror driven evangelicalism lasted something of two whole centuries, before Cyrillian finally wound down enough to mildy regret his tattoos. Nowadays, faith still plays an important part of his life, but it tends to be a highly personal venture where he is tasked to assure a death is painless, good, and dignified. Spoiler: ⬫ Fun Extras ⬫ ⬫ Likes ⬫ ⬫ Symbolism: Cyrillian enjoys peering between the lines of imagery and literature to find implied meaning, whether this was the intent or not; he likes to think so. ⬫ Rarity: Market value is not always what is important to Cyrus, rather the sheer uncommonness of the object in question. He likes to keep or at least take in-depth notes of whatever or whomever he comes across. ⬫ Tart Tastes: Fitting of his personality, Cyrillian prefers bitter, tart, or sour tastes in food rather than sweet. He especially enjoys cranberries and gladly eats them on their own. ⬫ Life Story ⬫ ⧰ Childhood & Adolescence (80 - 60 B.C.) ⧰ Toddlerhood | Within the family lineage of House Nohorin, Saë'yallrain is brought into the world in already crowded Tanaar Ivaëlle, the first of two siblings. In the beginning, the child's hyperactive attention-span was occupied with his mother's painting lessons when he wasn't in the midst of childhood shenanigans and less than kind interactions with the other children. Temperament | As a theme he would carry on for the rest of his childhood and adolescence, Cyrillian is quite deceitful and contemptuous of his peers. He exploits these peers and doting adults alike whom he frequently finds ways to manipulate. Said adults are not entirely oblivious to Cyrillian’s caustic nature, as they, instead of punishing him, fluently funnel that potential into more positive outcomes. Cyrillian’s overall childhood is carefree and nostalgic, as despite all this he was a member of a number of good friend groups. Craft | At the cusp of adolescence, Cyrillian’s engrossment in the topic of the body and healing is heard by his family. In these times however, little to no energy is spent building upon the medical sciences. Instead, he is educated on matters of unnatural affliction, mutationism, Arcanology, and healing through an ancient Lightness Mage-Master called Olaynö’nya. As a young man, he takes to these lessons as recommended, although the mundane afflictions strangling the lower-class slaves stirs his interest yet again. Sorcery only went so far, and alike with the vast majority of his people was no Mage. With this in mind, he began developing his craft of encouraging one’s own biology to mend itself instead of relying on magical assistance; at first, he did this only to rouse the slaves whose value depreciated as they diminished. As tomes and tutors on the matter were either scarce or inaccurate around his home, and the Princes found it more worthwhile to cull rather than cure, this would mark the start of Cyrillian’s rather hands-on method of learning as he works on injured or ill slaves and travels around frequently to be one of the few willing to get close to afflicted members of society. What was first an interest in preserving investment and appeasement of the Breaker of Misery became a passion and life-long craft. ⧰ Adulthood & Fall of Allorn (60 B.C. - 1 A.C.) ⧰ The Trial of Be'saith | Upon reaching the age of thirty-two, a young Cyrillian is launched into holy trial to choose his patron-God. With few exceptions, he reacts very poorly to the ritualistic hallucinogens and requires a hand in remaining grounded, not to be completely lost in drug-induced terror. He manages to power through this short Hell, making it to the Hall of Wonders. There he surmises his dreadful visions must direct him to Ammu-Loa, Compatriot of the Dead. Omens | The doctor is entrusted with increasingly high risk and costly procedures where common Sorcery could not quite reach, along with treatment investigation. He prides himself on the accomplishments he's achieved in his field, going above and beyond not to be dependent on the arcane, but on his own capabilities and hands. Yet, as the nature of magic itself begins to change and the Nenya send forth the very first precursors of Yanar to warn and protect the Empire, Cyrillian now in his eighties is sure of himself enough to join them among the voices of fellow concerned Arcanologists and professionals - to be promptly ignored by proud Allorn leaders. Disaster & Cowardice | The Cataclysm came whilst Cyrillian was living abroad with his partner, away from the very beginnings of a quickly losing war. The existential horror of the situation gathers momentum as he rushes home alongside called upon warriors to be met with destruction and demonic anarchy, yet rushes to heed his calling in serving his people and Empress. A much needed doctor in the wake of massacre, he attempts to preserve as many lives as possible. As a reward for his valiance, Cyrillian is injured and sickened by a mixture of conjured miasma and fallen debris of his home. Ultimately, the sheer magnitude of danger and chaos forces him to make a difficult decision and he retreats, taking no one but himself for the time being. This decision ultimately is what preserved his life, but plagues him with guilt continuously in the future. The Wildering takes a slowly recovering Cyrillian by surprise as forces he recognized once as friendly lash out in fury, just as he'd hoped the global torture had ended. He nearly does not make it out alive, suffering an intense lashing across his face, viscerally cutting it open from mouth to right temple and leaving a ghastly scar which he hides behind Olt'vven ritual today. With a Magestorm raging, he is unable to rapidly recover despite a number of Sorcerers and surviving Mages around him. ⧰ Reconstruction (1 - 281 A.C.) ⧰ Picking Up the Pieces | Cyrillian emerges from his hiding deeply disturbed and struggling to come to grips. With the worst of the wrath from both Void and Exist seemingly over with, he returns to his birth place to foremostly mourn, then salvage what is left and organize efforts to rebuild and rescue what souls had managed in spite of his cowardice. He witnesses and once again manages to survive when the slave uprisings erupt. This is thanks to select souls who remember his name as a mercy for perhaps not them, but their ancestors and families. With his life spared, he spends the vast majority of it alongside his sister in tirelessly attempting to preserve what is there and reconstruct what was lost. At some point, he marries and has offspring of his own. Bodily Horrors | Met with new and horrible afflictions as a result of the extra-planar chaos, Dr. Nohorin is at the forefront of discovery and therapy for these things to see older and newer versions come and go. He spends innumerable hours taking part in sometimes horrific to witness and perform trials and treatment, as he despairs behind a veil of cold professionalism. His character grew resilient and callous as a result, not always to the liking of others. With a new batch of physiologies freshly developed both naturally and unnaturally, he takes to learning them up close and personally, regardless of his very colorful opinions of them. The Oath of No Harm is quite foreign to this Altalar, and so characteristic of them this research is illuminating yet at times macabre and ill-gotten. It was during this time that Cyrillian founds one of the first major Altalar-run academies of mundane medicine settled in what would be Ithania. Today, known as Académie Mains de Répit. It's also around this time when his first grandchild is born at 266 years of age. Family Reunion | Upon hearing of this, Cyrillian drops everything and finds himself in the city of Hyä-Monh. He's close to the upbringing of his grandson and lives near he and his parents, even after Beriaal in his teen years strikes out to live with another of his children. Whilst focusing on his continued endeavours in the sciences, Cyrillian is happy to lend networking and otherwise aid the continued education and achievements of his descendant. Gradually, his own wanderlust falls back into effect and he returns to his adventures abroad. ⧰ Present Day (281 - 308 A.C.) ⧰ A Lesser-Run State | As just another stop of many, Cyrillian seats himself within Regalia once more to see it having been developed by Ailor-kind to a tremendous degree. The constant flow of medical oddities both mundane and arcane to account for his extended stay, along with the presence family.
