Introduction:
Hello! It is, probably, hardly a surprise for literally anyone to hear me say, that my favorite section of Roleplay has always been Crime Roleplay. I have made probably a dozen or so threads on suggestions, changes, whole systems and ideas for improving and building upon it after all. Well, today's post is a bit, different. Because I am not suggesting something, im displaying it!
Welcome, to the Crime Roleplay Peripherals! This is an amalgamation of two separate yet tied together things which are somewhat communally run and were kick started by @Sozzer and @NChulingeth . Lets go over them quickly!
Crime Chat:
Crime Chat is a simple idea, that had been thrown around a lot prior, and was eventually picked up by Sozzer. Its, deceptively simple. Basically, it is all Crime Roleplayers and some of the more illegally inclined Slums Roleplayers, all getting tossed into two chats- a banter one (which I recommend anyone who joins turns off notifications for) and an Announcement one where important things can be tossed to gain attention and pick up steam, such as new gangs, crime related events and threads, news, etc. The goal of the chat is to get people together, hanging out and talking, and working together OOCly to fuel the IC events and roleplay, basically providing an environment where players who are usually only interacting while in fights, can work together to plan when things should go down. As an example, if Gang One wants to ambush Gang Two, the leaders of each can get together, plan out a time when people from both sides can get on, set out any ground rules before hand (such as maim perms, special weapon usage, and participant caps since if you're being ambushed you should be at a numbers disadvantage). The hope is that this will help significantly reduce salt that IC fights and battles tend to bring flaring up.
Territory Map:
As part of the Crime Chat, or more as an additional element to it, there is also a Territory Map and loose mini-system where areas that have been claimed by gangs are noted for future reference by other gangs. I also intend to work out an image marking and listing locations and territory chunks with memorable names, some humorous some more relevant to landmarks, to make this a bit cleaner and easier to understand in the future, though that is work in progress.
There are rules to editing the Territory Document, so don't screw with it. Trolling, or making absurd claims like "We own the whole underground portion" that aren't feasible without justifications (like your character being mad, or your gang having enough manpower to possibly maybe do it), is not allowed. Use some restraint with this. Its just meant to be a fun way to keep track of things for people. Dont screw it up please.
