Based on
video, I have came to wonder, could creeper be yanar? Based on the video, both are walking plant creatures. If the public agrees creepers are yanar, should this be added to the lore?

I like this. I though about this after watching this video yesterday. Yes. It should be added. Maybe, instead of yanar, they could be corrupted peat enchanted by magic native to Drowdar. What do you think?

YAY YOU WATCH HIM TOO!!! While I don't think they could be Yanar in the lore, they could just be plant monsters...

The Nenya's attempt at a defensive Yanar perhaps. Just like the creeper was a failed attempt at a pig. But whether or not the Nenya failed would depends on your point of view. Blowing forests up would be counterproductive but then again, creepers in Massive don't have block-damage enabled.

Side note:
Sphagnum moss happens to be a very common potting material for orchids. And the only orchids found in Minecraft is the most highly evolved genus. It's some sort of conspiracy!

Creepers as Yanar would be very interesting, though creepers being foul golem like monsters made with evil plant magics could be just as interesting. And then there's the chance that creepers just happen to be highly evolved plants that may or may not have had some magic help some long time ago. All are interesting ideas and help give an idea on what creepers could be in the lore, more-so since I've yet to see creeper lore in massive. Also I'm sorry that I just wrote a paragraph to state that I like the idea, that is all.

Even if they are classified as Yanar, why should they be in the lore? A bit pointless since no mobs spawn in Regalia, where most rp happens, the only ones affected would be in strict rp only factions.

Creepers.

Yanars.

I get that people may think that they're both plants.

But Yanars don't have gunpowder stored inside of them. Exploding Yanars? That just doesn't make any sense. What kind of plant on Earth explodes? Really?

Watch the video please. It explained everything.

I did. First, tell me. Where would the creepers fit in the lore? Would they really drop so much gunpowder? Carbon and charcoal. If they were plants, they would already have carbon. Where would they get charcoal? Yanars have to breed and give birth too to other yanars.

ą¹–Ū£ŪœI felt like they are a sort of anthropoid, as mentioned above by @Billy Rage . There is a known Ant that when threatened, it actually bursts and lets off a sort of acid from its body that strands and sticks to other ants like glue. Also, @xXFallenNinjaXx brought up yet another point, the gunpowder. No bug nor plant can really hold that in their bodies without bursting, or dying from being poisoned/burned/cookied, whatever happens to them when such a thing gets into their stems. Plus, something you final you need to note by itself; The video did not explain anything, even if it did, only a little. The channel after all is named GAME THEORY, not GAME FACT. They even say at the end of the video, "But hey, it's just a theory..." Unless we were to ask Notch himself, the creator of the creeper from the start, we really won't know. A few Regals are bet upon as the story goes; He meant it on accident while trying to program a pig, and just thought it could be a cool enemy that would put a cramp in your plans. Scientific evidence to back up his claim is neat, but anyone can bring science in to their side to appear as though more prepared and correct. I brought science into my claim, and look, through other's information and hypothesis, it was proven wrong.
As for the lore part; Why not leave them be as though like the Enderman's view? Part of the void army, but ended up getting stuck. After all, think of what a Creeper basically is. An empty shell with no heart, no mind, and only one purpose; to kill you. When you piece that together to a mangled and swamped flesh, that's pretty terrifying, and sounds a bit more than your everyday undead. Undead used to be people; But these Creepers couldn't have been anything but hellbent from the start.

I want to point out that technically charcoal is a form of carbon. If the explosion had sufficient heat, pressure, and lack of oxygen, the process could very well turn whatever carbon is available into charcoal.

Also, 1300 mphs sounds waay too high. Physics doesn't scale up like that. There's a reason why ants can lift several times their own weight but humans cannot.

Lastly, in regards to creepers being evil or corrupt, wouldn't necessarily be true as that would depend on your point of view. If this plant theory were true, that would mean they attack simply as a matter of course. Certainly bad, from the player's perspective, but not evil. No more evil than a rabid wolf or lion.

Though I do like the video, and it could be a real thing in massive, it only (I think) should be a small discharge. If a Yanar had control of this, why would it want to explode itself anyways? Yanar were always peaceful, and they don't reproduce by spreading spores, so it would be a suicide. Then again, a small discharge from your hands as a defense mechanism seems more likely than suicide bombing, peaceful yanar

Yes, but if creepers were indeed Yanars, why in the world would they explode themselves?

I disagree with creepers being Yanars specifically. Now a sub-type of plant creature or proto-Yanar, a Nenya's test run at creating a moving plant for example, that would be interesting. Especially since I feel the whole explode-to-disperse thing seems more true to plant reproduction. But definitely not the same race as modern Yanars.

It would be neat to create a new sub race for the Yanars, but I doubt that Nenya would create exploding Yanars. She created them to send a warning about something to the Elves, then something about corruption. We could have where Behaesel's corruption of the Yanars, which made them into.. I don't know. Creepers? Corrupted Yanars that have deteriorated?

I thought of it as the Nenya's experiments before creating a full-fledged Yanar. The creeper would basically be a plant on legs based on a more primitive and simple plant that just incidentally pops to propoagate.

Ah... I wasn't really taking this seriously but this is very interesting! I have a sudden creative spark and I'm wondering if I should do a Write-Me...

They already do those sorts of things with other races, and even made up ones. This would just be another thing that experienced players can do something with.
Still, there's no direct proof that creepers are plantlike. Like @Chronicler basically said, the video was just a "what if" no actual proof. I wish I could change my vote to no, but eh.

Honestly, if all there is, is a "What if?" That gives the community more creative ability. It would make more sense than if not explained.

The gunpowder was an after effect of the explosion.
