This is a quick clarification/announcement regarding mage characters using the Seraph language IC. Recently there has been some confusion surrounding how much of the Ancient Seraph language Mages can and cannot know and use in their Roleplay. The Wiki has been revised to more clearly express the original intent of the text, found both here and here. Below is a brief summary.

The Seraph language is an ancient one, and the knowledge surrounding it is very poor at best. Only attentive scholars and mages have been able to make out and learn several phrases. Nobody in Aloria is fluent in Seraph; nobody fully understands the nuances behind the grammar structure. Only a few very basic words and phrases, such as "Fire, soul, animal, plant, light, sand, water" are able to be recognized and spoken in spells (and in turn, aurally anticipated by would-be victims of the magic!). Most scholars have to use code books to help translate runes located in Seraph ruins to be able to even remotely understand the full meaning of what is being conveyed.

We hope this helps set right many confusions about the Seraph language. Happy Roleplaying!
