History
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Clan MacDrocharmadh hails from the ancient Caeren town of Drocharma in Talahm-Gall, known as one of the towns in which the School of Airdh-Rossahn was founded. Many early MacDrocharmadh found themselves occupied with trading via land, becoming prolific merchant caravans and shepherds within the region, caring particularly for the Gallovian Geep and adjacent livestock. The MacDrocharmadh harken their ancestry back to the ancient Goedlain settlement of Druich nan Barcholen. Outside of these mercantile affairs, the MacDrocharmadh, like most Caeren Clans, serve as the Men-at-Arms of Dunbrae-led armies and have mild participation in the levies of local lords. Currently, most of the MacDrocharmadh outside of the Drocharma, especially in the city of Regalia, serve independently as Mercenaries and are trying to carve out a path for themselves in the city.

The Structure of a Caeren Clan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clan MacDrocharmadh, like most Caeren clans of Mannadh-Alba and Talahm-Gall abides by the following structure, there is no hierarchy beyond the Hierarchy of Strength. Religious figures are nominated amongst the religiously inclined of each clan, and are most commonly formed of the most educated of the Caeren and as such exist outwith the Hierarchy of Strength. The Clan Hierarchy of Strength exists to maintain the order and cohesion of the Clan whilst providing the individual freedoms to which all Caeren are entitled, which are derived from the following quote;
"A Caeren man is entitled to his home, his land, his sword, his food, and his family. To deprive any Caeren of such is to infringe upon their rights as a human, and is adequate reason to warrant retribution upon the aggressor."
All Caeren, within their boundaries, is free to live and act upon their whims, but will take care to maintain a respectable distance of the personal freedoms of others unless welcomed, as to impose oneself upon the freedoms of others is liable for Exile from the Clan and all individual holdings therein.
Despite this heavy emphasis on the Caeren Culture as a whole, MacDrocharmadh, like many other Caeren Clans often welcome foreign families into their Clan, largely out of a desire to learn of the Cultures of others outwith their lands, but also as a means of bolstering and broadening their workforce.

The Warriors and Laborers - A Luchd-Sabaid agus Luchd-Obraich
The Warriors and the Laborers are those within the clan who are in their Prime, being from the age of fourteen and the age of fifty. This is the period in which a Caeren will learn from the world around them and have a say in the day-to-day ongoings of the Clan, should their duties be fulfilled. At the age of fourteen, following the receipt of their Brand of Beatha, a Child will be elevated into the Warriors and Laborers and guided into their life's dictated path by those current Warriors with the same branding.
A Warrior's job in the Clan is to defend it from opposition and invaders, hunt and gather supplies, and instruct the youth in self-defense. Most Caeren are taught to fight from a young age through their participation in Skeamdhs, but it is the Warriors of each Clan that truly instruct these rough and ready combatants into a proper defensive force within the Clan, dubbed as the Clans' Kier. Warriors come in many varieties, from Pikemen to Cavaliers, with these determinants all echoing back to an individual's Brand of Beatha, but also the land surrounding the Ballachan, and the needs of the Clan at a particular time.
A Laborer's job in the Clan is to aid the Lair-Gaidh in the establishment of infrastructure, they are the farmers, builders, traders, and craftsmen of the Clan, but also those that establish trade routes with nearby Dunbrae settlements to ensure steady supply and positive relations with nearby cities. A Laborer will always be instructed in their Beatha's chosen craft by those with similar branding, ensuring that each generation of the Clan has a steady supply of all required workers.
The Children and the Protected - A 'Chlann agus seann Doinne
The Children and the Protected are those within the Clan who are before or after their Prime. They are the children to be tended to and cared for, and the elderly from which we seek the wisdom of mistakes made in the past. Their duties are to receive the care of the Clan and provide their hands to the peaceful and quiet tasks.
A Child's job in the Clan is to learn from their elders and to engage in the training and instruction of others to one day become functional members of the Clan themselves by the age of fourteen, at which time the Child will receive their Brand of Beatha, during the Feis na Garm Fad-Beatha of the year they turned thirteen. This branding is a Child's life calling and will dictate their role in the Clan from that day forth until the brand has healed over, after which they are free.
A Protected's job in the Clan is to instruct not only the Children but the entire Clan with the wisdom gained throughout their life. They are few in number and highly cherished amongst the Clan due to the short lifespan of a proper Caeren. The Protected have already served their time amongst the Warriors and the Laborers, and are as such relieved of such duties. They are allowed to live a free life of peace, cared for by a loving family, and inspired by the growing youth around them. It is often those of the Protected that elevate themselves to become Great Speakers

The Great Speakers - A Labhraiche Sgoinneil
The Great Speakers are a religious council of three that act as the determinant factor in decisions made by the Ballachan's Council, they instruct and advise the Clan on affairs relating to the Spiorad and are the teachers of the Creideamh Spiorad, but also lead their respective structural roles within the Clan's Society.
The Lair-Gaidh, or Speaker of War, is the instructor of infrastructure and the tactician of the Clan. They are required to be learned in the command of the Warriors and deeply familiar with all Warriors in the Clan. It is often said that the Lair-Gaidh never sleep, as they are constantly meeting with Warriors of the Clan, or assessing the landscape at night for unused fertile ground for growing additional crops, structurally sound flatlands upon which to construct houses and deep caves in which to mine ore for refinement and trade. The Lair-Gaidh are responsible for meeting the supply and demand needs of the Clan, in times of peace and of war.
The Lair-Chith, or Speaker of Peace, is the instructor of teachers and the doctor of the Clan. They are required to be learned in the command of Laborers and deeply familiar with the ways of medicine, be it traditional or magical. The Lair-Chith is also responsible for administration over the Arcane in and around the Clan's territories, they advise the Clan on what to do when a child is born of strange circumstances but also determine how the Clan interacts with those who are mutated, or do not obey the whims of the land, but instead command the Spiorad to do their biddings, such as Mages, Sorcerers, and Silven. The Lair-Chith is very often one of these groups themselves.
The Lair-Inniel, or Grand Speaker, presides over all matters within the Clan, they are most often seen as the Patriarch or Matriarch of the Clan and have established themselves in such position through serving as both a Lair-Gaidh and Lair-Chith in their time, meaning that they are the renaissance men of the Clan. They are also most often the eldest member of the Clan. Despite this position of authority, they are very rarely the last to make decisions on behalf of the Clan, as many Caeren believe that the young Warriors and Laborers are those that dictate the Clan's future, and as such should be those making the choices. The Lair-Inniel is, as such, mostly ceremonial. They interpret the whims of the Spiorad of the world and recount their messages to the people of the Clan, dictating their interpreted needs of the land, but also act as the judges during Caeren trials.

Familial Traits
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite these listed base Physical and Mental traits, the MacDrocharmadh, like most Caeren Clans, are also welcoming of foreigners desiring to join their Clan, as such these do not necessarily need to be abided by in full when posing a character concept.------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Physical Traits
There is little dimorphism between genders amongst the MacDrocharmadh, a pattern that is seen in most Caeren. Caeren are built strong, and ebb toward the shorter side of the spectrum of height, ranging from 5'4" to 5'10". Most MacDrocharmadh have grey or blue eyes, and hair that ranges from an ebony brown to a light auburn. Physically, most MacDrocharmadh are built very strongly, with body shapes ranging from Athletic to Muscular in musculature, and body fats ranging from Average to Built, due to their hearty diets of classical Caeren cuisine.
Mental Traits
MacDrocharmadh minds are as hardy as their bodies, whilst not the most pre-disposed to topics such as Alchemy and Calculus, the MacDrocharmadh exhibit a sense of social smartness that is rarely found amongst the Caeren due to their historical emphasis on trading with other cultures. They are strict in their morals, and highly emphasize concepts of upholding personal freedoms, maintenance of the personal property, expansion of the family, and welcoming of others from lands far away from their own. Many MacDrocharmadh are particularly xenophobic to particular groups, distrusting of Elves and Songaskians following their participation in Regalian Campaigns against those races. These schisms are gradually being mended with further experience of those from far places.
Character Listing
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
90% of this section is purely for examples, formats, and considerations. Due to the chaotic nature of Caeren Clan membership and the general acceptance of adoption and the participation of multiple families, characters are mostly on a write-in basis, allowing for greater personal cosmetic and cultural freedoms. Despite being of a Caeren Clan, one could be a Dwarf or Sihai, for example.

Claiomh Juiadh MacDrocharmadh - @Antimreoir - Claiomh is a peculiarity amongst the MacDrocharmadh, born to a Breizh Mother and Caeren Father, and raised particularly on boats travelling between either location. Currently, she represents the MacDrocharmadh despite her youth, ascending high in the Caeren Hierarchy of Strength due to her resilience.
Éoghann Juiadh MacDrocharmadh - Open - Éoghann is the epitome of the MacDrocharmadh Warrior caste, a disciple of the Cnoc-Sleagh discipline of Airdh-Rossahn, an excellent pikeman and elder brother to Claiomh, Éoghann has served in the Regalian Military for many years since his conscription at the age of sixteen, and generally wouldn't have life in any other way than as a soldier.
Cináed Ruidh MacDrocharmadh - Open - Cináed, by his calling, became a trainee merchant from a young age, leading caravans from the town of Drocharma towards the distant Dunbrae cities of Kinlass and Grisvarna, and, with the recognition of merchants at their bustling ports ended up pursuing an education in finance in the Hanses of Waldmark. Likely to be one of the most worldly MacDrocharmadh due to his exploits as a merchant.
And many, many others. These are just a few simple examples of what write-in characters should be proposed as.

OOC Information
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The MacDrocharmadh is open to any and all, adoptions, write-ins, and IC events permitting entry. I hope to properly establish a clan in the wilderness with the introduction of Construction, and as such, build a small woodland community surrounding the lore of the Caeren Ceardians.
Any Race and Gender is welcomed within the MacDrocharmadh, the only thing that matters is your personality. I hope to make this woodland settlement a completely different environment from the city of Regalia, a colorful, sleepy village in the woods. And will be hosting plenty of events out of such.
The Caeren lore, in its entirety, just like this page, is very long. I'm more than willing to help anyone wanting to get involved with the culture personally!
