There are many things in the world that make Cithrel happy and content, such as their hobby of cooking as well as the games and activities they would participate in with their siblings. However, they usually do not show a lot of emotions. Instead, they try to downplay their own happiness or any outward emotions in an attempt to avoid showing private feelings to potential strangers. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? They would get angry with themselves over the fact that they showed their fear and feel ashamed that they backed off or didn’t confront whatever caused them to be afraid. As a result, Cithrel will try to act tough and untouchable to any new people they present themselves to in an attempt to avoid the possibility of being afraid or letting their fears get to them. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Usually sets themselves to work in an attempt to make themselves forget about their situation. They a hobby of baking that they really enjoy and it will always give them some relief. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Respects the authorities and abides by the laws, but pays attention to one's character more than titles. She also has her limits and will not hesitate to speak out if something bothers her. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Cithrel was taught at a young age to not demonize anyone just because of their Race alone and views everyone as equals until they prove themselves to be otherwise. However, Cithrel is very wary of new people and will act in defense if she feels threatened or uncomfortable. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves and other faiths? For the most part, they are accepting of faiths outside of their own and respect any beliefs that they may never have thought about or understood. The main exception to this is any religion that praises the use of unnecessary violence towards any race or creature. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? As a participant in magic, Cithrel is used to seeing and performing magic and feels completely comfortable when in an environment where magic is being used to protect or help others. If curiosity gets the best of them, they will most likely ask the user about their abilities and write down whatever sparks their interest. How does your character feel towards their family? At a crucial point in Cithrel's life, their father disappeared and they, as a result, felt suspicious and untrusting of their mother. Their mother remains ignorant to any questions asked about their father's whereabouts. Loves their siblings dearly and regrets leaving them behind. What is your character the proudest of about themselves? Cithrel is proud of the relentless determination they have to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. They believe that without this, they would be completely lost in Regalia and forget or disregard the reasons they came. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Cithrel is motivated by the search for their father and the reason behind his disappearance. Other than that, they have hopes that they will be able to come out of their shell and be themselves. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Cithrel's biggest insecurity is the fact that they know they are emotionally closed off from new people and are naturally untrusting, which makes them wary about any potential relationships. They have deemed themselves unlovable from a young age since they believed for years that they were the reason for their father's disappearance. Though this has been proven to not be the case, Cithrel still fears that they lack the ability to be emotionally close with any potential friends or lovers. What is your character's biggest fear? Never finding out what happened to their dad or finding him. They also have an irrational fear of horses (they are huge can you really blame them). Life Story Childhood Cithrel Uridi Venzana was born into a seemingly exceptional family in the mountains of Daendroc. Her parents, Urthor and Issaris Venzana, had always wanted a growing family that was built on the foundations of trust and love. By the time Cithrel was learning to read, Alina and Everryn, her two younger siblings, were introduced into the family. Together, the three children spent their youth chasing small creatures across the wooded mountainside, collecting various flowers to make jewelry out of, and listening to stories from the townsfolk who lived at the bottom of the mountain. Even though most of the day was spent with her siblings, Cithrel unabashedly favored her father and cherished their time together. Much of what the young Yanar learned came from her father’s teachings, for he taught her to treat others with respect and instructed her on how to defend herself and the people who mattered most to her. Cithrel was also encouraged to try out her father’s lute, even though each lesson ended with Cithrel bursting into tears out of frustration. Nevertheless, Cithrel loved her father dearly and was inspired by his selfless acts of kindness. Adolescence - Early Adulthood Cithrel was only sixteen years old when she unknowingly saw her father for the last time. She doesn’t remember the exact events of that day, as all she can recall is the anger that swept through her body as she raised her voice to her father, slammed his irreplaceable lute to the ground, and stormed off to her room, never coming out until the following morning. When she awoke, she found a neat, hand-written note in her name, stating that she was forgiven and that his lute was unaffected by her fit of rage. It was also mentioned on a torn corner in nearly scribbled writing that his lute was now hers, and he hoped that his lute would accompany her on her future endeavors. Confused, Cithrel ran to her father’s room only to find it desolate, with no trace of her father other than his precious lute. Why did he leave? That was all the children could ask their mother that day. All that Issaris Venzana could say about her absent husband was that he left and was never coming back, which shocked all of her children, especially Cithrel. Urthor Venzana. Husband of Issaris Venzana. Father of Cithrel, Alina, and Everryn Venzana. Gone. Never to return. And it was all Cithrel’s fault. Well, that was how she pictured it. Devastated, Cithrel isolated herself and desperately tried to connect with her father in any way so she could apologize and beg for him to return home. To distract herself, Cithrel picked up cooking and began writing everything she pondered about in a journal. Her father’s lute sat in the corner of her room for an entire year before she decided to pick it up and trace over its unique engravings with her fingers like she would time and time again as her father would teach her how to play. Under closer inspection, Cithrel spotted a torn piece of paper folded behind one of the strings. She eagerly but carefully unfolded it to reveal the words “it’s not your fault” scribbled frantically on the small paper shred. This small shred reminded Cithrel of another letter she had received, and she quickly pulled out her father’s note and placed the two together. They were the same piece of paper. With so many questions, Cithrel hurried to her mother, begging for the whereabouts of her father. If his departure was not a result of herself, then why did he leave? Cithrel’s mother would not respond to anything her daughter said, making Cithrel question the trust she had in her own mother. Could she be trusted? What did she know that Cithrel didn’t? Who’s to say she didn’t send her husband away? With a million questions running through her head, Cithrel decided there and then that she would have to find out what happened to her father herself. Present Day After eight long years of studying the only thing her father left behind, his lute, as well as bettering her skills with a stave, Cithrel made the difficult decision to leave her siblings behind with their mother and embark on an adventure that would hopefully result in discovering the truth surrounding her father’s sudden disappearance. In her youth, Cithrel recalled her father talking fondly of a place called Regalia, describing the beautiful shops and diverse array of people while promising Cithrel that he would someday visit and bring her with him. With a bittersweet taste of freedom as well as a dreadful feeling of doubt, Cithrel Uridi Venzana took the first boat to Regalia and prepared herself for the journey ahead.
