The classic argument of "the ends justify the means" applies to him fittingly. While others may criticise the actions of politicians, nobles and generals as immoral and inhumane on occasion- this has never phased Cillian too greatly. He's of the mindset that suffering is just a matter of life- a great filter that casts away the weak as though they were fat trimmings on a prime cut. That's not to say that he's not incapable of thinking in kindness or with empathy, it's just a matter of who it is directed to and for what reasons. ⋙ Character Personality | Commander ✥ Commanders are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However as he would grow older, with more exposure to the Unionist Regalian settlements in the North he would- while not necessarily having his own faith called into question, would appreciate the divergence of views. While not a particularly religious soul anyway, he finds the ways of Unionism an interesting take on the world around him, but has no current plans to convert nor to force his own religion on the ears of those who would rather not hear it. Because of this fact- he remains quiet as to his faith, telling no one but his closest of friends his true religious leanings. Born the only son and heir to Patrick Gallagher, one of many Low-Kings who occupied the positions of minor nobility in the courts of Ériu-Innis. His birth came at a time of hardship for the family. Being blessed with his arrival toward the start of a harsh winter- and with the family’s holdings currently engaged in a war with their neighbors. Thus Cillian spent his infant years in the arms of his mother, his young Father having been second in line to the family’s crown until his brother's untimely death, he was seen little- prioritising the leading of his army. Sadly however, the harsh winter and bloody war took the life of Cillian's father at an early age- leaving the infant to inherit his title with his mother as acting Regent. Noticing the value Cillian would be should he fall into enemy hands, he was sent to study under Druids on the isle of Mórra- where religious tradition barred any harm to come onto him, while simultaneously giving Cillian an early education into traditional Draoidh Feya teachings, reading and writing. With the war concluding with the defeat of his family, House Gallagher became a sworn vassal to a separate Low-King. Yet with a determined Mother who wasn’t terribly keen to see the now thirteen year old Cillian butchered to place a more favorable Heir, he was sent as so many wealthy Ériunin nobles were to the world-renowned schools of Regalia, being enrolled first in Dormin Naval School of Thought, before then being placed in the Imperial Regalian Naval Academy- the young man took naturally to the affairs of naval logistics and management, spending the latter year of his final tenure at the Regalian Naval Academy shadowing an Anglian wing-admiral in convoy defense. The family was blessed by their Highland cousins in Regalia at the time, House Mac Conall- who aided in housing the young man during his studies in Regalia. Following his education, Cillian entered the world of politics within the capital, initially serving the ranks of the diplomatic corps before distinguishing himself upon his appointment as Lifeguard Commissioner. Following the vote of no confidence in Lord Chancellor Reinard, Cillian found himself directly appointed as Whip Minister- a role befitting of his sceptical nature and sense of duty in ensuring the Government functions as best as possible. With the horizon not yet clear, Cillian has been granted the vast Ériunin isles to the north-west of continental Regalia. While splitting from his Mac Conall kin he does indeed still hold the generosity and sense of family close to his heart. Time alone will tell of what fortune or failure will find the young Gallagher.
