Hey everyone! You may have heard of some people leading race/culture-specific groups such as the Url, Isldar, Magical and Allar communities and basically, I have decided to start stirring the pot in the Eastern side of Aloria.

This is an open forum about the potential of the Sihai in Regalia. Do you guys want more events, more Sihai in general? More noodles? Tell us!

Things I would like to know before I move any further..
  • Are you excited for the Sihai release? If so, let us know!
  • Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
  • Would you be interested in Sihai themed events such as food festivals, religious events, cultural gatherings and possibly even a 'Chinatown' like area? Speak your mind, we need your input!
How would you guys like to see a formalized group of Sihai character interact?
  • A rag-tag Chinatown group filled with noodle shops, wares, old people, and magic?
  • A culture centre filled with the refined, more docile Sihai
  • A council of Sihai who will IC further the culture and their impact on Regalia
  • Eastern nobility?
  • All of it? Speak now, or forever hold your peace!
For those who are in no way interested in playing a Sihai character..
  • First of all, how dare you
  • Secondly! Please tell us why! I want to know what isn't fun for you guys!
  • Third, I want to know what we could do to change your mind, throw anything at us!

Yes pls release it. asap.
  • Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
I have one in mind, a daughter to a certain ithanian born chi (Sihai) raised noble lady.
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
Yes, look above.

Yes!!!!!! Personally, I'd love to see Regalia transform into a Republic City (ATLA: LOK) sort of feel. Or NYC feel. Yes we all live in the city, but there are different areas and communities with their own drama and plots going on.

All of the above! Maybe an Embassy of sorts that displays what the "cultured" or upperclass Sihai want the Regalians want to view their people as while the "Chinatown" is a truer insight into the lower working class people. Eastern nobility, should imo, fold into regular nobility in the same way that Ithanian nobility are given titles and the like. They may not hold actual physical realms, but still have the titles and respect as their Regalia counterparts...

OR, it'd be awesome for an Eastern nobility system to be put into place that would be focused at this Embassy or w/e ruled by the council idea? idk I'm excited!

Are you excited for the Sihai release? If so, let us know!
  • Indeed. if the race design poll is still relevant, I'm excited to make an owl-like sihai.
Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
  • I have an eastern raised Varran at the moment, no actual Ch'ien-Ji mainly because I'm waiting for the release of the sihai when eastern knowledge and other aspects of the sihai culture are relevant
Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
  • Indeed. I've been toying with concepts for awhile, including the owl idea.

  • I'd love a 'Chinatown' with nice events

A rag-tag Chinatown group filled with noodle shops, wares, old people, and magic?
  • I don't think this needs to be a group just a street in v5, sorta like the street lizmun applied for
A culture centre filled with the refined, more docile Sihai
  • Interesting idea, shaolin monks would be quite cool
A council of Sihai who will IC further the culture and their impact on Regalia
  • This along with eastern nobility would be great. I'd love to see sihai nobility in Regalia as a not full opposite to Regalian nobility but just a different flavor to noble rp.

    • I do have one, yes.
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
    • I plan to turn my current Chi into Sihai, yes
  • Would you be interested in Sihai themed events such as food festivals, religious events, cultural gatherings and possibly even a 'Chinatown' like area? Speak your mind, we need your input!
    • Already doing something like this, actually! I offered up a neighborhood for the V5 registry, It was originally intended as a general eastern alorian place, but with 9 - 10 Sihai and only 2 Qadir, it's looking tot urn into a Sihai town of sorts. I'd gladly welcome any Chi / Sihai rpers to come around and populate the neighborhood when it is built

    • That'd be really cool. I'd love to see interesting points for like, astronomy and celestial worship and the like. Maybe dragon dances and other cultural things like that.

I am excited! I think it'll revitalise the race and I look forward to seeing what's in store.
  • Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
I do not because I was previously uninterested in trying something that strayed from Ailor culture, but I am now interested in trying it with the upcoming release and from interacting with existing Ch'ien.
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
I am! It will likely be a half Chi, because of existing plans and a desire to have a mix of cultures, but this depends on how they work with the new lore.
  • Would you be interested in Sihai themed events such as food festivals, religious events, cultural gatherings and possibly even a 'Chinatown' like area? Speak your mind, we need your input!
I would definitely enjoy the occasional Sihai themed event, mainly to meet new characters and have a proper group for religious RP if desired. Having an area for this would be even better and I'd definitely get involved in a big way.

I think that a rag-town Chinatown area would be the most beneficial, maybe with a large shrine and open space that can be used for cultural events. I think larger events could be done elsewhere in an event hall or could take up the entire area, both being ways of exposing the Sihai culture beyond the odd little gathering. I wouldn't say that a council is needed to run the community, nor nobility unless it was an NPC visit, but it could be fun to have an Elder or two who can be requested for advice and who run the gatherings/events for the Sihai. This would suit the rag-tag aesthetic a lot better whilst allowing for a leadership figure or two.

Before I begin I'll just say this is mostly an outsider's view since I haven't had the chance to ever play a Chi'i and don't hold a current interest in it because I have too many characters on my plate, but I thought it'd be rad to state how the Chi'i may be seen from an outsider's view once this update is done, and what the view is as of right now.

  • Are you excited for the Sihai release? If so, let us know!
Yeah.. I've been waiting for a while for it to see if I'm going to be interested in the race as a whole. From what I've seen so far it sort of reminds me of Imperial China or something of the sorts. Would be rad to see what's been developed and what is to come.
  • Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
I don't have one because there hasn't been much of a presence and the niche feels a lil' too magical-esque and focuses a lot on the previous trustee system, but this is basically null & void because of the changes. So we'll see what there's to do, and my opinion will probably change.
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
Well. That's very much depending on the ends that I can take one as. Hopefully the niche will be broad enough as a culture to fit in some interesting character ideas besides the idea of a 'smart scholar chi'i doing magic and dragons.'
  • Would you be interested in Sihai themed events such as food festivals, religious events, cultural gatherings and possibly even a 'Chinatown' like area? Speak your mind, we need your input!
Yeah. That'd be nice to have compared to the bland events that are carbon-copies of one another.

I'll just sum it up with this:

If there's a specific neighborhood, not a complete district because that'd take away from the compactness of the new Regalia unless you squished the homes together, then it'll open up for players to traverse in there and experience the culture without having to play a Sihai. This would allow a multitude of players with different character niches to have a reason to interact with the neighborhood since I'm assuming it'll have shops and stalls with a wide variety of services. In the end it would be interesting to interact with them.

As for the rich nobility side of it: It would be interesting to have it set-up in a manner like a foreign Chinese court sending dignitaries and whatnot or it'd be cool to see it set-up like the Cro-Allar nobility. Though, this all depends on the population of the community and its success.

I'm on mobile, so please excuse me if this is short.
  1. Totally, I just finished the Vah Medoh quest line on Breath of the Wild (I know, it's sad) and I've been dying for the bird-dynasty to come out (The Greater or Love Dynasty I think). I kowthey can't fly, but I would love to make a character like Revali.
  2. No, mostly because I'm to lazy to make one. They don't seem to be the most interesting besides the whole Jade Wall concept. I think this new Sihai update will be great though.
  3. Yes.
  4. Yes.

    • Of course. Excited to see the expansion on the race itself and what new stuff it'll bring.
  • Do you already have a Ch'ien-Ji character, if not, tell us why?
    • I currently do.
  • Are you planning to make a Chi/Sihai character in the future?
    • Planning to continue my Ch'ien-Ji/ Sihai.
  • Would you be interested in Sihai themed events such as food festivals, religious events, cultural gatherings and possibly even a 'Chinatown' like area? Speak your mind, we need your input!
    • Oh, definitely. The 'Chinatown' idea could easily be made reality through the neighbourhood system, and if I'm correct, @Lizmun 's neighbourhood is already eastern-based, so that would be settled. Regarding events: Certainly. There is lots of traditional stuff that could be turned into in-game events, and the Sihai update will only bring even more ideas with their cultural expansion.
How would you guys like to see a formalized group of Sihai character interact?
  • A mix of all the things mentioned, however have it go more towards the direction of the first two bullet points - unless, people seem willing to step up for Sihai nobility. That would probably make a neat change to majority of all Sihai players, and allow them to contribute in a way.
