Two Ailor children bustled through the Regalian street, the leader being a tidy, Claith girl who strode rather than frolicked- unlike her follower that was a black-haired boy that trotted along like a giddy horse. The two turned off from Main Street to the left, having been coming from the tavern, and chattered with laughter as they carried along.
"Are you sure you know where you're going, Wini?" The boy panted a bit as he rocketed forward a few steps to catch up with her unheeded stride. Despite her lack of energy when it came to jogging, she could certainly march a mile.
"Of course I know where I'm going, Lucien. It's right here." The ginger girl unclasped her hands to gesture towards their right where large building sat, entrance wide open for any to enter. With the building's such welcoming attitude, Winifred took the invitation and continued right into the Almshouse without a pause until she reached the lobby of the ground floor. Lucien, her partner in this adventure, halted besides her not a moment later, glancing towards her face as if waiting for a reaction or word. The, usually, quiet girl stuck to her expectations and said not a word for a long moment before calling, "Lady Black, are you home!"
Both fifteen year olds feel silent to listen, heads cocked towards either side to note any reply from above. When none came, they shared a glance and then the von Rahm began her way forward and up the steps, Hath just at her heels. Upon reaching the second floor, she called again as she paced across- not expecting any answer.
While his friend searched about for the noblewoman of the Almshouse, Lucien drew distracted by the kitchen off to his right, turning his attention away from scene at hand to peer through the open window. There he spotted something seemed to be baking, and while it didn't look anywhere near done, he couldn't stop the small rumble in his stomach.
Once finally dragging his attention away, he caught sight of his friend's green uniform passing around the corner several feet away- dragging him to jogging across with a shout of, "Hey wait up!"
The Claith paused on her way to wait for Lucien, smiling once he'd caught up before continuing on her way towards the stone steps that spiraled at the side of the building. She peered into the stairwell, blinking before stepping her way on up. For a moment, only the sound of two pairs of feet echoed through the stairwell as they climbed until reaching a ladder. Winifred glanced towards her friend before carefully dragging herself upwards, hands shaking a moment. Lucien lifted his hands a bit, perhaps waiting to take his turn up the rungs or to be sure his friend didn't lose her balance, though she paid no mind.
Once she had safely dragged herself up, the boy followed after and blinked as he noticed they were upon the roof of the Almshouse. The two glanced about, noting that the early sky was getting brighter than it had been when they met outside the tavern, having both been on early errands. Lucien suddenly brightened up and hurried across the roof of the stairwell to pull himself over the high railing to clamber onto the sloping roof.
Winifred watched him go, fidgeting as she stayed put on the flat and safe stone below, frowning a bit as she was left behind.
"What if you fall, Lucien?" Her lips pressed together in her usual nervous manner, sighing softly.
"I won't fall, don't worry."
She huffed then, clasping her hands together again to turn her head towards the left go watch the sun- seeing the light growing brighter upon the horizon, but from her spot it was hardly visible with the towering houses. She folded her arms briefly before lifting them to grab hold of the fencing before the slanted roof. Her feet kicked a bit at the wall to get a grip before the Claith finally managed to drag herself up, unnoticed by Lucien who was staring off at the sunrise.
"Look, it's pretty up here," stated the dark haired boy, leaning forward a bit on his ledge. Winifred gave a small noise of disapproval as he leaned, glancing off the roof to see the glass roof directly below them several yards down.
"If you fall, you'll go through that glass."
"I won't fall." Winifred rolled her eyes at his response, slowly dragging herself upwards to sit on the slanted roof by her friend's feet, clinging to the wood. Silence fell over the two soon after, clinging to their respected section of the roof as the sun climbed higher into the sky, stretching her arms out and brightening Regalia with official morning. Winifred's face brightened as the warmth brushed against her face, the fifteen year old rather pleased with the summer sunlight despite the burn it would likely cause if she stayed out too long.
"I have to be at an event soon, Lucien," Winifred finally stated, breaking the silence with a sigh. Her friend turned his attention down to her before nodding with argument, growing tired of sun watching anyways.
Rather than wait for his friend, the boy scrambled on down the slope with ease and vault himself on over the fencing to the stone roof of the stairwell. His Claith friend gave a gulp, though, and scooted on down the roof rather than step. Her fingers clinged to the roof as she crawled down to the fence and carefully dragged herself over- waving her arms to keep herself up.
"Need help down?" Lucien lifted his dark brows at his noble friend, the girl pressing her lips together with a worried expression returning as she nodded- stuck in spot despite it only being a short drop.
That was something she appreciated of the Hath, his acceptance in her sharp and irrational fears. He lifted his arms and helped her down from the ledge back to safety, placing her steadily on her feet and giving a noting the fact that she seemed to be shaking just slightly now even though she'd been in almost no danger.
"You're okay, it wasn't that scary," he stated, releasing her and stepping back.
"I could've died, what if I fell!"
"You would not have fallen." Lucien rolled his eyes and stepped on towards the ladder. Winifred paused though, fidgeting as she considered something.
"Thank you, Lucien," she finally managed, following after. The boy glanced back towards her at the statement, blinking before grinning.
"No problem, Wini."
"You'll come see the event, right?"
He shrugged, though she seemed to notice he didn't appear as if he had anywhere else to be. So they bustled on through the streets again, feet kicking up dust their second time through as if now both were wild children off on an adventure as usual.
