Chairs currently will occasionally halt you when writing a message be it in chat or when writing a book making it distasteful to RP in them or do any business in them other than wait for people.

Is it possible for me to sit at my desk and do my things without interruptions?

No, not to my knowledge.
Seriosuly, I know nothing about the bug. Last time it was discussed, it was marked as really difficult to fix.

Ah i didnt think it was even a bug. I thought it was just a feature? im not sure what i thought it was lol.

meanwhile this seems to be a massive specific thing since the other server I've been on with thing hasn't done this...and I'm pretty sure this is because massive is using some overly complicated method to do this...

My lazy butt would spend so much more time in a throne if we could fix this.

Also sad it's practically impossible to hold meetings seated around a table in game. RP fail.

I made all the chairs in my house and cafe like the ones in tavern- the slab chairs with the door-backs.
