During the month of September, the Sihai celebrate C’en’te, a festival wherein we pay respects to the Moon— servant of the Loong Dragons. In its observance, people are to not eat during the day and share a bountiful dinner with friends, family, and neighbors under the moon throughout the whole span of the month. However, this year, House Reinard av Fristadvlom would like to offer the nobility, aristocracy, and others of good standing to join in this tradition for one night. While none are expected to refrain from eating in the daytime, they are free to do such out of respect or to have a better grasp of the experience. Other than such, there will be no expectation for guests to worship either the Moon or the Loong. This will strictly be an event to allow those with varying cultures and views to experience an aspect of Sihai culture without having to be uncomfortable or hindered by religious boundaries. There will be a recommendation: Wearing full white clothing even with a bit of color to differentiate as one may wish. You may also wear a colorful mask of your choosing, even if it is not necessarily of the Sihai opera variety. The main part of this event will be a feast showcasing various dishes of Sihai cuisine— Recipes from Mainland Dexai’s more formalized tastes to the Outer Isles’ new creations born from trade and cooperation. To prevent stagnancy and a quiet dinner, every person is expected to share one good memory they had under the moonlight from their past, recent or far off from now. Depending upon the number of guests, we may only be able to get to some. The purpose of this last segment is to allow for various guests to speak and also to better learn from one another and our pasts, reflecting and realizing how far we have all come. Where: Kadois | The Reinard av Fristadvlom Estate When: 12th September 308AC | 6pm EST Ideas: Cultural Understanding, Feasting, and Reflection Important Notes: All families of Nobility and Aristocracy will be most appreciated in sending a letter to Her Ladyship, Novellia Reinard av Fristadvlom, concerning the number of family members able to attend to ensure everyone will have a seat at the tables. Those not of nobility or aristocracy can send a letter to Her Ladyship to be allowed to participate and attend. The said applicant must be of good standing and have no criminal background. Those with a verifiable sponsorship from a noble house will have more ease in the process. Nobles are allowed to bring a plus one to the event. This extra guest will have to be approved prior to the date. Responsibility of said guest’s behavior is upon the noble who invited them.
