Although, her views on the dragons have been twisted. Partially due to her newfound Cahalism, but also due to a conversation she has had even before being infected. Cati has become convinced that dragons imprisoned Estel in an attempt to take her place. Cati is extremely religious and faithful, but, also not devoted to any one religion, believing in a mix of Fridurfolk’s old gods, Mother Estel, the Everwatcher, and even faith in dragons, as they brought her adoptive mother Elena back from the dead. (For more context see Optional Details) Cati is a flimsy "warrior" and Bloodcast Schilder starting her combat training at the age of seven, yet she is also gentle and caring, to an extreme degree of pacifism; she will never do more than defend in a fight, even if it is life or death, although she is willing to be slightly more offensive (albeit with great restraint) if another person is in harm’s way. She has all kinds of flora and plants growing on her, even mushrooms. Her skin becomes a healthy brown wooden color. Cati is still recognizable, although she's much like a very colorful tree. She always wears her hair in twin buns but lets the rest of it flow freely. She’s exactly six feet tall, with oak-brown hair, and she’s also fairly average in terms of how she’s built. She mostly wears family hand-me-downs. Life Story Cati was born in a Fridurfolk village to Cati Narana and Helrid Narana. At the age of 6, her father was pronounced dead, and, without her mother ever saying goodbye or explaining why, Cati was sent away on a ship to Regalia. Cati was homeless for the first few months she lived in Regalia, drifting around the city and sleeping in odd, secluded places. Alton Rider found her and took her in, and after an incident involving Mirabella’s coven, he and his sister Elena Wilson became Cati’s legal guardians, although others did take on a parental role for her and helped shape Cati as a person. Cati soon after became a Schilder to Bloodcast Knight Mathias Sava Terro, and her experiences in Regalia for the years following were more than eventful Now, Cati, as she had been for years already, continues to roam Regalia, trying to act and serve as a fully-fledged knight despite graduation still being three years away. Her main goal in life is to serve and help anyone and everyone, in whatever way she can, in the same way that her parents and role models have done for her, and what they have done for others. This applies to everyone, peasants and nobles alike. People of all races, and regardless of affliction. Never refuse to provide aid, no matter who it is that needs it, even your own worst nemesis or a person who's tried to kill you (unless helping them conflicts with the other verdicts). Never back down in a fight. Never run from an issue or conflict. Always stand your ground. Talk things out. Solve the problem. Leaving only leaves it to get worse. Never strike first or strike back, and NEVER KILL no matter how much a person may deserve it - Only defend, evade, and reason. Or lose. There is an exception to this. When another person's life is on the line, force may be used. But be as minimal as possible, and be sure to help whoever it is you hurt immediately after rendering them incapable of killing. Violence, even with great restraint, should be an absolute last resort. Be kind and respectful, and know that the tongue is your sharpest weapon. Use it when you need to, but it is a double edged weapon, and using words can just as easily make things worse. So avoid that. This is why being kind is so important, on top of just being a part of having some decency as a person. There are times however when harsh words must be used. Spoiler Cati has a signature "happy dance", and even though she's been doing it her life, she's still terrible at it. That's why it's her "signature" dance. When she's happy she'll also be far more open and trusting, although she's really only happy when others around her are. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? Spoiler Cati freezes up, stutters, and slows her breaths to an almost suffocating halt. Instead of running or screaming she just turns into a statue, not exactly the most effective method of dealing with fear but that's her instinct. Cati fears insects, heights, death, violent encounters and sewer water. Cati also constantly checks her backside, always on edge since Elena loves to sneak up behind her and give her a good scare. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Spoiler She bottles it up until it explodes in short, overwhelming bursts: Hair pulling, hyperventilating, tomato-red face, sometimes she'll cry about it, and if she's really stressed, she'll even hurl up her last meal. Whenever she has these emotional outbursts it's not a pleasant sight. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Spoiler With admiration and respect, especially since most of her friends and family are either guards or knights of some form. This, however, does not mean she is a very lawful or law-abiding citizen. Part of her beliefs and her code is that she must be of help and service to anyone and everyone. Peasant and noble alike. Guard and criminal. Friend and foe. This means if she sees a person disliked by many, even someone wanted dead, she will still help them in times of need, even if it renders her a criminal or otherwise. Cati tries to keep an open mind and have compassion for everyone, in the way Helrid wished her to before his passing away, teaching her the ideals she inherited as both Fleeting and Fridur folk. Hence her middle name, which translates to "Compassion" in Skodje. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Spoiler Cati is for the most part indifferent to other races, viewing them as no different than her own, though each race's distinctive traits, cultures and abilities fascinate her to no end. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Spoiler Cati's not atheistic, agnostic, or loyal to any one belief. But she is very faithful. Her birth father, a native Cielothar, was sure to pass on the belief of mother Estel onto Cati. Living in a Fridurfolk village for the first 6 years of her life, she was also taught of the old gods and the roles they play in nature. Moving to Regalia, she had been introduced to Unionism. Cati was a bit skeptical at first, but as time went on she opened up to it, and was pretty much completely sold when she witnessed the Everwatcher's massive iris in the sky. She is also very grateful and dedicated to her respect and appraisal of dragons, considering all they have done. Both her adoptive mother, and her aunt, have been brought back from the dead as Archbloods. Even if that were not the case, Cati thinks dragons are totally badass, especially after witnessing them throughout the city when Xilthruum had control over Greygate, and hearing stories about them from people like Novellia, a humble, heroic and caring Warden. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Spoiler Although Cati understands next to nothing about magic, she is absolutely marveled by it and is amazed whenever someone shows her any form of magic. How does your character feel towards their family? Spoiler To Cati, family matters most, and any time they are hurting, she is hurting. She has done some not-so-smart things for the sake of her family, from running into the sewers and offering herself as a prisoner to a coven to be with her father, to writing a letter to Xilthruum himself, handing it to him in Greygate asking for her family's safety. Cati would die for her family in a heartbeat, and with what happened to her father and how her mother seemingly abandoned her, the Cielothar is especially clingy when it comes to her adopted family. Family is also the main reason Cati decided she wanted to learn to fight in the first place, she was tired of seeing them constantly getting hurt and not being able to do anything about it. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Spoiler Her art skills, especially her baking. It’s taste is practically enough to make a person cry tears of pure bliss. She mostly writes poems and plays music for fun, but she takes pride in her hobbies nonetheless. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Spoiler Family and friends Helping people Kindness, both when she has the opportunity to give it, and when she witnesses it put into action by other people Peace, one step at a time A safer, friendlier world. This is a very naïve ambition but it really keeps her going All of the issues she has been exposed to, and how at the time she was mostly powerless to give any kind of resolve What is your character's biggest insecurity? Spoiler She knows she's getting good at fighting, but she is not by any means proud of it. It's actually the opposite: The stronger she gets the more she hates it and the more guilt she feels. But again, Cati does it for her friends, her family, and the sake of peace. What is your character's biggest fear? Spoiler Violence, death and losing those she holds dear. She's lost a few people already and it hits her like a truck every time. Without her family, Cati has, and is in her eyes, nothing. Physically, she’s very frail. Not a twig, but certainly not durable. Philosophically, she is almost entirely set in stone on her belief in nonviolence, but that belief is easy to manipulate nonetheless. She is also guaranteed to lose in a duel because of her pacifism, but when others are in danger, she will act and is willing to even attack. Yet, even then, Cati fights with great restraint. She serves more as a good distraction than an actual worthy foe. Although, do be wary of her bolas, which she is very skilled with.
Hey, uh, this is probably my fault from editing the optional stuff so much but, I noticed it no longer has a review tag on it, at least from my side. I probably bugged it out lol, that's my bad. Is it possible to fix? Should I repost?
So, the update is still pending, so this can just wait until that. Parent Language should be what they grew up around. Please specify if someone your character has met was either fluent in Skodje or mark it down as Saan, a Cielothar language. You'll probably just have to swap the parenthesis around your point-buy and parent one.
