    Position in Regalia
Cassiel has only recently arrived in Regalia after several years of traveling. In order to escape his family, he had enrolled in school and continuously traveled after his graduation, and therefore is not on the best terms with/temporarily disowned and cut off by his parents. He is currently renting an apartment in the Ithanian District of Regalia and awaiting word from his siblings, hopeful that they will join him in Regalia and perhaps help him gain favor with their parents once again.

    Upbringing
Cassiel was born to Nathaniel du Marchand and Amadine Grande Pouvoire Deforet, and was raised on their family estate, a chateau by the sea, near La Portée du Paradis (Havenreach). He enjoyed a privileged upbringing, indulging in the best, be it food, clothes, or anything else he desired. He has three legitimate siblings and a unknownst amount of illegitimate siblings. Beyond his immediate family, the du Marchands are distantly related to some other, old Ithanian families.

    Ambitions
Currently, Cassiel is trying to regain his parents’ favor (and their money) as well as settle down and establish himself in Regalia, as well as mingle within the higher social circles of Regalia.[IMG]

    Face
He has deep-set, almost brooding, stormy-blue eyes that seem to slant or squint slightly, almost cat-like, that sit below eyebrows, which possess a slight downwards slant in the inner half which lends a mischievous look. His gaze is usually nonchalant, but always observant, with a slight hint of judgment from their perch. Cassiel has an oblong face with angular, sharp cheekbones and caved in cheeks which seem to give off the false impression of a sculpted jaw. He has a straight nose that has a slightly pointed tip and his thin lips that seem to always have a sly smirk.

    Body

Cassiel stands around 5'9 and weighs approximately 160lbs, he was always lithe and skinny, until he was enrolled into a school of combat. He has put on quite a bit of muscle, though still remaining sinewy and feline-like, his body comparable to that of a dancer rather than a warrior. He has the long, thin fingers of a pianist or perhaps a painter, and when he's been anxious or nervous about something impending, his nails would be chipped and chewed. His elegant hands are marred with callouses from years of wielding a blade, however. Cassiel has no tattoos, though he wishes for them, he hasn't found any time or anything meaningful enough to mark himself with. Cassiel looks more of a boy than a man and lacks the body hair and facial hair that most boys his age behind to exhibit.

    Clothing

Cassiel is accustomed to wearing rich, luxurious silks and he loves how it feels against his skin, how it looks, while still remaining comfortable. He loves to dress peacock-y; bright colors, rich fabrics, expensive jewels. On most days, he wears a simple white silk shirt, with flowy trousers and leather boots for ease of getting around, as well as an embroidered seagreen coat, one of his family’s colors. Cassiel has a variety jewelry, though his favorites are his rings, often seen donning on multiple at a time. The one ring he always wears, however, is a simple signet ring with his family crest of herons. He also carries a rapier with him; its long slender blade is usually sheathed, only exposing the fanciful hilt.

    Voice

Cassiel usually talks very slowly, trying carefully to remain calm and controlled, an attempt to not give away too much of himself. He always does this so he can enunciate properly and speak Common as well as he can. However, in more private settings with those he is more comfortable, he gets quite chirpy and chatty; talking much faster and more expressive. This phenomenon is even more pronounced when in the presence of those who can speak D’Ithanie. He can speak D’Ithanie quite well because it is his mother tongue, and Common because that was most of what he studied. After graduation from his school, he traveled around and spent quite a bit of time in Montania, where he picked up a bit of Dressolini as well.[IMG]

First Paragraph: Upon first meeting Cassiel, many would judge him rather quickly, as a reaction to his seemingly judge-y demeanor. At first, he may seem pretentious, haughty, intimidating and a bit cold. While he is a bit of all of those, he is mainly just shy and afraid to reveal himself to people too soon, which is why he projects an aura of being unapproachable. His personality renders him as being more awkward in social situations (especially with large groups of strangers); he often struggles to keep the conversation flowing and is dependent upon others approaching him to instigate conversation and friendships. This cycle of him seeming unapproachable and himself being too shy to approach others is why he has very few friends.

Second Paragraph: Cassiel is plagued by a plethora of anxieties and insecurities. He has is tormented by a constant, gnawing sense of inadequacy and uncertainty. His perfectionist attitude, voracious “appetite” and ever-rising standards cause him to never be satisfied with himself or others, always wanting “more”. This leaves little room for any true confidence; his projected haughtiness is just an attempt to mask his lack of self-esteem.

Third Paragraph: When around family, Cassiel becomes much more restrained and withdrawn than he even is with strangers. He and most of his family share a very formal, business-like relationship. The only family he is rather close to is his twin sister. With friends, he is much more warm, especially as he becomes more familiar with them. much like a cat. Cassiel’s affections and loyalty are hard to earn but well worth it, once those bonds are established.

Fourth Paragraph: Cassiel was raised in a Unionist household. Though Ithanian culture preaches liberal, free thought, his Amadine ruled the du Marchand household with the iron first of a matriarch; strict and authoritarian. His ideas and perspective of the world were rather restricted until he was able to leave the confines of the family estate and travel the world, using schooling as an excuse to have his parents fund his travels. Cassiel’s morality does not exist on a black a white scale, but rather in shades of gray, best described as a Chaotic Neutral. However, he is actually quite understanding of others and tries to sees things from perspectives other than his own, though the inherent biases he harbors from his upbringing do affect his judgment sometimes, as he always seems to feel his mother’s hounding presence, looming over his shoulder; tends to have an air of entitlement as well.

Dominic du Marchand - 35 - Eldest brother: A father figure of sorts to Cassiel and a figure whom he idolizes and wishes he could be; inspired Cassiel to go to a combat school and travel in order to escape their family. A military man who is very protective of all his younger siblings.

Camille du Marchand - 27 - Twin sister: Quite close to Cassiel; have complimentary personalities and the two balance each other out. Though she seems like just another Ithanian socialite, she is very intelligent and ambitious, poised to become the next du Marchand matriarch.

“Io” Iofiel du Marchand - 21 - Younger brother: Cassiel is not close to his youngest brother; he is rather estranged from the rest of his siblings due to the wide age gap, paired with his already mischievous, immature behavior.

Nathaniel du Marchand - 70 - Father: Very absent man in the lives of the children. Mainly focused on his work as well as his other ventures abroad, finding other ways outlets for his repressed masculinity.

Amadine Grande Pouvoire du Marchand-Deforet - 67 - Matriarch: A woman who ruled her household like an empress rules an empire. She does love her children but is unable to express her love in a typical fashion. She only wishes the best for her children, which is why she pushes them so hard to strive for perfection and achievement, often pushing them away from her in the process.

Cassiel du Marchand was born to Amadine and Nathaniel Marchand on the night of the winter solstice of that year, in their lavish chateau. Before the first child had even begun to cry, the midwife pulled out a second child, a girl. Amadine held the twins, exhausted from the long hours of labor as her eldest son, Dominic, watched on from the side; Nathaniel was nowhere to be found. The remainder of the childrens’ upbringing happened in a similar fashion: absent father, distant, domineering mother and many servants taking care of them. This lead to the children all becoming rather close to each other as they’ve only had each other to depend upon.

    287AC

A few years had passed and the du Marchand household now had a grand total of four blond-headed children running about. Cassiel could often be found waddling behind Dominic, like a lost duckling, attempting anything Dominic was doing at the time. Dominic was already developing into a robust, young man, while Cassiel looked like a sapling, about to be topped by the wind at any moment. It was around this time that Dominic had begun his combat training, eventually going into the School of Viridian. Cassiel watched as his older brother trained with the other young men near their villa, often clumsily mimicking their motions, performing for an audience that consisted of Cami and Io.

    289AC

At the age of ten, Amadine and Nathaniel had decided to send Cassiel off to school after years of his incessant begging. The family situation wasn’t all that great either and Nathaniel hoped to keep it from his children by sending them off to schools elsewhere. Dom was shipped off to Regalia to the School of Viridian, while Cass was sent to Daenshore to train at the School of Mariposa. This was the tradition in the family for men to be trained, as well as handle trade while the women managed everything else. This left Cami at home to aid her mother in running the various businesses of the family and managerial tasks, causing her to mature much faster than the rest of her brothers.

    299AC

After ten years of studying, Cassiel finally graduated from his school. From there, he quickly decided he would travel to the Montania and Vultaro region. He quickly immersed himself within the culture and integrated himself amongst the locals -- training with fencers and frolicking amongst the waves like a Dressolini. He found it invigorating to expose himself to something new, taking in the art, the music, and the food, which was quite the contrast to the first twenty years of his life: half of which was spent on a chateau/compound and the other half was spent in a school.

    300AC

Eventually, it was time for Cassiel to move on. Besides, money was beginning to run low; he hadn’t been in contact with much of his family since he had decided to go rogue and travel for 7 years after his graduation. He decided he would go to Regalia, perhaps try to find his brother first before contacting the rest of his siblings, and eventually his parents. Until the rest of his family arrives in Regalia, he probably needs to find some friends…. And a job.

    My Review:
    • You have unfortunately miscalculated his Proficiency Points. When you go to a School, you spend 10 Proficiency Points to get 30 back, +10 in each Proficiency that School teaches. You have him going to a School and still having 27 points to spend, so please remove 10 Points.
    • You have mislabeled the Personality Paragraphs as "Visual Information". Additionally, I ask that you add one point of content to the First Personality Paragraph.

I apologize, I mistyped: It is a +10 per Proficiency in a School, not +30, I corrected myself in the review post. Please change this @babbleboi
