This thread is not necessarily canonical. It is merely just speculation and my personal takes. The thread will be split into six sections based around each Dynasty, and one general section. I will use real-life Chinese tradition to base the ideas off of. Special thanks to @MonMarty for inspiring with this thread: https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/case-study-on-allar-behavior.67577/
Traits of All Sihai:
All Sihai vary greatly in appearance. As such, finding common traits is near impossible. As such, I'll be focusing on cultural traditions.
- Sihai do not like skin-on-skin contact. The wiki states this, and as such, I imagine that bows would take the place handshakes.
- Public displays of romantic affection would likely be frowned upon. Things like holding hands would be a no-go, and this goes double for kissing in public. Affection would likely not even be expressed with speech, and would purely be on an ask-basis. You would likely not know a Sihai couple was courting unless you specifically asked.
- Sihai dislike reflections, as stated on the wiki, as they feel the world is to not be reflected. Sihai houses would lack mirrors, but also likely glazed pottery, plates, silverware, and more. Wood would be used in place of metal. Sihai would likely keep all Regals locked away, only bringing them out when needed. Sihai dislike gold for its reflective properties, preferring jade and matte-metals. Windows would likely be covered in curtains or screens. often. This will keep their reflections from being seen. Wood floors would be unvarnished. Clockwork would be rarely be used, as the brass would carry reflections.
- Half-breeds are widely disliked. They'd be seen like Bui-Doi, the children of American soldiers and Vietnamese women during the Vietnam War. Treated as outcastes, likely seeking out friendlier pastures in places like Regalia, where most citizens would not notice the difference.
- Sihai become uncomfortable at the mention of sex, as stated on the wiki, and would also likely be uncomfortable at the scantly-dressed and sexualitzed. They would remove themselves from the situation if at all possible.
- Sihai would likely prefer brushes to pens, pencils, or quills. They would be more used to the brush as a writing instrument, and also to artistic endevors.
Common Dynasty Sihai are the most human-like of all Dynasties. They appear as real-life East-Asian humans. All Sihai are born in the Common Dynasty.
- The Common Dynasty would be the most calm of Sihai. Though most Sihai Dynasties are level-headed at most times. They are unlikely to get heated in arguments or to get angry. Their emotions would likely be fairly center, with only leans towards extremes.
- They would be very scholarly. Their heads would be buried in books or scrolls at most of the free times.
- Common Dynasty can't hold their liquor, and most Dynasties can't. They are likely to favor sweet, flavorful drinks in moderation, getting little pleasure in drunkenness.
- Opium would be more popular than strong alcohols.
- Music bores those of the Common Dynasty. They do not make music, and do not enjoy it.
Traits of the War Dynasty:
The War Dynasty is also Ailor-like with a few exceptions. Some have monkey tails, which are prehensile, or similarly prehensile dragon tails, though some lack tails entirely, instead having accelerated hair growth on their bodies and heads.
- War Dynasty Sihai with tails are likely to enjoy using them at most occasions. Though they cannot be used in combat, they would likely be used to recreation.
- Sihai armor would likely all have holes in the back for the tails of the three tailed-Dynasties, but mostly just for the War Dynasty.
- Sihai would likely, when drafted to fight, take on the War Dynasty form. Likely, the only Sihai fighting the Dark Dynasty would be War Dynasty Sihai.
- War Dynasty without tails are unlikely to shave much, if at all. They would likely just let their hair grow out. Little grooming would be done, so much of their hair would be thick and bushy.
- War Dynasty would likely shun alcohol or opium usage. They would much prefer a clean mind.
- They like war drums, but dislike other forms of music. As such, they will take little pleasure at the playing of a lute, piano, singing, or other forms of music.
- War Dynasty Sihai will become angered when the Zuge Dynasty Era is mentioned, as it was a time they would rather forget. They choose to bury the past, which other Dynasties use to put the War Dynasty in their place.
Traits of the Greater Dynasty:
The Greater Dynasty is a Dynasty of owl-like scholars. They can be either snowy or barn owls, sometimes a combination of both.
- Those of the Greater Dynasty are likely to take the most pleasure in research and development. Though the Common Dynasty is scholarly, they would likely be more focused on learning about the world, not solving its problems. That would fall to the Greater Dynasty.
- The Greater Dynasty cannot use makeup or tattoos in this form. Tattoos gotten while in Common or War Dynasty forms would be shown in the forms of colored feathers. However, while in Greater Dynasty shift, they will most likely make use of powdered chalks of various colors to use as makeup.
- Music annoys the Greater Dynasty, who see it as a distraction to their studies.
- Sihai of the Greater Dynasty have great disdain for the War Dynasty, as they had committed atrocities against them, slaughtering those who shifted on the full moon. This was during the Zuge Dynasty.
The Frivolous Dynasty are red panda people. They are people who love the simple pleasures of life, and take part in culture to its fullest.
- The Frivolous Dynasty Sihai dislike the War Dynasty, as they are frequently at the receiving end of their taunting and jokes. As such, those who favor the Frivolous Dynasty will avoid War Dynasty at most opportunities. Their businesses may even refuse War Dynasty Sihai service.
- Frivolous Dynasty likely make up much of the working class of Sihai. They enjoy simple things like fishing, trading, brewing, cooking, and more. They are likely also more likely to travel to see the world at times.
- The Frivolous Dynasty is likely the most common sight in the Outer Isles, as they enjoy trade with outsiders for alcohol and food.
- Frivolous Dynasty is the only Dynasty that enjoys alcohol fully. They will drink about anything, especially Frivolous Ale, which drives them mad.
- Frivolous Dynasty Sihai also make up much of the entertainer population of Dexai. They love the arts and culture, like theatre and fine arts, but also enjoy the more taboo music. They would be the only Sihai who would play instruments, usually, though would need to make them themselves or trade for them.
- Frivolous Dynasty Sihai own many businesses, as they possess silver tongues. They would be especially persuasive, and also good liars.
The New Dynasty are caniform or marsupial-like. They appear like crossbreeds between Grey Wolves, Fennec Foxes, and Thylacines (Tasmanian Tigers).
- The New Dynasty has only just recently arrived on Aloria, and, as such, are looking to find their place in the world. The other Dynasties have been around for so long that their place in society if solidified.
- New Dynasty Sihai would likely be willing to try new things. Combat, scholarly work, etc.
- New Dynasty Sihai would use powders as makeup as well. This is due to their duller fur coloring, as opposed to the Frivolous Dynasty, who are very colorful, and would benefit little from powdered makeup.
- Those of the New Dynasty reflect themselves as Common Dynasty Sihai in many ways. Their personality is not set in stone like the others. They are the most free, and thus, enjoy their freedom the most. A New Dynasty would be unlikely to take on a life of crime as this would result in a loss of freedom if caught.
- The New Dynasty would be reluctant to take on other forms, as they want to keep their personality flexible.
