I like farming a lot in minecraft, but I fear because of the "FeedAlways" trait and the fact that it is quite easy to get a farm set up, makes it a waste of time. Does anyone know of a way I can make farming profitable? (Setting up a business, etc)... I need some suggestions.

P.S. - If you think I'm wasting my time with farming, and it's a lost/inefficient practice, please let me know your opinions.

Farming is great, I find FeedAlaways as a space consumer with my traits, that's my opinion on it though.

You could always sell a ton of it to others who are too lazy to do it.

When I make an announcement about the food that I'm selling, not many people seem to acknowledge it though.

That's probably because when people want to buy food they want to buy big bulks of it, resulting in them having food for a while. I can only speak for myself, but all the factions that I have been in have produced food for themselves.

Maybe you should try finding a faction where you could be the supplier.

Sadly no, even if you managed to sell few stacks the profits would still be marginal. Only way to bring in real money is to sell in big quantities (like more-than-you-have-farmed-by-far big) but the market for large supplies of food is still too small for good profit as finding proper buying takes more time than actual farming. People tend to produce their own food as it's more convenient.
If you wish to acquire currency you should look for different ways to do so, including but not limited to; darkroom grinding and sand selling.

You mean sandstone right? :)
Oh shit I am in France and on the internet on my phone... Got to go!

I would suggest you start farming steak, pie, stew and re-name them. This will benefit your profit seeing rp-ers will be more interested, if they throw partys and suchs.

I've found that the best way to make money off of farming is through RP events, specifically cakes and deserts make a lot. However it might take a while for you to find the chickens and cows necessary for such. I'd suggest you farm wheat, melons, and pumpkins as people like to use hay bales, melons, and jack-o-lanterns in their builds. In addition I know that renamed potions, passed off as all sorts of beverages are also nice ways to make money while encouraging RP.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! And yea, it's quite upsetting that farming isn't something that can be too profitable on the server. Anyways, I'm still open to more suggestions if you have.
Farming has the opportunity to be really profitable however. With the harvester and herbivore traits you won't need to worry about getting food for yourself. Like I said before hay bales, pumpkins, and melons are always in high demand. I've also noticed an increase in demand for sugar cane and mushrooms.
