Oh, hello. I'm that psychotic axe wielding maniac that was recently released from the insane asylum...Anyhow!

I have (attempted) calculated a way, in a sense, to figure about how long you've been here in MC time.

Now, this is my math...

20 minutes in one MC day.

60 minutes in a RL hour.
((24x60=1440)x335=48,2400)/20=24120

I've been in MC:
24,120 Days
or
about 3,445 weeks
or
804 months
or
66 years

(My math is probably off, but hey...I got a D in Algebra.)

Anyhow, so your brain doesn't hurt. Or so Ben can fix me with a swipe to the head, I'll tell you what all the numbers mean.

24 hours times 60 minutes equals 1440 minutes all together. 1440 minutes times 335 (the amount of days I've calculated I've been here...Or about.) That equals all together 48,2400, that was divided by 20 minutes that would calculate into 24120 MINECRAFT days.

THEN

Using the 24120 MC days I got. I divided 24120 by 7 to get ABOUT 3,445 weeks.

Then I divided 24120 by 30 to get 804 months.

Then divided 24120 by 365 to get 66 years.

We should all be REALLY old, but I'm sure I got my math wrong. Also, I'm sure the server has a different, and much more slowed down time in RP. But, this is my calculations

Like I said...D in Algebra. Plus, someone has probably done this. But, I left it here so you can calculate how long YOU'VE been on the server in MC time.

@Ben_2025 leaving that so you can correct me if needed.

Yep your math seems correct. But try to format it better, it is hard to read and understand. Therefore it took me 5-10 minutes to find your that you were right.
Btw, a month is closer to 31 days than 30.
To the brain hurt thing (because I was out of subject) no, math is easy.

Haha, thanks. I'm not good with organizing numbers...I despise numbers.

Also, I think some months are 30, some 31, and one of them is like...15.

So, I just made a gist of it honestly.

You just did it again!!!! 28 days not 15 also it is better to go to 30 because you have more lower numbers, still fix the math. Or I wil littarly explode with a froce of 125608*7637E10^78 N

And you just exploded my brain with: How can 24*60 be the same as 1440*335 @_@ and 482400/40 doesn't equal 1440*335 at all and I got this in my head: ERROR ERROR REBOOT FIND Q SOLUTION X TIMES RESSETED ALREADY REBOT REBEE REBAAA BAHDKEVSKBFKRNFJ
Maybe I'll make an artwork diagram, and edit it with that instead...

ThAt was what I meant.

What he did was use basic mathamatical notation.

An example:

1+2=3x4=12

Basicly, this means that 1+2 is 3, and then that times 4 is 12, due to there being no letter suggesting an algerbraic equation, its safe tk assume its not putting both sides as equal, but only the first number to the right of the equals.

Basically, that's the gist of it.

And to reply to the thread, I'm probably on massive for ~ 8 hours, every day?
I've been playing for 1 year and 4 months... 8x3 = 24. 365x4/3 = 486.67
486.67x24=11680 days. Which gives me nigh on 32 years on massive alone. Not bad, eh?

I know, i also said i understood him. But as a programmer, thinking in programmer logic (Which makes you understand how unlogical the world is) this makes no sense. If he formatted it better.
1 + 2 = 3
3 x 4 = 12
or used paranthesis
(1+2=3)x4=12

There would be no confusion.
'
That being said, i have understood every single post on this thread.
II don't want big discussion about math or any flame.

Hm, I just tried doing this; differently, however. I used ratios (yay!), which can be used for anything - minutes, seconds, hours, you name it. The ratio for real life to Minecraft is 20:1440, or 1:72. Basically, just get any unit of time, multiply it by 72, and you get your Minecraft unit of that.

An example:

I began Minecraft on March 26, 2011. That means, currently, that is 1,180 days since I began. 1,180 x 72 = 84,960. Meaning, I have spent 84,960 Minecraft days on Minecraft. Simply divide this by 365.25 (the amount of days in one year), to get 232.60780287474333 years. Now, I like to be picky, so I'm going to do it in years and days. To do this, we simply get the amount of days in a year (365.25), and multiply it by those trailing decimals (0.607...). This gives 222 days, and a minute amount extra.

Therefore, my Minecraft character would be aged 232 years and 222 days.

Thank you for reading.

If I write this in a mathematical calculation in or out of school it would be wrong, a mathematician wouldsay it is totally wrong it is like say 5 apples and another 5 apples equals 10 apples plus 4 apples. This would never be accepted in any school it is like teaching a kid that X has a value that is always the same or saying babys come from birds that bring them.

My, my. I attracted the attention of all the math nerds. o3o

Anyhow, I put in parenthesis, just to make it look all technical like.
@Madus

Also, Jemo stop being so mean.

I also decided to do your age - you got it pretty much right!

I did the days, too. 66 years, 13 days, and 12 hours. Approximately.

I can't fight it my brain is mathematical and I don't botter if you make a mistake, it is just that Terraria is saying that it is mathematicly correct wich isn't right.

Mathamaticaly its perfect, its a formatting error. He needs to change it so that the times sign (x) is spaced from the numbers, so it doesnt look like its a X instead. I guess, he could use brackets but due to the equals seperating it, there is no real need to do this.

No I am talking about 4*4=16+7=23 the x is not a problem, read the apple part I sed it is like teaching that stuff (not right stuff)

Well...I think it's time to...

IIRC it's 20 minutes.
10 for daytime, 7 for nighttime, and the rest is for sunrise/twilight.

@Jemo21 and @Jack The Unseen
How did that deserve and please read the subject again?
@Chadwick
Now looking at the parenthesis you placed them wrong, it doesn't help.
((24x60=1440)x335=48,2400)/20=24120 would have been more correct.

I do not remember, but what I get out of this is: (31+28+31+30+31+30+31+31+30+31+30+31)/12=30.4166... ~30 days.

(1440x335)=(48,2400/20)=24120
Better written, with no misread possibilities (Gosh words) 1440x335=)48,2400/20=24120 Or 1440*335=482400 =) 482400/20 = 24120 (I left out the first step because I wanted jus tto show how it should be written.)

๖ۣۜLast I remember was noticing that the sun in Massivecraft and the moon occasionally would leap back to its previous place. Lag or not, it is delaying the time actually occuring on Massivecraft. Assuming Massivecraft might actually be longer than a normal MC day, even by a minute, I still applaud you for taking the time to crunch up some numbers.

I managed to follow the numbers pretty well, but then I realized...
I was beginning to use actual effort. I stopped myself before it continued, hopefully I can prevent such an occurance. Steam summer sale should help.
