Byalan Spring Festival House Slumberwood invites the Regalian peerage to celebrate the coming of spring with them in the model of a Byalan folktale. While many peoples have tales of fair folk and their interactions with the settlements of man, the Byalan settlers of centuries long-forgotten have perhaps some of the most memorable. They are known for their accounts of the Gorski or the man of the woods. This creature is said by wise women throughout Byalan lands to lord over acres of forests with its magical understanding of all in its domain. Distinctly fickle, these creatures are known to be just as likely to aid the weary hunter in their forests to a swift and game-filled return to their homeland as they are to lure him off path so that he may never leave their domain. In older times, people were said to make offerings before long travels through the woods of Baldmark to these creatures in the hope for a safe and easy trip. Thus, in honoring this folktale, House Slumberwood invited the peerage and their retinues to engage in a variety of games to harken in spring. These will include the questing of the flowers, riving of the bark, and even some culinary delights. Even for those who may not be particularly inclined to pursuits in nature, we do hope you will join us and celebrate the season of the Gorski.
