I can remember when I first joined this server. I had played on about half a dozen other faction servers, so I thought I could start out pretty well on this one. Nope. Instead of having a simple spawn, Massive spawns you on a floating staircase, then throws you into a huge spawn city with roads leading everywhere, and no information about what do to except to go far away from spawn. I am pretty stubborn, so instead of rage quitting, I ran to the harbor, then jumped off and proceded to swim for 20 minutes. This whole time I was spamming say chat hoping for some help before I realized it was a local chat. I then had to figure out how to say anything in global, which took another 20 minutes (btw thanks to whoever told me how to say global in a private message). After I learned how to say something in global, I was still confused and probably would have been confused for weeks if Mecharic hadn't invited me to Osion and taught me how things worked. Bottom line, most new people are not as stubborn as I am, and a lot of them quit the server after they realize they don't know where the heck to go. That's why I suggest we write a manual for new people, something that gives them a good idea of what to do, and how bout a book telling new people about the greatest and most powerful factions on the server at the present? I'm not talking about a book that says "This faction has 600 power and lots of god armor", I'm talking about something like this.

The dwarves of Teward are the best smiths in all of Ellador. They spend countless hours crafting sets of magical enchanted armor that kings and lords would kill for. This has earned the dwarves fame, wealth, and many allies. However they do not only depend on their allies, as they are skilled axemen that are on par with the best knights and soldiers other factions could offer. The dwarves of Teward live in a complex cave system that is easily defendable and looks amazing and awe-inspiring.

This would lessen the amount of small 2 man factions on the server and help the really great ones grow. Also the starting manual would help new players. I believe these 2 combined would help the server.

This has changed, now you go up the staircase, and are teleported to /warp rules. This contains a whole bunch of information about the server.

A long time ago there was a rules room, one that would start at the beginning of a long hallway of signs detailing the rules of the server. Now that place is a warp (/warp rules or /warp info), which is rather stupid if you were to ask me.

Heres what i propose, since the old info or rules room is outdated, and Regalia which is supposed to be the new spawn capital, but is halfway complete. How bout' we ask the server staff to make a temporary rules or info room and in time it can help to keep new players from getting horribly confused. While we await for Regalia to be released to the public.

Lets say that when you first join the server, you spawn at the floating staircase. Then once you get to the end you are immediately transported to a new and completely updated info room. If ye want to make it a bit "RP-ish", i suggest you make a large and long dwarven hallway. It is a bit dark inside with the exception of a torch lit here and there and along the walls are paintings, story's, and rules every where telling you what to do. At the end of the hallway, you see a bright light. When you enter it, you are thus teleported to either "Ceardia", or the new spawn capital "Regalia" (after its completed).

It's not "a long time ago" the rules room is still there and you still go there when you join for the first time. You just haven't been new to the server for a while...

Oh, sorry. Didn't know that. What do you think about the factions manual thingy?

I have been around on this server for about a monthnow and I agree that itthere was a steep learning curve. If it wasn't for another player to show me the ropes that curve would have been even steeper. The website did hold some valuable info but not enougj for someone completely new. Much of what I learned came not only from other players on teamspeak but also reading wikis and youtube videos. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand to create a more user friendly tutorial whether it be in-game or an online document. With that said, if you are new, feel free to /msg stevenonfire in game and I will do my best to help just as another had done for me.

We are releasing a new rule/help place togheter with Regalia :)

Well, Regalia will be introduced before sharding. Let's say like this. It's not far away. The building part of Regalia is 99% done. We are right now working on stuff like the rental system and such :)

From what I can estimate, about the the time you started this project to up till now. Along with all your hard work, I'd say you'll be done within about 1 month to 2 months. Though this is just my estimation based on your percentages, and the time that has gone into getting this project complete.
