Typically he follows a liberal sense of justice and heads where the wind takes him. Though him not being guided by morals is not to say there is a lack of, and there are many instances where he may not perform an action due to the nature of it - but this can bend from situation to situation. The only thing he has never broken on is his loyalty. That which means more than anything to him is his loyalty to somebody, and this can cause him suffering as much as respect. Character Personality Type: The Inspector: Tibear believes in honorable service to that of Estellianism in particular. Never swaying from his now life-encompassing mission to assist the progression of the faith and to return the state of the world back to one which Estel and Her god creations would approve of. A stern traditionalist with a mild flexibility to adopting and accepting an Estellian world view. Character's Religion Faith of Estel - Devout (10/10) Likes Farming: Bel is a simple man - he enjoys taking care of a field of crops. He finds himself at inner peace within golden fields of wheat. His father raised him both a soldier and a farmer, and these values have passed well into the young elf. Drinking: The 'young' elf has found an enjoyment of alcohol to boost his mood as well. Enjoying a night on the town with friends drinking plenty of good booze. Whenever he's not in the field farming or in the field training his spear arm - he'll likely be found in a tavern, or in the comfort of his communal home drinking. Eating: Some might consider gluttony would make the man fat, but with his constant exercises and demanding field of work he tends to not gain much fat at all. So, he's found quite the enjoyment of all kinds of food. If there's food and drink in plenty at a location - Bel-Gyarhyabrin will be there shortly. Dislikes Subterfuge/Torture: Both of these practices upset the young elf. The idea of "Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself" was taught by his mother since a young age, and with his sense of loyalty and forward nature the idea of subterfuge seems cowardly and dishonorable. Torture does not seem an appealing idea either, as he would never wish the same unto himself. Thus, the young elf will likely have issues following such actions. Sieges: One method of warfare that seems rather tiresome to the young elf is that of sieges. While he may have many years ahead of him, the idea of spending any of his time sitting around a castle waiting for the siege to end is a boring idea. While he has never personally participated, he generally avoids drawing out conflicts like one. ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ───※ ·❆· ※─── Relationships ───※ ·❆· ※─── Friends Thomas of Rothburg (@Magivore): A recent acquaintance of Bel. After the experience the elf had with him in attempting to free him from an unlucky circumstance, he feels a closer bond with an Ailor for the first time. Camilla Moreno (@Ailethi): Camilla, even though they've briefly know each other, has been helpful in Bel's teaching of Common and his further grasp of the language. She's even comforted him in times of deep trouble for the elf. Jhaartael Ivasaar Rhuiviel (@ChapterDeath): Jhaartael has been a helpful friend to Bel for quite some time, and a good translator for the man as he furthers his abilities in Common. Until then, Jhaartael has proven useful in getting him up to speed on most things. Sarelas Avalorn (@Arendan): A long time friend and idol to the young man, he views Sarelas with both respect and rivalry. Hoping to one day gain the same sort of following he has, and go even further beyond it. Llozzi’sil Al-Yaotl (@MippyMoo): Bel has found himself impressed not only by the Ailor, but by the Allar as well. Intrigued specifically by the one Llozzi'sil and her adoption of the Modern Altalar language to her tongue, glad to find somebody amongst the Allar who he deemed "cultured." Enemies Lu Liang(@Arendan): After a not too friendly encounter and a crushing defeat in a duel against Liang, Bel has become obsessed with defeating the Sihai. His emotions tend to run rampant around the man, and his infuriating talk about Bel's lack of true conviction. The elf refuses to rest until he can successfully send Liang to Tal'Sieth, securing his belief in his strength. ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ⋞ 〈 ⏣ 〉 ⋟ ┈ ───※ ·❆· ※─── Life Story ───※ ·❆· ※─── =Childhood= Born in 173 AC to his mother Tossievake and father Bel-Ibraan alongside his other siblings: Rothlier. Living as a small family of Fin'ullen in Solleria - a Solvaan dominated land. Spent most of his childhood bullying Rothlier because she was younger, but would eventually separate as his chores took him from home to the fields. Bel worked most of his childhood assisting his father in the fields, learning the basics of what it took to keep a farm running. From planting seeds, to keeping large areas watered, and how to harvest many crops. =Adolescence= At the age of 13; however, he would be sent to an orthodox academy to learn more of his people's grandeur and achievements - instilling pride within him of what the Altalar could accomplish in the Wheel of Time. Once he was finished with his schooling at the age of 20, he was sent to work with a militia contingent of Ailor in Anglia - learning from them in their ways, and knowing he could do better with his training. Once he was finished with his short trip, he was called back to Solleria to begin a harsh regiment of drilling - day and night - learning everything it took to be a competent foot soldier. Of all the lessons, he took upon the necessity to be able to handle a variety of weapons well. Learning to shift from a spear and shield, to a sword, to a dagger - even a bow if ranged was called upon. Mastering none in particular, but instead mastering a jack-of-all-trades approach. =Adulthood= As he finally finished his training, he returned back to the farmstead. Learning a bit more on farming to become competent enough on his own to survive when he had his own family, and training further with his father in the arts. At the age of thirty, like his father before him, he began his pilgrimage of the old empire. He would visit each pantheon, as instructed by father, to learn more about them. From Ulley, Lord of Protection, to Talsieth, Stalwart of Guardianship. On his journeys, he began to hear rumors and cautionary tales about the old empire. Some of the more learned elves spoke to him about what magic had wrought. A strange mixing of stories that never really pointed to anywhere. Met a travelling group of older Altalar mercenaries who told him about tales they had over their years of service, involving major notes of their interpretation of why the empire fell, and how it was the Void and other Nelfin races to blame. Eventually, he arrived at the mirrored pools of Talea. The sacred ceremony would begin as he laid in the waters and stared deeply into the mosaics above. From there, he did as he father instructed - he prayed to the gods for guidance. After the pilgrimage, he returned to his family's farm. They greeted him with a feast, and he told his father of his journey. About the strange rumors, and how the empire's trails had been doing over all these years. For many years, through many hours, his father began dogmatically instructing his son in the importance of duty. To hold himself firmly to serving and fulfilling his promises. When he reached the age of 50, his father decided it was time for the young elf to be tested in proper battle and knowledge. They worked together to schedule him for the Solsanthëa Silverhelm Commandery - and off he was sent yet again, to learn to lead his fellow Est-Allorn. The young elf was eager to prove himself to his father and fellow Altalar after the Commandery, and joined up with numerous small mercenary bands - fighting for gold and honor in any battle he found. Fighting constantly tooth and nail on the battlefield to earn his keep against even some of his own kind, and other times against Ailor. In 302 AC, he joined up with a particular mercenary company called the Ularen Lions. Under it, he served the commander Vynael Avalorn. This man had a profound impact on the way Bel considered war and battle, when he selflessly began fighting not for gold but ideology. He did his best to serve faithfully to the man until the unit was unfortunately disbanded in 306 AC. In 307 AC, he found himself once again contacted by the Avalorns to join the Ularen Lions. A name he had not heard spoken since a year past. Bel felt a sense of duty to the company, and gladly signed up once more. Having worked previously with the group, Bel found himself in a position of leadership. Working on helping command the companies of men in frontline operations wherever the mercenary band may or may not find themselves. Establishing himself as a 'competent', but quite still novice leader. After arriving and living within Regalia for a time the warrior elf found himself rearing to join the Moors Front when the war called for him. He served as an excellent soldier of the front, but was nearly confronted with death in the jungles of Lurlaven. Bel had a short duty as the Lord Commander of the Violet Order, and in such recognized the sheer crippling nature of bureaucracy that seemed to be the day-in and day-out of his job. The man realized that the changes he sought to make, would not come from such. Shortly into his duties, he resigned, knowing that there would be others more fit - and so he may rekindle his efforts to strengthen his own kind.
I have no issues with this application! I look forward to seeing it grow and expand as you roleplay and understand him better. Well done!
@Caelamus Sorry about such a short span between a re-review, but I've updated Bel to branch his character out a lot more with the new lore.
@Caelamus To be able to facilitate storyline idea for the character, a reform of the profs was required to better suit it. Changes have been made in green.
@Caelamus Bel is no longer dummy, please re-review to make sure I wasn't either and got the points and stuff right. All edits made in green.
@Caelamus Hey, hi, it's me again. Special perm was dropped so can I get new Bel re-reviewed, pwease? love you so sorry
Swore I deleted that, but maybe that was a past edit I didn't save? Either way, got rid of that bit. @Caelamus
clarify talent and hobby points, honestly oso if you're confused just go look at ingemar's app for how i listed it all out or dm me for help.
@Caelamus Howdy. Changed racial to Ulley's Prayer because Bel never even mentions Tal'sieth realistically.
@Caelamus Been leaning between Militia / USMC with Bel and I've decided to just embrace the USMC Sgt. aesthetic. Please re-review. Changes as always, made in green.
