Being a fairly strong willed and adventurous dog, Bailey responds to fear as one would expect of her breed and the climate she was bred into. As she is frequently hunting and faces creatures she has at times otherwise feared she has dealt with the feeling frequently, and due to her slight stubbornness when she is adversed with the feeling of fear she will try her best to shake it away to continue with the hunt. For fear keeps her from the treat of catching the prey -- at first her fear was the firing of a crossbow and the squeal of a dying animal, but as she started to react by pursuing her fears and pushing through them she has begun to fear only those that can certainly kill her. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? In such stressful situations as her owner leaving for an inconceivable amount of time Bailey will do things such as paw at the last place she saw her owner, and try any way possible to stop or bring back what kept her from such an emotion. She does not like the feeling of stress, and will do things like whine, sniff and run around to take her mind off the feelings. Things such as not being fed or having a mean individual can stress her out, and she’ll usually try her hardest to get back to a level of comfort she deems worthwhile. How would your character express feeling Happy? Things that elicit happiness from Bailey cause her to overreact to whomever made her happy or whatever gave her this feeling, and some situations such as her owner coming home would make her jump and lick at them, or being fed would make her run around in circles and just act like a great weight has been brought off her. One of her go too reactions is wanting to give back to what or whom she retrieved her happiness from. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Bailey views authoritative figures as her nature due to it being bred into her from her birth as she always had an owner and was trained to follow complex commands. She has no concept of laws or legality, but knows right from wrong from what her master taught her, and follows her authorities loyally. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Bailey views all others as one of her, so she does not have any concept of other /races/, but she does clearly understand prey versus predators and views them differently. She can understand children, or pups, versus full on adults, but the different between species and races is a construct she cannot understand. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? As a Dog d’Beaut has no capacity to understand or relate to religion, and looks neither to her own death nor where she or others will end up after they die. The closest thing she has to religion is her primal instinct of knowing something dying usually results in the passage of energy, and in a way that could be perceived as her beliefs of a higher power that determines the flow of life and death. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? The closest concept to the Arcane and Magical that d’Beaut can grasp is when “a thing dies it passes energy, and when a thing is born it is a mass of energy”, otherwise she has no thought or idea about that. It is a completely foreign and unknown subject to her, that if she were to witness someone use something as illogical as magic she would likely not understand it as something real, or it would just be another thing a predator uses to kill prey. How does your character feel towards their family? The familial concept, or the “pack” is incredibly important to Bailey. She is an incredibly social animal who loves her pups and whoever she is bonded with, and loves to interact with them. With her own self-defined family she is more happy than with strangers, and she would prefer to spend almost all her time with her family and owners. They make her happy, and at the end of the day they feed her. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Bailey’s biggest insecurity would likely revolve around her dependence upon her owner because that is all she knows, and she accepts the fact that if her owner were to leave she would be incredibly lonely and fall into a deep sadness. She relies so heavily upon the comfort of other people that she finds her inner loneliness something she must run away from, and her inability to trust some strangers due to her relations with her owners has caused her to only deepen this insecurity. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? While her biggest insecurity revolves around her loneliness without an owner, and her need for dependence, her most proud trait for herself would be the services she provides and the care she gives those around her. She enjoys loving her pups, no matter the species, and when she hunts for her owners she feels her insecurity melt away, so that would be one of her greatest prides. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Bailey strives to serve her clan and whoever she finds herself in the comfort of, and genuinely seeks to make others happy and love her. Her goals are fairly short term such as hunt and pretty much whatever her owner sets out for her, but her existence revolves around the happiness and companionship she brings to others. What is your character's biggest fear? Isolation, quite simply. Being isolated from her pups, even strangers would be incredibly scary from her as she has little concept for the passing of time other than “light” and “dark” so she would feel incredibly lonely quicker and not understand if they were alive or dead. Being away from them for long periods of time would scare her, and she would seek to fix this problem as quick as she could. Life Story Birth (0) Born to a litter of five d’Beaut lived with them in a small village of the Colonial Ailors in Essalonia. Her sisters and brothers were given to the close families of the family she was born to serve, and one sister named Amile (Ah-meal) stayed with her. Bailey was named after the attached Ithanian line of the Colonial family, which was originally d’Beaut, but soon adopted the new surname of Tate. Puphood (0-3) In this period of time she would begin to mature in her physical stature and begin to be trained in how to socialize with children and other animals such as the domesticated farm-animals that were all around where she lived. During this time she would also begin to train in picking up the scent of prey and following it where she would later use this to be a prize hunter in her community. She also would occasionally visit the other pups that were given off when brought to see others. Juvenile (3-4) From here d’Beaut would really begin to mature as she witnessed the first death of prey her owner Wilhelm Tate had killed that she had tracked down, and she would thereon continue to hunt for him and only see more death. Soon she would become a fairly decent, if not skilled hunter that would lead to her becoming the prized hunter of the family and then community. Adulthood (4-7) Brought up to to be one of the main sources of bringing in food for the family she had she would continue to hunt for her clan for a long time. She lived the simple life of servitude and love from her farming community as she served not only her own clan but extras were salted or dried and given over to the poorer of the village. She hunted things from Pheasant to Ducks to larger prey such as Does and was even used to protect against dangerous animals that endangered the foul of the family such as foxes, badgers and other such predators that were reasonable. However, while she worked to hunt and protect the animals there were such other animals like larger dogs who sought to harm her. She spent a few months dominating the Village by instilling the pecking order with her at the top as other dogs tried to claim her farmland with things such as unwarranted urinating and pushing onto her territory. She would thereon beat them down into submission and the dog-fighting ring was started soon after. As she would fight many challengers in the ring she became less and less trusting of not only her original owners, but other dogs alike as her taste for humans grew more and more feral. When the mother figured out the young Tate had sent her to the pits multiple times he was harshly punished and the dog was brought out of the arena to serve as a dog meant more for companionship, though she had to leave with a few demons trailing after. Currently d’Beaut is being brought into Regalia to be sold to someone or given in exchange for a younger dog of a similar breed due to her owners no longer wanting her because of the liabilities she inherited from the arenas.
