He has average/short lenthed horns that curve slightly towards each other at their tips. He has a stripe of dark blue scales running from between his nostrils and up his face, all the way down to the base of his neck where it continues. He also has these same scales over his eyes. His eyes are yellow with the uncommon rounded pupils sometimes seen in Allar. He has several pointed spine-like protrusions on the back of his lower jaw, as well as on the front of his chin, giving him the apperance of having a beard. ◦ Azzidi's scales hide some of his muscular definition, but his body shape leaves little unsaid. He stands at 6'8 feet tall and approximately 430 pounds without much of the bodyfat that most Ailor would have to gain in order to reach such a level of muscularity. The front of his body has scales a lighter shade of blue than the rest of his body, and on his back the dark stripe of scales continues from his neck to below and between his shoulders. There are also about seven roughly circular, fist-sized patches of scales on his back that seem to be misshapen and off-color. Spoiler ◦ Azzidi's sense of fashion is scant. Clothes are often loose and provide more freedom of movement than aesthetic. He is most often seen wearing a thick vest and a pair of pants. He does possess a pair of brass horn rings and a red glass pendant with Allar inscriptions upon it around his neck. ◦ Describe the character’s voice. How do they speak? What is their typical tone and speed? Do they have an accent or a tendency to stutter? Any quirks about their voice listed here. Maybe also add a list of the languages they can speak. Because of this, Azzidi rarely lies. Azzidi hasn't cursed in years, and has strong feelings about such language! Despite being a capable squad leader and having good combat awareness, Azzidi has terrible casual-awareness! After once spending all of his tournament winnings on Kaffee, Azzidi has been unable to shake his caffine addiction! ◦ Skills: Spoiler Over the past 10 or so years, Azzidi has developed his own unique style of unarmed combat called Krzsacho. It includes some amount of grappling, but is primarily a Boxer-Puncher technique. When pushed, Krzsacho boxers are aggressively relentless, accurate, and brutally powerful, though often find themselves lacking in mobility and defense. Azzidi's preferences tend to push him closer to the Slugger end of the Boxer-Puncher spectrum, favoring a slower but more powerful attack or two over a quicker series of punches. Likes ◦ Dislikes ◦ Relationships Spoiler Zzalangua Mu-Yaotl: One of his greatest friends. Zzalangua was one of the Allar who was rallied to rescue him from the grips of a Death Mage and has been close with Azzidi since. @JarrettdaCarrot Life Story (249, birth) Born to Zzenessi and Ozzi Sa-Yzima, a Sa-Allar couple in Barazzt, capital of Allossa. He had several siblings, though most were not Sa-Allar and were sent away. When submitted to the Soor-Al-Rassa, it was decided that his great weight would put him in the Sa-Sez subcaste. Luckily, his own parents were Sa-Sez, so few preparations had to be made. (250-263, 1-14) Azzidi is raised off of tales of heroic Mu-Allar and strong Sa-Allar with the hope that he would pick up the traditional caste-values. Unfortunately, Azzidi interprets the lessons as 'might makes right', and becomes somewhat problematic. As he grew stronger than his Allar kin, his forceful playing becomes outright bullying. He gains a reputation as being violent and destructive. (264-271, 15-22) At the age of fifteen, Azzidi begins to pick up the family trade. He receives some training with a woodcutting axe and spends much of his time in the forest. While he excelled at cutting down trees, he also retained his bullying behavior. He is not particularly liked outside of his own group. (272-285, 23-36) It was at this time that the Essa Empire was making preparations to invade Sendras, and as a result, Azzidi was taken from his work as a tree-feller relocated to the Scale of Hal Pormonth to study the ways of the School of Krzsallaz. As Miko Missa had just reinvented the school of combat to allow Sa-Allar to join, Azzidi was among the first Sa-Allar to learn the ways of Krzsallo. As the Krzallaz philosophy valued offense over defense, Azzidi was trained in the ways of heavy weapons. Having already been given some experience with an axe, he took well to training. As the Scale of Hal Pormonth specialized in training Sa-Allar, Azzidi's education was much less about the hunting and combat-dances of his Mu-Allar peers, and much more about building his strength and teaching him his place on the battlefield. His penchant for violence allowed him to learn quickly, and would often place himself in control during group vs. group training exercises. Despite not necessarily having been trained to fight without a weapon, Azzidi discovered that he had a passion for unarmed combat. He would often join groups that had skills in such combat, and laid the foundations for his highly aggressive fighting style. (286-291, 37-42) When Regalia invaded in 286, Azzidi’s training came to a halt. He was quickly transferred to the Essa Navy where the basics of naval warfare were taught to him. Azzidi's first taste of naval warfare shook him to the core. Because the Regalian fleets were vastly superior to the Hadarian fleets, every battle was fueled by panic and desperation. Between battles, Azzidi learned the basics of boarding, naval combat, and archery. He also participated in several offensive attacks against Regalian ships as well as troops who set camp too close to the water. Regalia’s superior navy battered the Allar fleet again and again, blowing up ships and setting the water alight with alchemical fires. In his last naval battle, Azzidi’s ship was sunk, set ablaze through its own contents being hit by a cannonball. Azzidi lost his right arm during the event, and can vaguely remember it being torn off by a rapidly moving iron sphere. He was relocated back to Barazzt for the remainder of the war to recover alongside survivors from his wreck and others. In 290, Azzidi hears that his father, Ozzi Sa-Yzima, was killed in a skirmish near the capital of Fessa Haullo. The Slizzar began to seemingly fade away as the war looked less and less optimistic, causing Allar to become violent against their previous serpentine friends. Azzidi does not participate in the violence and simply leaves Barazzt to wanter Hadar once the war ends. (292-306, 43-57) Fueled by restlessness and emotional turmoil, Azzidi left Barazzt and wandered Hadar for several years, taking jobs as hired help for his Allar kin. His wanderings ended when he happened to stumble across Ssadi, an Al-Allar Scalebond sister of his. This chance meeting prompted the two to bond and, to their mutual benefits, saw them both return to Barazzt. Ssadi opened up ‘The Moldy Cauldron’, a shop where potions and alchemical supplies could be bought. Azzidi worked as ‘help’ for Ssadi around the shop. To make him more useful around the shop to customers, Ssadi began to teach Azzidi Common. As Azzidi reflected on the war, and his life before the war, he found that he couldn't think of anyone who would remember him fondly if he had died to the cannonball that took his arm. He decides that to live his life behaving as he currently was would be a waste of his second chance, and decides to spend a great deal of time with the local Sa-Saz and Sa-Suz communities. From them, he learned how to exercise his empathy, kindness, and how to enjoy the simple joys of life. He remains as impulsive as he was before, but is otherwise completely reformed. During his free time, Azzidi joined a local group of Allar martial artists, where he participated as a student for many years. Eventually, he developed his own style and perfected it, and was a mentor to other Sa-Allar during his last several years in Barazzt. After rearranging Ssadi’s alchemical stockpile according to some mad pattern he came up with, it was strongly suggested that he move. With the money he’d made as her helper, Azzidi decided to move to Regalia. It was a bold move but he was sulky and the opportunity presented itself. It took a few weeks, but he and Ssadi began to write to each other. They are now back on friendly terms. (306-Current, 57) Since arriving in Regalia, Azzidi has found both community and conflict. Now closer than ever to the likes of Cro and Es-Allar, Azzidi is immensely proud of himself for his service to the Digmaan, yet his stay in Regalia has not been fully good. He has had run-ins with sickness, magic, and more foul curses than he ever expected. Several months in, Azzidi was captured by a mage and turned into a Necrolith. Thankfully, his new friends in the local Allar community saved him, but the event still haunts him. Azzidi joins the local Krzsallo, serving under the Qar-Digmaan of Hadar alongside many highly competent Allar.
Here's my review. Why is his weapon of choice the Warhammer if he's trained with the warpick? Avoid DnD morality alignments. They're never in-depth enough to cover a character. Make the edits in red and tag me when you're done.
@Aespair Edited weapon of choice. Added Short Shields to proficiency, because it's good to have both hands occupied. DnD morality reference removed and replaced. All edits made in red.
@Aespair Added the new Racial traits. Horticulture and Unarmed Combat. +10 to each. Added +3 in Poetry, edited life story in red.
@Aespair I had forgotten to add a languages section, and what I've added may warrant a re-review. Marked in red.
@KiddingAround Sorry for the wait. Please expand upon the first paragraph for Personality and Abilities. I would also like to note that you have a total of 31 points for each proficiency category. You used 26 (not counting the racial bonus) for your skill proficiencies, leaving you with 5 leftover points to do with whatever. Not 10. This is fine, though, as you just need to keep note that you have 5 points and not 10. Then for cultural, you have a remaining 8. Not 9. Please make the adjustments and tag me when finished.
@SupremeCripple Expanded first paragraph a bit. Fixed the proficiencies. Updated the Visual Information section a tad. New horn bands is all. Added a little to the life story about the death of his father that was played out in the recent Chrysant Flashback event and what effect that had on him. Changed his father's name as well.
@SupremeCripple New art made the tag run away, so I decided to make a small edit since I needed you to catch it anyhow. Took one point away from Poetry, because I felt that a 3 was an overestimation of Azzidi's abilities. Added the unused point back to Unused. All marked in pink.
@SupremeCripple Lowered some points, changed some main ambitions, trimmed some no-longer-a-thing fat. All marked in red. Sexuality is still Slizzar. Requesting Re-review. UPDATE: I've put 3 points into Shortbows.
Just to inform you, Ship Sailing is a Cultural Proficiency, not an actual Proficiency Point itself. Move Ship Sailing down to your Cultural Proficiencies and you should be good to go.
@SupremeCripple Proficiency has been updated to the current standard. Azzidi has been aged up by 6 years. Life story numbers have been edited to show this. Edits done in red.
@KiddingAround It looks like you are one point over your 37 points. I would recommend just dropping Athletic training to 10. Furthermore. You have enough points that you could definitely get up to Strongman, if you want. :) Also don't forget to list your character's body fat!
1 Athletic point removed, body fat has been added in red. Thank you for catching that! For as long as Azzidi isn't being pushed to get stronger than he needs to be by others, and as long as Regalia is undergoing a famine, I I think I'll keep Azzidi at Muscular for at least as long as the famine is going on, and as long as others aren't pushing for him to be more combative.
@SupremeCripple Hi, sorry to tag you so quickly but I've made the following changes! Aged up Azzidi by 20 years. Gave Azzidi a greater unarmed and blunt combat proficiency. Distributed the points that had been placed in Athletic Training to the above. Re-organized the life story to reflect the age-up. Everything has been changed in green.
@SupremeCripple Hey! I re-did my personality section to fit the new template and need a re-review! Thank you!
Add preferred weapon! I would add these under a section in skill information, they no longer belong in visual information and neither does weapon preference! Otherwise though re-approved, let me know if the tag disappears.
@Caelamus Updated the sheet for the proficiency rework! Azzidi's proficiency points have been redistributed. Personal inventory has been added. I've included a small section that includes all of the combat rolls I may need to make. Azzidi has also been made Strongman-Average again, rather than Musclegod-Obese. Personality and Abilities has also been mostly redone. Main Ambition has been updated. Weapon of Choice has been updated.
@Caelamus I did a small Life Story update. Azzidi was now trained in the ways of the Allar Combat School of Krzsallaz, in the Scale of Hal Pormonth specifically. Now added reasons as to why Azzidi has a 25 in unarmed, starting in the Scale of Hal Pormonth and ending in his last years in Hadar. Invisible format changes. All marked in blue!
@Caelamus Hi! Updated Azzidi's sheet to be in line with the Allar update! The most important changes are a huge proficiency overhaul and a change in the Personality section to the Core List. All edits done in red!
@Caelamus Hi! Obviously I've tagged you because of the combat prof update, but I've also changed parts of his backstory and his sub-caste.
@Caelamus Hi! Added +10 to carpentry from Hobby Removed Marine Tactic, Sailing, and Medical from his proficiencies list in exchange for +5 Blunt. Those points weren't really doing anything and didn't feel important enough to keep.
