If you're using a lan server, type this.
/scoreboard teams add [teamname] Creates a team
/scoreboard teams join [teamname] [player] Adds whatever player to the team. They do not need to be online for you to do this.
scoreboard teams option [teamname] friendlyfire false Disables PvP for anyone on the team.
Alrighty, got the new world set up and I think this'll be an especially fun one!
^ The moleman awakens...
^ Got a nifty little exterior built into the hill! What's inside is better, though.
^ There's another entrance on the other side of this tunnel. Blocked it off for now, but later I'll make another entrance.
^ Added a second wall after the main door, in case a creeper blows up the exterior.
My next goal is to connect all the nearby caves in a giant tunnel system!
Day 11: Tunnels
^ GOD DAMNIT
^ Finally, someone to help me with the skeletons.
I have a good feeling about this world.
Be safe, be cautious. God speed.
Remember, for creepers and zombies, use hit and run. Strafe for skeletons. Ignore endermen.
Have roof access handy to help not get blown up by creepers in the morning, and stay inside over night.
You don't need a cave to find good ores. Just mine a spiral staircase down in a 2x2, 3x3, or however large you want shaft. Go down to between 5 and 15 Y, where all ores spawn, and strip mine. Any higher can be useful for finding Iron or Coal. You want lots of Iron. Iron is your friend.
Wheat is an easy and reliable food source. Smash grass to get seeds, and all you have to worry about is water.
Water is the antidote to explosions! If Creepers are a problem, keep them soaked and they won't break blocks. Beware damage to yourself and entities, however.
Walls. Walls are your friend. Just a quick Palisade will significantly help you, especially if you light up the inside area. Alternatively, a 2-5x2-4 ditch around your home works just as well.
I might be able to offer advice on anything you're running in to, if you like.
Oh, definitely. My primary goal here (aside from surviving) is to avoid the surface as much as possible.
All great tips! And yeah, I'll definitely ask for suggestions along the way.
Day 12: A bit of an adventure
^ Looking for sugarcane, found this instead. May be interesting, but I have no torches.
^ Torches are for babies. Anyway, that little but up in the corner seems to lead deeper into the cave. I may turn this into a base.
^ Ah, beautiful ravines.
^ Target acquired.
^ Sun getting low, gotta get back home. Also gotta make a tunnel out to this field so I can more safely access it.
^ On my way back, I spotted this. The top of that cave from the first pic. Although most of my structures will be below ground, I may make a fortress out of this.
^ Mushroom farm is absolutely flourishing!
^ A necessity in hardcore mode.
^ Ah, buckets. One of the most useful items in the game.
Day 15: A bigass square
^ Screw molehills. I'm a bugman.
^ idk if I mentioned it but I dug a tunnel to a secondary base. Am widening it to make a sort of tunnel hub for other tunnels leading to other bases.
^ Whoops accidentally dug into my panic room ladder
^ All done, only took 3.5 iron pics. That cobblestone thingy is the new tunnel the panic room ladder runs through.
Be careful! I think some of the blocks in that tunnel are dark enough for mobs to spawn.
I don't think many but one block in the way back is seven blocks away from a torch. Torches have a light level of 14, and mobs need a light level of 7 to spawn. So every time you move one block away from a torch the light level decreases.
I've also noticed turning you light level to bright prevents this. (Unless other players in the area don't have the same settings.)
I can't remember my light level. I think it's on normal, whichever that is? Either way, I'll be sure to place some torches next time I get on!
So, I attempted this. Dug down to around 8Y, got diamonds, had 16 in a chest on the surface at my village, had a diamond pick, tons of gold, redstone, lapis, iron, etc, was doing really well. Had pigs and chickens in a pin, managed to get an instant health pot from killing a witch! Then, as I was spelunking some lava caves, I tried to jump across a 1 block wide river of lava, failed miserably, caught fire, climbed out, drank my potion and re-filled my hunger, yet burned to death...
RIP Goodbye cruel world.
Make a new world, start a thread like this! Each time you die teaches you something new. Like now, hopefully you know to build bridges over lava (or any running liquid).
Got new computer. Will make backup of world on old one just in case, and try to copy it over onto this one. Sorry for the lack of updates, I'll try to make more posts once this is all set up!
For a multiplayer would just use the Minecraft Realm Free trail that is 1 month also invite me if u do ;^)
ninja123r appreciation post
12 in may btw
brings content trust me
This is fun to read.
Thanks! It's a very different, though fun, experience to massive, and I realized how much I forgot about minecraft survival. Like beds exploding in the Nether. Additionally, mild announcement that may or may not come to pass: With this new computer, I may make an application for streaming on the forums, and stream a few sessions of this world! First though, I gotta get the new texture pack.
Day 25: New beginning, same world!
^ Successfully moved to new computer!
^ Gonna mine all this up eventually, and make a statue on the surface somewhere.
^ More andestite for beautiful statue!
^ Going to make this into the first tower of my new fortress! No idea how tall it'll be though. Taller than this.
^ Gonna put the rest of the fortress around here, I think.
^ I need to make a railway soon. This is too damn long to walk back and forth constantly.
Gosh, I love reading this it's just fun to do when you're bored. I also started my own hardcore survival world I haven't died yet :D I'm the master of survival
Just beware lava. Don't get cocky around lava. Doesn't matter if you're a master of parkour, that one block of lava will be your doom when you mis-jump, and you will mis-jump.
I always carry water buckets with me at least 2-3 so I don't plan on parkouring over lava lol
If you start your own thread, tag me! I'd love to see others' hardcore adventures.
Would it count if it was on a server? (That I probably will never reveal the name of? Also it's modified hardcore where you don't regenerate naturally & it resets once a month.)
idk. if it's another sever, not sure how staff would handle it.
I thought I heard something about it being allowed as long as the server doesn't compete with Massive. (This one obviously doesn't.)
Well, do what you think's best. If you make a thread, tag me!
This was the furthest I'd ever gotten and I fucked it up.
^ Is that a village I see?
^ Free food lol
^ God why
^ Surprisingly easy.
^ All patched up!
^ Got part of the house up.
^ I'm going to cover the entire thing in wheat
^ I hate llamas
Hey there! I'm gonna keep at this hardcore thingy, not dead yet, but check this out!
forgot to see what day it was before closing minecraft, too lazy to open. cut me some slack
get ready for a hell of a dump
Spoiler: INTERNET'S BEEN DOWN ALL DAY AND I'M DEAD INSIDE
^ Decided I really, really, don't want my first base to be here. Disassembling it and leaving tomorrow.
^ Not touching this. Not even in full diamond.
^ Almost missed this! Seems to be a desert temple near-completely buried.
^ Alright, got in.
^ IIRC, that plate blows me up.
^ Quick look at my loots. Got some pretty good shit, I got a good feeling about this world.
^ Village spotted! Second one this game, I think.
^ Is this a monastery or something? Only clerics around here.
^ Another desert temple, not long after the first.
^ And another village, right outside it.
^ Taking a nap. A lot accomplished in that one day since setting out for a new place.
^ New sun looks really cool in the new texture pack!
^ I hate deserts.
^ LEAVING THE DESERT
^ Even at sea, there's deserts.
^ Not too long a trip before I found this cool little place!
^ A really big place.
^ Man, I gotta build a fort here.
^ First night on my new territory.
^ Docks are absolutely necessary when there's oceans.
^ Another awesome sunrise!
^ I'm gonna clear this whole thing.
^ Temp base, hopefully won't take too long before I move into the new one.
^ Guy stole my dirt. Angery
^ This guy looks really cool
^ I cleared a decent amount of that, I think.
^ Doubt I'll need wood for quite some time now
^ Getting to work on my new fort!
Gonna look into streaming if I remember
Nice place you found. I imagine it'd be like sailing from Egypt to... I dunno, the East coast?
Egypt to somewhere that isn't Egypt is my guess.
Why are 42% of the votes I hope you die?
I'm a popular guy
K but I still don't see how beetles can have toes.
^First real mining venture. Actually going below surface stuff and into big cave.
^ It's like a goldmine, but with coal instead. Still more valuable.
^ Took a day off, decided to spend it on a fun pastime.
^ Gonna flatten this thing.
^ Flat as your mom!
^ Only thing I need now are some animals. But to get the cows, I need wheat, which I don't have.
^ Made another farm, getting wheat soon.
^ Got the cows!
^ Found this not too far offshore.
^ This is easier than running back and forth to the sea.
^ My first armor
^ Iron age
^ Underground ravine, I'll explore this later.
^ Looking for roses, found another hole into the first ravine.
^ Base is finally complete, after 41 days!
Broke my record for longest hardcore survival! And I have no plans to die.
