Atrëllik, infected by a particularly lethal strain of the Slithering Maggots disease, desperately tried and failed to cure herself with a variety of methods both medical and magical.

With her options dwindling, she sought healing at the hands of a forbidden source: a powerful Ordial Ritualist hiding out in the twisted wastes of the Warpwood.

The master ritualist called upon their sinister patron - which they claimed to be a spirit of the corrupted soil. Laid upon a wooden slab, Atrë succumbed to her disease, and in death she saw this chittering abomination for herself: A great, tunnelling horror which crawled beneath the Warpwood. In her dreams - her nightmares - the horrific being peeled Atrë back from the dead, and returned her to the world as the host of a symbiotic infestation.

Atrë's entire body, stopping just under her jawline / neck, is decorated with an intricate web of unnatural tattoos - composed primarily of an ancient, maddening scripture which none can decipher.

The lines of text form a geometric 'hive' over her pale, dead skin, and from anywhere between these lines, the ink can pool into glossy black holes from which Wyldwarped Hornets, Wasps and Mosquitos - known as 'Hive Servants' - may emerge.

These hideously mutated creatures act as an extension of Atrë's will, but also the will of her patron and are thus sometimes difficult for her to control. They hunger greatly, though act always to defend her for as their host, Atrë is quite literally both their hive and queen.

    | Personality Information |

    Character Alignment | Lawful Evil

    Character Personality Type | ESTJ-T | Executive

Dedicated, Strong-willed, Loyal, Direct and Honest. Though also Stubborn and Judgemental, with difficulty relaxing and expressing themselves.

    Religious Beliefs | Various

    Monster | The Warped God | 3 / 10
Even Atrë doesn't fully understand the abomination that saved her. The Ordial Ritualist she had met spoke in riddles, and claimed this 'great phantom' to be a creature with roots deep beneath the corrupted soil of the Warpwood. It is said it can 'see' through the eyes of the hive servants, though Atrë has never actually confirmed this.

Atrë's worship of the being is reluctant and practically forced. If she were to stop, it may be possible that the hive would turn against her.

    Void Worship | Nirualla: The Verdant Ember | 6 / 10
In her youth, Atrë worshiped The Prideful Scorn, yet - as she became older - her personality and interests, along with the discovered pleasure of getting high off shrooms, has seen Atrë switch to following The Verdant Ember.

Plant life and its beautiful corruption - both Atrë and her Hive Servants enjoy the presence of flora. and despite her state as an undead who doesn't require conventional food, Atrë still prepares and even seeks out interesting vegetarian meals for the mere enjoyment of it. Her flies, however, are not vegetarians.

She's far from a zealot and is not fanatically devoted, though with that in mind, Atrë can still be a little overly defensive of plant life.

    Katharist | Prefect of Pleasure | 5 / 10
The Bride of the Void. Of the small community Atrë was born into, many were worshippers of Pleasure; of lust and debauchery. In Ssil, Atrë worked at an extravagant brothel for quite some time and to this day Atrë continues - relatively harmlessly and admittedly without great dedication - to worship their prefect through acts which are understandably related to the concept of pleasure. Usually this is done in groups of at least four or more.

    ═══════════════════════════════════
    | Life Story |

    Birth |

Atrë is born in Hallonq to a small family of Kathar who worship Pride and Pleasure.

Atrëllik Amphitikyte was born in Hallonq. She was raised by a mixed family of Kathar and Varan.

Maecillik was her mother - the head of the Kaahl. She was a strong minded, intelligent woman who had left the Dread Empire and for around a decade gradually spread void worship throughout a portion of Hallonq. By the time of Atrë's birth, Maecillik had established themselves as a powerful mob boss, with control over various brothels and drug dens across the region.

Gárrakir was Atrë's father, a strong and brutal Bakrathar who Maecillik had taken a liking to.

Their small community were mainly Void worshippers of Anu, and Katharists of Pleasure. The mix of these ideals was most strongly present in both Atrë's mother and father.
    Youth |
Atrë runs with street-kid gangs and is exposed to violence at an early age.

As Atrë grew, she quickly began to feel unhappy with her appearance - her father left when she was a teenager, and she grew ashamed of her Bakrathar half, considering the natural bulk on her physique to be clumsy, unwieldy, and something that drew attention to her.

Though she wasn't crippled by this shame or anxiety - instead often getting in fights with the local youth whenever any comments were made about her being an "Ogre".

Despite the area, Atrë was lucky to be raised outside of poverty - the money the Kaahl brought in ensured her upbringing was relatively comfortable.

Maecellik went on to have two more children - Gáto and Virallik - which helped force Atrë to mature slightly as she took pride in being a role model to them.

When she turned eighteen, Atrë took Lumeria as her sire, and began spending some time as a performer at brothels, embracing the worship of the prefect of pleasure. At the same time, Atrë also got more into fighting, making use of
Bagh Nakh to even mimic the styles of the Varran she often practiced with throughout the city.
    Early Adulthood |
Atrë starts taking her training more seriously and even begins competing in local Palattu tournaments. She learns an extremely new form of sorcery called "Spirit Sorcery", and too begins studying Vashkularr.

Throughout her twenties, Atrë became more involved with the local cults of lust, devoting herself not only to worship, but also to tempting travellers into turning to the void for power and pleasure alike. When she wasn't 'performing' at brothels, Atrë was typically getting into scraps with rival gangs or training.

She was exposed to a new, more refined and technical form of combat known as 'Palattu'. The style was employed by one void-worshipping Daendroque Ailor, a more experienced member of the gang she ran with at the time. Through sparring and technical drills, along with 'on-the-job implementation', Atrë found her skill with the style progressing at a reasonable level.

Atrë began taking part in local Palattu challenge fights and competitions for the sheer thrill and fun of it, and was exposed to a new type of sorcery that some foreign fighters were sharing techniques from.
    Adulthood |
Atrë's worship of Anu becomes more zealous and she commits terrible acts as a result of newfound extremism. This eventually leads to the loss of her arm, and a horrific infection which threatened to kill her.

Atrë travelled to Ssil to visit the various great statues of Baskarr, and to experience the popular 'Cathouses' within the Varran city. She spent a small amount of time trying to properly learn the Varran tongue, but without a tail and the sense to fully comprehend the intricates of Varran body-language, she quickly gave up. The visit to the city was nice, and although Atrë had met many Varran in Hallonq, it was awe inspiring to see a city so strongly inhabited by their culture and faith.

(( The rest of this expansion text will be completed at a later date. ))
    Undeath |
After succumbing to her illness, Atrë is brought back from death as a 'Wight' at the hands of a powerful Ordial ritualist.

Atrë's arm began to fester with infection: A twisted and lethal strain of The Slithering Maggots Disease which threatened to end her life. Her fellow cultists aided Atrë as she tried to save herself but her condition worsened quickly, and it became clear both medicine and their simple rituals could not save her.

A single option was left; one of the Kathar - a wandering Wyldwarped - took Atrë to the Warpwood, intent on seeking out a powerful Ordial ritualist they had once studied under in the past.

Having only found them because they wished to be found, Atrëllik was presented before the master ritualist. With little convincing, the master prepared an intricate and dangerous ritual, cloaking Atrë's body with scripture and ink.

Laid upon a cold wooden slab, Atrë passed from her illness - but rather than fading to a peaceful rest, she awake - tormented by delirium for weeks... She watched through blurred, shaky vision as her Void-Sire tattoos were slowly warped by the corrupted inks; they seemed to spread and shift on their own. The Master watched over her progress, keenly interested in every step of her 'recovery'.

Incessant buzzing, droning for hours in her head - Atrë eventually began to hallucinate the return of the grotesque slithering beneath her skin- though they were no longer pupa... Slowly, one by one, they began to appear - an amalgamation of Frankensteined insects. Wasps, hornets, mosquitoes and twitching creatures she had never seen before. They flared their hideous little wings, threatening all that would approach their host. Atrë herself was subjected to random bites and sudden stings. She tried to get rid of them, but they would always return.

The Master however was extremely pleased - this ritual of theirs was nearing perfection. They revealed to Atrë the many, many failed attempts before her: decayed hive-like husks, still breathing, grafted into the very trees of their small clearing in The Warpwood. These doomed undead were 'necessary sacrifices in the pursuit of knowledge'. The Master continued to help Atrë recover, if only to study and observe the results of their work.

For a time Atrë studied under The Master. She learned faster than most, possessing a clear unnatural affinity likely brought about by the ritual which had been performed on her. She eventually gained enough influence over the flies to quiet them for a peaceful sleep, and finally rested comfortably for the first time in months.

She would whisper in her sleep- telling incoherent tales of the warpwood; of mock-gods and their false, decaying roots deep beneath the soil... How they would be consumed, and how one day the dead god would return.

The Master had finished their study of Atrë and - with her recovery finally complete - she attempted to leave The Warpwood. Her hive protected her from the twisted horrors, though she still suffered wounds that would have ended a living being. Luckily Atrë escaped the Warpwood, returning to life as a nomad.
    Recently |
Atrë has adjusted - as much as she can - to her new condition. She has rejected Anu and now worships Nirualla. Her travels have taken her to Regalia, where she has since been accepted into a new family - The Dzekh'aar Kaahl.

    Edits -

    09/05/2020 -
    26/11/2020 | Various changes

21/12/2020 | Big aesthetic update to Atre's app. She is now undead. Proficiencies have changed a bit. New mutations, etc.

29/12/2020 | Atre fully joins the Dzekh'aar Kaahl and now bares this as her surname. I've also switched out Dex Rogue for Vocal Singing as Atre although fitting for her backstory as a criminal, I don't find pick pocket RP all that engaging.

01/01/2021 | Atre can now speak Vash - due to her interest in Palattu, which can be traced back to the Orcs. The idea of her sitting reading Orcish texts on old school striking techniques - a language she picked up alongside her study of the combat art - seems really fitting and interesting to me.

05/01/2021 | Atre now fits the new Kathar rewrite. She has lost her ritualism in favour of sorcery, though retains her overall personality, aesthetic and functionality.

Your physical stat is slightly off, as you only have 18 Unarmed invested, rather than 20.

Make this edit in Purple and tag me when complete!

Whoops- Nothing's actually changed. Please re-approve lol

I had originally intended to give Atre the ability to read She'llaq, but it's not allowed since she isn't Ailor and can already read Gal-Raq.

    @Mollymock

I am so sleepy- sorry if there's a mistake.

{Edit} There was a mistake lol- Bodystat was wrong. Fixed it. Also she's Sire of Rage now instead of Sire of Want because Want feels more fitting for a sorcerer imo, and now it doesn't really fit her at all.

With the new prof update, I've changed Atre's points to something less sorcery focused.

I've cleared all this with my perm writer, they don't mind the changes. I also plan to fix up the life story after I've had some rest- but it won't be extremely major - just adding a little flavour about Atre's time learning to fight, and likely changing The Nameless One to a nondescript npc since Lizmun is currently going through the process of changing is perm and will no longer be Atre's mage-mentor-master-thing. Please forgive <3

    Hey-hey. Sorry but I'm requesting a smol re-review again.

-I've invested Atre's unspent points as a +5 to Rapier Combat
-I've lowered the investment of Unarmed and added a further +5 to Rapier as my other two characters focus on unarmed and I want to try out a fencer aesthetic on Atre
-I've removed Ritualist Meld since I never really used it and I've replaced it with Planarspite

In addition, due to how awesome the werebeast update looks, I'm going to have Atre be a Werebeast for a while.

-Atre is a Scorrico; I've listed her fusion abilities

Finally updated Atre's app! She's undead now.

I'll complete the story expansion in the future, I got mad writer's block at the moment. Pretty much everything else is finished.
