Having left Guldar behind in distant past, Atlazateotl found power and purpose in the rising Regalian Military. Following the Viridian Coup Attempt and Allamaria's reforms, he rose from an officer to that of a low general in recent times. Atlazateotl is solely focused on the pursuit of power in the most cynical sense, in the hope that he can ensure that the meek obey the strong, for the purpose of security, progress, and hegemony. He does not openly speak of faith. Spoiler: Religion Atlazateotl the Maquixtl grew up as a worshipper of Caius, but final, ritual combat with a Xor Cultist brought his Totonal Avarr to the surface, who forever took control. Believing Avarr to be one of the strongest peoples to exist, Atalazateotl became obsessed with this strength, and vowed to prove it over the 'feeble Estallorn'. Most Maquixtl, he believes, are weak- but amongst the Elves they are the strongest, and the Avarr make them capable of true strength. The Solvaan are next strongest, followed by the Kathar who he believes are misguided and too self-destructive. He believes that that Esteloor Suvial are weak, but those few who follow Caius are strong. Teledden are universally weak due to their reliance on magic and their general love for a dead Empire, as are Fin'ullen, who he believes are too willing to follow the lock-step of the Teledden Estallorn. The Ithanians, similarly, are just as weak as the Fin'ullen for the same reasons in Atlazateotl's worldview. Atlazateotl also venerates Odell, and it was because of her that he sought a life as a cynical military commander. A lone Avarr proving his strength against peasants in a small Maquixtl village is meaningless; armies marching into the Allorn heartlands to subjugate them to the will of the strong is what true power is. He believes the Regalian Empire is the best opportunity to manifest and show this strength, and it is the Regalian Empire within which he can slowly work his plans to fruition- though the Regalian Empire is not perfect, and he believes it needs the guidance of someone like himself to prevent the weak-willed from driving it to ruin. Atlazateotl was raised in the Suel-focused Guldar, but as stated prior, believed it weak due to its heavy reliance on Allorn-era political and social structures. In combination with his Xor worship, Alazateotl found solace in traveling between various Plainsfolk villages. Reveling in the ability of democratic structures to allow for the strong to rise naturally to the top (re: himself), he only left when he realized that he could hardly perform for Odell in tiny farming villages. The Maquixtl Cleanslate of Atlazateotl has not seen the light of day in well over a century, as the dominant Avarr has never again let it control the body. Once an Avantl Maquixtl, he had average Maquixtl features, with reddish hair and a sporty build. Atlazateotl, in truth, is only seen in his Avarr Unity Genos State, as the Avarr soul seeks to take the role it had in its first life. A glance reveals a imposing warrior of an Avarr who stands at at least seven feet tall, and is nigh ever seen sitting, always ready, and always proud. Atlazateotl's head is the shape of the crested caracara (the 'Mexican Eagle'), whilst his feathers take the dominant color of red with a white underbelly and light blue highlights all throughout, which are overpowered by his dark blue eyes. He has a short, feathery tail and puffed plumage around the back of his head. He undertook the Totonal ritual as soon as he could, and quickly discovered the aggressiveness of his Avarr. Thanks to a princely upbringing amongst the rich in his Caius-leaning city-state, the Maquixtl joined the officer corps as his family had before him. ⇶Early Adult: To prove his mettle, he led an long-term expedition in to the Guldarrin jungles to root out a Xor Void Cult of Maquixtl who had 'betrayed Suel'. Through ritualized face-offs, the Maquixtl's force cornered the remainder of would-be Void revolutionaries. Facing down their leaders, the Maquixtl performed in one-on-one combat to decide mercy or death for the cultists, but was bested. Seeing this, his Avarr took dominion, believing the Xor cultists much more sensible than the Suel-ites. Calling himself 'Atlazateotl', the Avarr joined the Void cultists in fleeing Guldar for broader Daen, and for the disciples of Ceylenn. He spent his twenties with the cultists, eventually becoming de-facto leaders of a small Sentli commune through quietly manipulated democratic systems. ⇶To Regalia: But Atlazateotl knew he was destined for more. Hearing of glory in the east, he travelled the Regalian Empire seven years after his initial departure from Guldar, where he took up mercenary work in Solleria, then the capital. In 122 A.C. the Viridian Coup Attempt occurred, and as such, Atlazateotl found respect for Regalian strength. A half century later, having bounced between mercenary crews across the Archipelago, he seized upon opportunity in the Regalian Marshally and officer corps as established by Emperor Allamaria I in the 170s. ⇶Adult: The next years were steady. Within the Unionist Empire, Atlazateotl knew he could only bide his time, and that the revelation of his true faith would mean death. He served on and off until the 280s, in quiet appreciation for Odell's long-term planning. When the Regalian Empire finally turned south and west, he unleashed himself, rising quickly through the military's ranks. ⇶Present: It was with the June War that rapid advancement came to an abrupt halt. Gravely injured by a Red Army battlemage, Atlazateotl spent years recovering. In the Summer of 310 A.C. he returned to the military, distraught with the 'meek displays' in recent Regalian campaigns and geopolitical maneuvers. Following numerous command changes, he returned to Regalia on leave, looking to regain the momentum and drive he had.
