Within the quiet stone hallways of the Grove did Yalaune settle, within those halls a Cahal looked up at her, gesturing to her with a claw.

“It is time to rip off the veil, whether you are ready or not, you will be.”

She moved forward to the white furred Nepilitch beast, a little nervous, a little prideful, and a little worried. She was used to changes due to spells like Altered Self and Soulrend, but wasn’t sure how it was going to go. She felt the beast move to her side, a claw that rested on her head, a deep tugging within her soul and being itself, every fiber of her body choked in resistance, frozen solid, even her voice, which she had been singing, grew to a silence. She felt something…stir, move, being ripped out, a sharp flash of agony, then greater peace. She felt her body turn into stone and her faith being renewed to the only thing that mattered, Estel. The perfect, the wise, the ever-marching on, the gears that turned made a tick, she felt sand and stone in places where her skin and clothes were. Icy hues replaced that of emerald green, lost in the waters as the beast put back into what was torn asunder, made anew. She felt the beast's wanderings, his hopes, his desire for perfection, his teachings. Her voice rang anew within the halls, now joined by a new sound, the beast’s own song which sang like a trumpet. She felt the figure sway, and collapse to the ground beside her, while she sat on her haunches, looking around at the now starkly lit cave. She took one look at the Cahal, gave a grin, and began to eagerly bounce around like a puppy, running around the cave like a sandy tornado, sniffing this and that! Tail wagging and wolf-like ears perked, she heard her Warden sigh, shaking his head in a ‘those youngins’ gesture.

“Remember, you are not a beast, but a Warrior of the Faith. Act like it.” Its sharp tone caused her to stop, tongue lolling and tail wagging. With one final glance, she heard numerous cracking noises from the Cahal, as it dropped to all fours. “You may be a part of the bigger picture, but remember, I am your Shepherd. I will not hold your tail, but you can come to me for guidance, for a Shepherd takes care of its flock.” And with that, the Cahal bounded off, to explore, to hunt, to feed, leaving the sandy Cahal alone.

Once back at her new house in Crookbacks, Yalaune took a long look at herself in the mirror. A Cahal, a Warrior of the Faith. A slow smile crept across her features, she pumped a fist in the air. Excitement, joy, and happiness. But - what to do about the laws? She couldn’t wander Reaglia in her Cahalic form! Brood - that was it! She could likely just claim she was a Brood who had hidden her eyes. Nobody would even bat their eyes, be suspicious, sure, but not outright hostile. With the new plan in motion, her eyes slowly turned into that of icy blue, a new-found smile within her gaze.
