Armando is not one for putting his joy on full display. Instead, this feeling would manifest in a more reserved manner. He’d go about life a bit easier, smile at jokes more often, and keep his speech lighter in tone. It’s not every day that he finds himself content, but when he does he appreciates it fully and allows the effects of the mood to reach others. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? When Armando finds himself encountering fear, he tries his best to keep control of the character that he presents for others, but those close to him would be quick to notice a shift in his mannerisms. Although he is usually talkative, a sense of dread easily silences him and pushes him towards the backseat. He’d rather have somebody else deal with such terrors than be the one to approach them head-on. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? He would react to stress in an opposite manner to fear. Instead of taking a step away, he’d try to take a step forward even when he’s beginning to lose control. Stress manifested itself in quick speech and erratic actions, with panic chipping away at his psyche in an instant. Despite this all, he’d still try to keep to his image and stay in touch with himself. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Although he appreciates relationships and the people involved, Armando can be quick to disregard rules in favor of what he himself would prefer. This is by no means indicative of a hatred towards authority, but rather a mindset he’s rooted himself in to maximize his enjoyment in life. He’ll do what he needs to protect him and those close to him. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? He wouldn’t feel any particular emotion towards separate races. He stays away from such matters in hopes of simplifying certain aspects of his life, but he is quick to stereotype when he’s wronged by the same groups over and over. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Armando is lost when it comes to religion. He feels like nobody actually has a proper answer just because he has not found one to satisfy his own questions. He wanders around hoping for a revelation, but at this point, he has started to give up and feels jaded about the whole topic. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? He has always kept a curiosity for this world outside of his own, but he tries to keep it restrained, learning about it only from a distance rather through interaction and experience. He is too uncertain about these practices to ever approach it himself, but deep down, there is a desire to reach an understanding of the role it plays in his life. How does your character feel towards their family? Family connection is what keeps him going in life. He hopes that their discoveries will offer some additional guidance on his part and he wants to help assist them along their paths, even if he hasn’t figured out his own yet. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? There is a cognitive dissonance where he takes pride in his ability to control his demeanor, but will lose it whenever he feels trapped or pressed. Despite all his insecurities, he stays confident, and feels good about the fact that he can keep all of this locked behind him. He also makes a damn good omelette. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? When he sees those around him progressing, it gives him hope that he isn’t too far off track and that he can use their wisdom to lead him in a new direction. He keeps his mindset locked on truly becoming the man he paints himself as. If there’s a road where everything can be as simple as he dreams of it being, he’s going to get there. What is your character's biggest insecurity? That somehow, he’s a phony, and everything he stands for means nothing and everybody else has realized this way before he has. This plays into the idea that he has no direction and none of the answers and he’s constantly worried that he’s bringing others down with him by staying locked in this line of thinking. What is your character's biggest fear? That one day everything will slip from him and he’ll have no way of pulling himself back out. He’s afraid he’s one wrong turn away from trapping himself in a state of dismay and disappointment in addition to the worry that these very thoughts are eating away at whatever motivation he still may have left. Life Story: Armando was born in Girobalda not long after his parents emigrated there. It was through this decision that created a separation between him and the rest of his family as they found themselves establishing a home in Solacia. Despite that, Armando tried to keep contact to the best of his ability, not wanting to end up as a forgotten member. Growing up, Armando was much more playful and free-spirited than he is today. He’d always run around his home in fits of energy, bouncing up and down with mannerisms that couldn’t be contained by anybody else. His favorite pastime was hiding. He’d always try to avoid his parents whenever they wanted to begin schooling him and some days he’d manage to stay concealed for hours upon end. At the end of the day, however, he’d give in to their demands. Armando kept this fascination with stealth well past his adolescence and as he got older, he’d start to sneak his way out in the middle of the night with little reason to do so. Sometimes he’d see his friends, but other times he’d get lost in the woods, staring up at the night sky aimlessly until morning came around. It is through this that he realized the appreciation he had for the quiet parts of life, the parts where one could take a second to reflect and have nothing else to worry about. To Armando, this is when life was simple. He’d waste away time playing games and run from hobby-to-hobby. He had the tendency to give up on these little interests very easily, but it is through the observation of his father’s cooking that he found something to stick with. These are the days he looks back onto often. Armando’s life was defined one night when a local pair of criminals broke into his house to steal his family of whatever fine jewelry they could find. Armando was the first to wake up and realize that something was wrong. The matter only escalated when his father soon went to investigate, leading to a stabbing that Armando can’t help but feel responsible for. The recovery was swift but the feeling of unexplainable guilt was permanent, the entire night introducing a sense of panic into his life that looked to stay. As he reached his teenage years, Armando began to grow quieter and more reserved. Despite the impact of that break-in, no single event contributed to this. Instead, it was a combination of multiple issues that began manifesting all around him. He grew disillusioned with his friends and found it hard to stay on track with his studies. Guidance from his parents did very little for him. Once he approached adulthood, Armando settled into a job-to-job lifestyle, finding whatever work he could secure a position in. It is in this period of his life that he encountered rather shady characters bringing even shadier situations, but he always kept a distance, wanting no involvement. Whenever a friend or worker got hurt, he’d soon be off onto the next line of duty. This hurried state of existence brought him a sense of distrust towards most of those around him, as well as additional questions regarding the morality of society as a whole. The world got a little better not long after he began to reconnect with his family. Although he would never return to his childhood attitudes, it is through these people that he managed to break away from his quiet nature. Armando moved to Regalia in the hope of finding an answer, and although he hasn’t found it yet, he still holds onto a sense of hope that they’re out there waiting for him. He uses his family for support to get him between jobs but, for the first time in his life, he has begun to situate himself in a proper position where he can transition away from this parasitical manner of support. Although he may have not made it there yet, Armando feels that he is only a few steps away from becoming accomplished. To him, there’s little that can throw him off track.
