    House Hitchington-Burr Family History

“For the Troublesome Journey”, the famed words of Hitchington Burr Limited are well-established among the factories and workshop of the industrial district of Brispool. Known especially for their products’ resilience, the company has established itself as a staple for reliable and effective products of all sorts and types.

It was this reputation that elevated the family among their other industrious kin, amidst the bustling cities of the Heartland region. Not much is known of the family’s history, having climbed the social ladder so recently, they lack the well-kept manuscripts and folklore legacies of more established families within the Empire, only coming to notoriety in the last year after a series of clever business decisions and maneuvering. Yet a reputation was formed all the same.

Arthur Hitchington Burr acquired the company following his late father’s death, originally generating much of the family’s wealth from maintenance and manufacturing of steamtech amidst the tough markets of Brispool. Perhaps the most significant achievement in these early days was the gaining of numerous contracts for the Imperial Navy in the maintenance and repair of cannons aboard the various flagship frigates. The profits from such endevours funded the next generation of Hitchington Burr, allowing Arthur’s children to pursue outside the family business for the first time any within the house could remember, yet few did.

The development of handheld armament, as excessively costly as they were; sparked great debate between arthur and his son, Aaron. With a majority of the company being held in the possession of it’s named family, the question of resuming the family’s trade into solely steamtek was contrasted against the oncoming market development of rifling and gunworking, which the newer generation spoke many a praises of.

This feud between generations caused bitter resentment among the family, the old and the new. Yet they bided time, enrolled in universities across the Empire, and never lost track of the reason for all of it. The company stood firm in the eyes of those who were destined to take hold. When this time eventually came upon his father’s death in 310AC, Aaron immediately came to develop a new armament company, conglomerating under Hitchington Burr Industrialists Group and forming the Hitchington Burr & Co Rifling, the second company of its type in Brispool.

This marked the end of the old, and the potential of their profits soon bore fruit. Despite operating in a tiny market, the company was supported by their pre-existing expertise and sales in steamtek, allowing them to manufacture and develop their own models of longneck and pistol firearms. Quickly stealing the market in Brispool with the development of the Burr Pistol and Hitchington Two-Point Rifle, the company rose to become one of the largest non-government owned firearms producers in the Empire, though a strategy of quality assurance in reliability, and some questionable behaviour toward competition.

At the helm of the company today stands Aaron Hitchington Burr, a well-spoken man of fine education and demeanour, eager to plunder new ventures as he oversees the company headquarters’s relocation to the Empire’s capital. Accompanying him on this venture are…
