Today marks the day Nintendo finally releases its long-awaited update for the beloved game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Did I mention they promised this back in August?

Anyway, November has just started, and aside from the usual events that happen in November such as Huevember (art), NaNoWriMo (writing), or seeing the newest Disney movie called Manoa (goddammit Disney), I would like to cordically--...

Cordally? No, no, CORDIALLY...ah, screw it-

would anyone like to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf with me? If you have the game, I'll have my doors open all day for this whole week.

We will be exploring the new update such as the mini-games and the new amiibo card compatibility!
There's new furniture, new neighbors and new mini-games! Wait- I already mentioned that...

Oh hey it's the game where the kid is kidnapped by furries and forced to work for them! I think.

Ohh I adore this game and still play but my fav villager moved away and I started to grow sad over it all. I didn't know it was getting an update and I love to come visit!

I think it was one of those video game conspiracy things. It may be a creepypasta tho.

You can use your amiibo cards to bring back villagers you lost, or bring in new villagers. :) I'm hoping to bring back my favorite villager too!

Just sold my 3DS for $150 today :(

But why...

I'd love to play, I haven't started up New Leaf in such a long time, I'll probably start a new town :D

Yeah! Message me and we can exchange friendcodea when I get home.

I have AC:NL!! But....... This post was a reminder that my town is probably full of weeds and my villagers are probably angry i havent opened the game in.. nearly a year.

You should put your friend code at the top of this post. Ahh I missed this game. Still looking fab.

Wait, they still have support for New Leaf?

Shit, that game was great. I had a contact who had every item in the catalog (including the 7/11 set)
I'll think about blowing the dust off of my 3DS and play it again for this.

And now you're gonna make me get happy home designer for the items...

Am I the only one that thinks that Animal Crossing went completely downhill after Wild World? I honestly hate New Leaf so much that I haven't played more than two hours. With that said, I still love the original for gamecube as well as Wild World. Anyone else agree?

I love New Leaf because it brought back a lot of the Gamecube features in a way. Plus bigger map

Oh that... My sister used to play city folk and there was a nice cat named Lolly... She moved away...

I honestly think my sister cried on the inside.

No problem! I can always assist in cleaning your town! :)

Done! My friend code is on the first post no and available for those who'd like to visit my town!

To be honest, Happy Home Academy is only great for designing homes. You don't get to do much else. :'3 It's surprisingly unlike the familiar gameplay as all the other Animal Crossing games. I still have Happy Home because I also have a secret love for home decorating! ^_^ If you like that, then by all means you should totes give the game a shot!

I honestly think my sister cried on the inside.

That certainly is sad. :<

I do quite miss the old gamecube version of Animal crossing. Nothing beats booting up the system with the controller in your hands! A 3ds tends to be too flat sometimes.

In terms of gameplay, New Leaf retains a lot of the old gamecube features as @FireFan96 said, although now there are now more activities to do.

I'd play my gamecube version for old time's sake definitely! Nothing would ever beat the first animal crossing. <3
Thus I love the old gamecube version as well as this new update.

On a sidenote, i've started playing more now that my 3DS is fully charged. After I'm done solo-playing I'm opening up my gate to invite people in! :D

when the game first came out i used to play it often, and no matter how hard i tried, i never got tangy the orange cat and i died inside

I had her in my old gamecube game too. :o Also got her in Wild World. Never ayed City Folk for some reason, and now there's New Leaf! I think she has an amiibo card if you're set to have her in New Leaf! :D There are going to be new cards released too for newer neighbors.

It's a good thing to have kept the cards from playing Happy Home Design :'3

This post made me want to search for my 3Ds but it's no where to be found. Rip

Great! My friendcode is at the top and my gate's pretty much open! :D I was having some fun with the new Amiibo features where you can pose your amiibos and take picture with them via the 3DS camera and Augmented Reality ( AR ).

Here are some other new features that were probably mentioned in recent Animal Crossing news boards:
  • you'll be introduced to MEOW coupons, earned by doing daily tasks from your new Town Card
  • A new extension will show up on your map leading you to the drive-in camp grounds
  • People who stay at the NPC camp grounds will let you order their furniture for yourself, but only with MEOW coupons
  • After playing a few hours, play again the next day or so to find a magic talking lamp-- take it home and find a nice place to put it in order to summon Wisp, the lamp spirit! He'll "posses" someone's body when you use your amiibo of choice and give you an item.
That's it so far. I haven't ventured to the vacation island yet to check out the mini-games, which I would be happy to check out with some friends!

MY GATES ARE OPEN! :D Had to close for now

Speaking of which, Happy Home Design is also a fun game to play! For the design purposes of course! Here's the recent house I worked on!
