Do you age your characters? How long is an Alorian year? How long is an Alorian day in each continent/Alorian time zone? These are all big questions that need to be ironed out by the staff and posted. If it isn't already I am a complete idiot.

If i can choose whenever to age, i'll forever be 21 in aloria. Or perhaps start out a character and age it every day. Totes amazing.

depends on where you live IC
OOC Example: Someone from the Pacific coast and someone from the UK meet up. "What a nice day!" says the Pacific guy. Argument then ensues about that time it is in Regalia because it's nighttime for the UK man.

No what I mean't was depending on where you live IC, like maybe in Regaila it is UK or Pasific time (maybe someone should post another thread for this, I suck at writing so it isn't me)

This would be uber helpful

Time is kind of a tricky subject on Aloria. Technically it works like earth time. However things happen faster or slower or things are skipped. For example, a ship ride to another continent typically takes a week, and traveling about it takes more time. But no one is gonna wanna put their character on hiatus for a week to get to a roleplay faction or the like. Sanguine curse takes 3 days, but they're 3 in game days.

That said, we assume time works parallel to earth, but is also very malleable.

Well I did math (I know, very scary) and every 5 irl days is a year. I did this by finding how many cycles there are in a hour, then in a day, then a year, ect and so 5 days irl = a year, so hf. (This is if it follows earth's calendar )

Not sure why it would matter? It really depends on the first person or "host" to designate the time of day for the encounter. If they say good evening, then you would likely respond in regards to it being evening. Likewise, if you attend a dinner party but it is morning for you, it's still a dinner party. I've never had an instance where time was such an issue

Worse comes worse, avoid words to describe the time if you're truly unsure. Hello instead of good day. Etc. but like azas said, usually the first person to mention it sets the scene. It's like the "yes and..." Rule in improv. If something's unestablished it means it can be. @The Shadow King

that would mean we talk very slow becouse some conversation would last for years

If my shadow Mage character wants to slip through some shadows at night, how would I know it is night?

I typically like to stick to the standard 3 irl months=1 year, but its up to the character, really. Just try not to age your character 27 years in one week or something outrageous like that.
