Personality and Beliefs Alignment: Lawful Good Personality Type: ISFJ-T - ENFJ-T (Defensive Protagonist) Spoiler: Personality Expanded Aldüir is a very caring, and thoughtful man, although you wouldn't know it unless you were friends with him. He prefers to keep to himself, sitting in the back of the tavern wrapped up in his cloak. Due to his culture, Alduir is very reserved in public, coming off as almost cold and unapproachable; which is a stark contrast to the man that lives under the shell. His love for others even shows in his choice of weaponry. While most Villiers Knights are trained in the art of two handed weapons, Aldüir made his case to the instructors that he'd also like to learn how to wield a shield with a somewhat shorter sword, in order to be able to provide better protection for the people behind him. Aldüir struggles with his self worth a lot, but it's also what drives him, albeit sometimes a little too risky. He seeks approval from his elders, by living his life by the code of the Order. Selfless and Empathetic, he uses his emotions to fuel his missions, and to inspire those around him. Loyal to a fault, and he means what he says. A more common phrase you can hear him says is "My Honor is My Life." He takes things awfully personally, and won't let it show, but his self doubts and constant search to "be enough" is ultimately, his greatest weakness. Life Story Birth/Childhood (Birth - Age 8) Aldüir was born to a Villers-Eclaire Knight known as Mai-trair, and his wife Vailardennes, on September 05, 285 A.C, in the fjords of Kintyr. While his father was away, Aldüir spent his days learning basic schooling from his mother, and when his father was home, studying the order that his father had given his life to. Once he turned 7, it was decided that he would be sent to live at the monastery, and follow the same path as his father. He spent his last year preparing, and upon his 8th birthday began his journey. Youth (Age 9 - 20) Aldüir spent his first 4 years at the monastery absorbing every bit of knowledge he could about everything to do with his new life. He read every religious tome he could get his hands on, and became devoutly faithful to the Spirit, tying it into everything he did in his daily life. Due to his small size for many years, he could only wield a shorter blade during his trainings, which he became comfortable wielding with only one hand. After his 14th birthday, he was assigned as a squire to a Paladin named Rycharde Rolandus, a well known knight whose devotion to Unionism was only rivaled by his devotion to the common folk. For the next 6 years, Aldüir would spend many days with his mentor, learning all that he could about husbandry, and sharpening his skills as a cavalry rider. It was during this time period, that Aldüir cemented his fighting style as a unique blend between sword and shield, and two-handed. When asked by Rycharde why he would like to wield the shorter Accolade sword rather than the two handed Claymore, Aldüir would cite the Villier's duty of defending and caring for those who can not protect themselves. By wielding a shield with his sword, it allowed him to protect those behind him from more than just the common dagger. He also cited his calvary training, and that a shield on your off side offers more protection and stability than a two handed weapon, as you can hold onto your reins while shielded and mounted. But to find the balance between defense and offense, the Accolade sword became his weapon of choice, due to its versatility between both combat styles. While holding true to the two handed mentality of most Villiers Knights, the blade also gave Altrüir the defensive edge he enjoyed. Rycharde conceded these points, and agreeing to help Altrüir learn both styles of combat, changed their sparring lessons to allow Altrüir to learn how to fight with a sword and shield, and change combat stances mid fight, among other things. By the time Altrüir had reached the age of 20, he had become a master of both styles, and growing to his current height of 6'4, towered over most of his comrades. After evaluation, and approval of the Elders at the Monastery, Altrüir was granted the Synodical Villiers Seal, and the title of Man-At-Arms just 1 month shy of his 21'st Birthday. Adulthood (Age 21 - Present) For the last two years, Aldüir has spent his time escorting Unionist worshippers to sacred sites, protecting sacred locations, acting as a guard to priests, and defending the Concave, while undertaking small tasks here and there. The boring life as a guard has started to wear on Altrüir though, and he aspires to head to Regalia and seek new adventures and purpose in the world, and bringing his faith with him wherever he decides to go.
