When she talks, it’s just as soft as her face is, her words sounding thought out and well annunciated. Addie is generous and charitable to those who are less fortunate than herself; feeling satisfied for supporting others financially, that she deems worthy. However, it's not only people less fortunate -- right off the bat she'll offer to pay for something, whether it be a drink or something of the sort. She has a habit of parting her lips when interested in whatever a person is saying, as well as staring in an invasive way, which could also be interpreted as merely being attentive. Occasionally, a minorly sarcastic or snappy comment will come out of the young girl, usually provoked however, otherwise she would keep them to herself. ➣┗ INNER PERSPECTIVE ― Adeleide thoroughly believes in devoting herself to Unionism, believing that it will guide her through life and help her on her way. As such, it’s common to see Adeleide in prayer, or trying to memorize that one creed she just can’t get right. Adeleide is aware that she can be rather impressionable, perhaps a little naive which impacts the way that she recieves compliments, as she thinks compliments solely exist to delude her from the Great Way, and must either be ignored or taken with a grain of salt. Occasionally though, she’s known to take the compliments of important people who have proven themselves to her as ‘meaningful’ and ‘well-met’. Though, criticisms are always truthful or important as she, like most people, believes she is far from perfect. She’s began to grow worried about doubts in her faith, after arriving in Regalia. Still devoutly Unionist, she’s worried that the new religions she’s learned of might ‘tempt her’. ➣┗ ASSOCIATIONS ― Adeleide is afraid of close relations. Still afraid of the new feelings floating about in her head, she avoids growing too close to friends. Physical affection beyond the occasional pat is omitted entirely and actively avoided, speaking of her feelings to anyone but herself is also entirely avoided, and remaining heavily secretive is a common trend between Adeleide and friends. There are occasional diamonds in the rough, where Adeleide opens up to a person in particular, someone who gain her trust especially by proving their true intentions to not be of any malice, or for their own selfish gains. though these situations are few and far between. ➣┗ ETHICS ― Unionism is a religion of peace. Really! And Adeleide tries to reflect that best she can. As a medic, her job is simply helping others. No need for recognition or for fame. Though she has a streak of bias against particularly bad foes, Leonie will usually nurse everyone without fault. As a Colonial and a Unionist, she follows all Creeds to a near excessive degree (with the obvious exception of the Ninth creed) and usually avoids fighting altogether, even if she feels the need to. However, very rarely, she will snap and/or curse at someone who she deems is being out of order, such as if they're spreading falsities about her and her family or straight up insulting them to her face, however these short outbursts are followed up by soft murmurs of apology to the Spirit and Adeleide becoming quiet afterwards. ☓ { ⋞ ADOLESCENT YEARS ⋟ ✟ > Born to Maessa and Thurnolf Rote, the youngest of four; Abelhard, Leopold and Thea in the Barony of Griptham in Jarrow. ✟ > Her parents spoke to her in Skodje and Alt-Regalian and she picked both languages up pretty quickly, both of them being her first language. ✟ > Despite being a fair bit younger than her siblings, Adeleide would always offer whatever she had to whoever she was with, always insisting on sharing her stuff with others and so was dubbed “The Generous” by her family. ✟ > In her early years, she was taught how to use bows by her brother Leopold, who didn’t know much himself but tried his best nonetheless. She didn’t use the skill much — she was much more interested in other things, like reading or learning more academic subjects and music. She gained a liking for medical science and taught herself piano. ✟ > The family encouraged the children to follow the faith of Unionism. ✟ > Although she and Abelhard had such an age difference, the two were very close. Abelhard was patient with her and played with her when she asked. Solid stuff all around, but I think you can take it further in a few areas... - In Adeleide's life story, you note that she was both "dubbed 'The Generous' by her family" and "was rather popular in school... [having tried] her best to socialize and be friendly with everyone which she [continued] into her later teens and adult life", but I don't see much of this reflected in her personality paragraphs. Can you find places to elaborate on these traits further? - In her Inner Perspective paragraph, you say that "she’s known to take the compliments of important people who have proven themselves to her as ‘meaningful’ and ‘well-met’," and that "insults and criticisms are always truthful or important,". For both of these things, why? If her faith causes her to ignore praise, what is it about particularly meaningful people's compliments that causes her to put aside those convictions? Additionally, why are criticisms always important, in contrast? Does she lack self-esteem, and thus accepts these sorts of things as true? - When it comes to her Associations, Adeleide seems standoffish and reluctant to create intimate bonds with others: however, "[t]here are occasional diamonds in the rough, where Adeleide opens up to a person in particular, though these situations are few and far between,". What kinds of people are said "diamonds in the rough" to her? Are there any particular traits that appeal above all others and defy her unwillingness to form relationships? Are there any past examples from her life? - Finally, tell me about the times she does end up fighting.
