Hey! I've just today logged onto MassiveCraft for the first time, and upon arriving in the RP Lobby was entirely intimidated by all the lore and regulations of the server. With that said, I've spend about 30 minutes or more reading through the wiki and getting to know the basics, but am still kind of apprehensive on beginning anything... ;u; WELP.

I'm an incredibly shy but enthusiastic roleplayer; at first I only RPed through text and forums, but have dabbled slightly into Minecraft-based RPing in the past. Now with summer approaching, I've though about rekindling the interest and... well, here I am.

That said however I am COMPLETELY and utterly lost and friendless in this; if someone would be kind enough to hold my hand and play temporary-RP-buddy with me until I've gotten to know this server enough, I'd be eternally grateful! ;o;

EDIT: I've been reading through the other introduction threads and DAMN, I'm kinda glad to know I'm not the only one being awkward upon first joining! However it seems I should hone in on my lore skills some more... Also pretty scared for my first character, ahahah.

Greetings, welcome to MassiveCraft, it is always nice to see new people.

Hey! It can be somewhat difficult to begin rping if you don't know where to start, but there are so many nice people on Massive that would be willing to help, including myself. If you ever need help, or as you put it a temporary-rp-buddy, do not hesitate to ask!

@HydraLana Greetings to you as well! c:
@kianroo2 Thank you for the offer! I guess my biggest problem is that I can't seem to include myself in RPs; I just loiter around until an opportunity presents itself, but then it turns out everyone knows eachother, so butting in would be weird... Not to mention the different timezones issue!

I used to have that issue as well! I usually only rped with like the same 2 people consistently. The thing that allowed me to get more involved once I familiarized myself with the lore was groups. All of the various rp groups I'm in allowed me to integrate myself more into the community and to gain more opportunities for rp. Once you've got a character in mind and you know the basics of the lore, check out some of the groups located here, and see if you can find one that you like.

I dont do the whole clique-roleplay thing, I mostly just roleplay with random people. It was awkward at first but its really much more fun, just try different ways of having your character approach people, and try to avoid the whole walking up to someone and asking their name thing. Roleplaying with the same people always can get very boring.

Having your character join a guild also helps alot to get to know random people, and can help get you into actual meaningful combat roleplay, instead of the whole "Oi m8 your standing in my way" "edgy remark' "Dats it im gunna fok ya!" kind of fight.

There is definitely a bit of a hill to climb before you feel comfortable, but the best part about massive lore is that you don't need to know all of it. You can choose which parts you want to read and remain ignorant on the others.

One thing I'd suggest is just making some random character with a medieval/fantasy based skin and just sorta wander around. Pretend that you yourself are in the city, and go from there. Being amazed at the size of the city should open some opportunities, as there is a good chance you will wander someplace and find someone.
