While playing on Massivecraft, and being part of a few raids, I realized, that, this raiding system there is right now is terrible.

Right now, raiding is generally one of three things:

1. The attacking team glitches past the wall, and runs around spawnkilling people who have no clue what's going on.

2. The attacking team gets to the wall, heroically marshals their forces, and then stops as they realize that THERE IS NOT EVEN A GATE INSIDE THE WALL!

3. (The least common of the three) The attackers and defenders are shooting arrows at each other, from varying heights, as the attackers heroically attempt to build cannons and siege engines. (This is also the funnest of the three.)

In my opinion, there has to be a flag or something to capture, an endpoint, if you will. AND, we need to do something about the not opening doors thing. Because I hate to drop off a raid because of an ingame thing. I'm fine with RP reasons and things that can be explained, but for something like OPENING A DOOR?! No. Just no.

In Massivecraft, and in fact, every other PVP server, there are no heroic battles, with the defenders making a desperate last stand in the throne room, the two kings bravely marshaling their forces, as the knights form a shield wall next to the door, and the archers firing blindly out over their heads. Like you saw in the battle of Minas Tirith in LOTR.

Instead... you get... this...

D: "Give me back my diamonds! You're not even at war with us!"
A: "We are now, BWAHAHA!"
D Leader: "Attention, everyone in my faction get inside a house and close the door."
The Attackers stand there staring through the slits in the door at the defenders, who are by now whining: "It's not fair! Give me my diamonds!"
D Leader: "Haha! You didn't take the throne room! We will never surrender!"
The attackers give up and leave...

I hate moments like this. We need to do something about this.

I would recommend getting a plugin that allowed you to create soldiers or guards or something, so that it would actually feel more heroic. And allowing people to OPEN DOORS! on enemy faction land. Just a start.

I think the staff accepted a suggestion where people with higher axes skills can break down certain materials (including doors) with their axes.

Hmm, there should be a roll chance that allows you to breach the castle gate or what not. However that would likely just result in abuse but it'd be interesting. Maybe implement a plugin with a buildable battering ram

I really, really want to be able to break down doors. It just makes sense in every way, shape and form. It's a diamond axe. And a wooden door..............................................................................................................................

thing is, some people do not wish to fight, just RP, and sometimes this is their only defense against what some people would call god PvPers like Alamut whom most of their members can kill a player in 1-3 hits.
Also you called this aa PvP server. This is not true, if you ask any mod that they will say this is absolutley NOT a PvP server, it is a RP server with some PvP qualities. Hell you even have to have an RP reason to raid people now, otherwise its considered harrassment.

I think factions 2 has some stuff in it that should make raiding more balance and not stupid, but I'm not sure.

Regalia has completely revamped my view of Massivecraft. They totally upped the amount of RP (thanks, in full, to the establishment of the Crimson Inquisition). I rarely see anything about "PvP at such-and-such arena!" or any "Sign up for Such-and-such tourny on the forums!" and see more and more roleplay spreading toward the main spawn of the server. Regalia will soon be 100% RP (the noob spawn point removes 1 block of RP).

True to the previous, only not to Alamut, or any other faction. PVP in Minecraft is basically you grabbing all the best armor, and then clicking repeatedly on the other person while jumping up and down. It's not too impressive that they can kill someone if a few hits in Minecraft.

im not saying its impressive, but mcmmo makes it very hard to raid people with much higher stats than you. for example, if you personally fought kapry, and you both had lets say iron amor. you would lose everytime due to his mcmmo stats being higher than yours, and the argument "just work on your stats" dosnt really apply due to the fact IRL comes into play, not everyone has the time for that and actually want to play the game, which is RP based NOT PvP.

I hope you aren't suggesting they remove McMMO -_- That aside, I can't help but correct a comment of yours there: PVP in MC isn't just jumping and clicking, and having the best armor. You have to think strategy, use what you have. Traps, potions and archery. Everyone ALWAYS underestimates the bow. Hand me a bow with punch II and I can hold off an entire bloody army (facepalm)

Plus it would do a scrub good to have support when facing people with high Mcmmo skills. Think of highly skilled players as high-level runs in WoW, you take friends to that kind of stuff. No scrub with half a brain would try to 1v1 the Eldritch Abominations like Kapry. :P

Not necessarily. There are so many aspects involved such as tactics, communication, reaction, timing, etc. Yes combat in Minecraft at its core is very simple, however there are still those who are skilled at PVP, and those who simply are not. You can have the highest stats, and the best armor, and you can still die very easily if you do not know what you're doing.

I think adding some kind of lock-picking plugin would stop people from hiding behind a door.
That kind of feature might be abused though.
