This letter did not seem to contain anything really remarkable, almost too mundane for some, bearing only the symbol of the annual Alorian solar eclipse in its corner. Nevertheless, this banal letter spread quickly throughout the city, sometimes being found by the highest aristocrats through one of their personal couriers, by the common people through notices, or even by the lowest members of society by how they usually get their news.
Yet, when someone took the time to read them, it became clear that perhaps these letters were not so mundane after all. The written words changed to fit the reader's primary language, or for those who could not read, the letter was read aloud by a voice only they could hear.
One thing was clear, this was magic, and someone had obviously spared no effort in spreading the following message.
I greet the people of Regalian Isle,
It is my honor to act in this duty and spread this message for all to hear. Regardless of their social and economic status, for all has a benefit, even if certain authorities would strongly disagree, and is open to contribute to it. We do not discriminate, whether you are Cahal, Sanguine, Geist, Undead, Bralona or just an ordinary Ailor. However, enough of the prefaces.
I hereby formally declare the presence of The Society of the last Dusk and its reach to you, reader. Yes, you. We are looking for any person willing to send us information. On the other hand, we are able to offer our own information, support, regals and whatever else you may wish or dream of.
However, I want to make it clear that active betrayal, falsification of information, and other fraud will result not only in expulsion, but also in termination and appropriate punishment for the offense.
We extend a hand to all those who wish to take it, without forgetting the nature of man, regardless of race. Everyone has free will, so everyone can cheat. Use that free will to make the rational decision not to betray those who are in the information business.
If there are any religious or cultural issues, consider this and perhaps see it as a trade. Information for information or your own enrichment. We don't care if you worship unionist gods, Old Gods, the dragon Nox or other dragons, ancient pagan beliefs, the list goes on, even Void Worship, Ordial Cultism and what else is out there. Just remember that your gods, holy as they may be, cannot save you from yourselves if you betray us. To sum this up, a word of caution: do not betray us. Whatever the reason, you will reap only benefits with us than without us, or worse, against us.
Now that the formalities are settled. I declare the season open for all applicants.
Those who wish to join can do so either alone or in small groups and need to do only one thing.
Find sufficient important information about another group or person about their ongoing activities and send it to us. If it is your own group, you will be disqualified as we suspect bias in such information. Once you have gathered this information and included contact information for yourself or a representative of your group, select a courier of your choice and return it to us with the code word "The Cycle Never Ends" for us to receive. You will be informed of our decision and the protocols of further communication.
Signed,
Daring Sunshine

I decided to start a merry information gathering group since I personally can't be everywhere and also know what some people like to do: real spy shit. Although, as rp works, there is a need for secrecy both IC and OOC on this. Something some may be familiar with from the player run Black Hand branch through the Mistress of Secrets two years ago.
As mentioned before, if your character is scouted, talking about it in any way OOC or IC (if I find out about it, which I will) will result in immediate ejection. No buts or ifs. This also applies (but not limited to) Discord, OOC chat, DMs, etc. If there is someone you trust to talk to about it, that is your right. However, if it gets in any way that might influence people or lead to subconscious meta, the same thing happens. This includes (but is not limited to) talking about it before applying, or talking about what you spy on/do in RP that way.
While spy/traitor/double agent RP can be fun, I would caution anyone thinking about it in advance. Most things discovered in this role will be discovered by you. This will not be a role where you just get a bunch of information to leak. You're going to have to find it yourself. Although people may ask for some compensation for their efforts, such as for information others have gathered (within reason) or for deep lore, there is a certain amount of trust. Should it be discovered that you are obviously feeding fake information to the whole group, this will result in an appropriate reaction, as it may spoil the fun for some.
So technically you are allowed to do this, but be aware of the IC consequences and the perhaps short-lived nature of it.
And finally, your character doesn't have to be a rogue or have certain proficiencies. As long as they provide trustworthy information and don't try to stab the group in the back, no one will mind. For example, you could be a house guard who wants to make some extra money, or hates a certain rival family, etc.
To get in touch with me and send me the information I need for the application, just send me a DM via the forum in the style of an IC letter.
