The massivecraft server is very entertaining and well made, Its RPG style it gives me fond memories and vibes of The Elder Scrolls series. Especially that of Morrowind. But a thought that crossed my mind is, could the armor differ depending on the tier you have equipped? People will only equip leather if they dye it for fun purposes, or if they were to find it. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to implement extra dodge chance to such armor? Not so much to where anybody would think premium isn't worth the diamond armor, but to where leather armor would be fun to wear on hunting trips, or in arenas. Its just a thought that could spark up more thoughts, such as daggers or, medium armor and stuff.

TLDR; It would be interesting and fun if roleplaying as a rogue/hermit were more possible

I do like the idea of having certain types of armor give the users little perks... leather - less damage from mobs? Chain Mail - scare away creepers (with the noise), Iron Armor - Resistance to axes? Gold Armor - negates effects of sunlight on vampires(while making them an obvious target lol)? Diamond Armor - No Perks, its beastly already.

Mech, the only thing wrong with that is that somebody could wear a leather helmet, iron chestplate, chainmail pants, and gold boots, and get the perks from each. If they make it that you would have to wear the WHOLE set to get the perks, then that would work.
Also, if they can make it so that the armor CANT be enchanted, then it wouldnt be to OP.

I would love gold armor even more than I already do. Yu saw me in my awesome gold suit the other day Mech.

It would have to be similar to the vampire irradiation reduction. A percentage, like this:
Helmet: 5%
Chestplate: 15%
Leggings: 10%
Boots: 5%
__________
35% reduced

35% reduced damage from mobs
35% chance of scaring away creepers while moving
35% reduced axe damage
35% reduced irradiation for vampires

Maybe Gold armor enchanted with Fire Protection IV can completely protect vampires from the sun.

I think the armor skills would be pretty cool! I think it would be amazing if you could level up your armor skills, but not so much to the point where you're TOO tanky. Just small perks. Not life gain or armor gain for lvl 200 Heavy Armor, but more like you lose less hunger from carrying all the armor. Premium would keep its benefit with diamond because heavy armor would apply to Iron and Diamond. Not being too specific but I think you understand my point cx This server brings great variety, but maybe it could bring a bit more?

Also, a bit off topic, but I think Alchemy/Brewing should have its own skill tree. Its one of my favorite hobbies.

The only thing I will say on this, is I would like the gold armour because with a wooden axe not only would you whack a vampire out of the air while they bloodlust like noobs, but you'd smash their armour in 1-3 hits aswell with a high axe level.

I love this idea! this may be pushing it too much but baybe even different colors have different affects.. Black leather hides player name tag or something. Or white or yellow negates vampire sun damage. But regardless, a slight chance of dodging blows with leather sounds great. but then naked people would maybe have to have an even better chance to dodge?

Black leather hides player name tag or something.

So much this.

I've been hoping for a plugin or something which hides the name tag (Unless you die, then the enemy will be told) it makes bandits (or spies snooping around faction bases) more threatening because you don't know who they are... they could be anyone.

It would be nice if they have the name tag hidden while in black leather but when/if you kill them a message pops up and says something like "Player identified as XXXXX"

They could even be... someone who is on your team. -_-

hmmm the dye idea to the leather armor seems very helpful since leather can be rarer than gold sometimes.

In my first message, i mentioned a dagger, and it could be simple to implement.

The recipe could be the same as a sword, without the 2nd diamond. So its just a "diamond on a stick"

The dagger would do noticably less damage than the sword, but has chances to attack twice. If you backstab them, while holding shift, they drop their weapon.
The right click hold could cloak you for a very short duration? It could be called smokescreen

not sure they could add a dagger to the game unless it is just a sword that deals less damage...

I can understand that reasoning. It would have to be mod to tamper with the item appearance and stuff, but i'm sure its all do-able. You could also make your own icon for such an item, if you were to create the dagger as a real item with an ID

Gold Armor isn't any good for combat, its too easily damaged by... well, just about everything. However, it would make the daytime lives of vampires considerably easier I think, and would make it easier to target them. As for axes... axes are an OP problem all themselves and aren't relevant to this thread I think.

A note on my idea is that these effects only work if you're wearing the full set. You can't mix-n-match. Enchantments are fully allowed in my idea, as you can already get god-level enchants on armor, so it matters little if that armor has an extra boost from it simply existing.

Your idea doesn't conflict with anything in my opinion. I'm a fan of the armor variety idea, assuming it would make it purposeful for different scenarios. Diamond could be for raiding, and fighting, but nobody wants to break their diamond from monsters. So it would make sense to go out hunting in a less impressive outfit.
