A Faith Reborn.

Warrane gazed out among the crowds, praying with all who'd gathered to spectate the Emperor's great announcement. His eyes followed the Emperor's removal of his fine wears until he looked much alike a commoner compared to the rest of the peerage. A man he looked up to, stripped of his once glorious title
only to become alike the rest of the rabble that was the peerage.

As the ghosts appeared, his jaw almost dropped. For but a moment he seemed to stammer and gag as he murmured to his cousin something to do with the dead rising from the grave and the Spirit's immense power, he'd always been a devout Unionist and now was the time to put his faith to the test. As stunned as he was, he returned to his prayer, listening to the voices of the apparitions that appeared before him and trying to hear any falters in their tones. His knuckles turned white as his hands clasped firmly together and he shook slightly, shivering at the thought of these once great Emperors being able to simply raise as if from slumber.

His face displayed something of horror, he was so afraid and unknowing as to what was going on. He couldn't possibly understand how this was happening and it frightened him, without explanation or cause they simply rose to provide those who served the Empire in what ways they could with the knowledge that the Emperor was to be no longer considered the vessel of the Spirit and that the Spirit resided in all of them. His eyes rose once again, his hands parting to wipe away a bead of sweat that so carefully rested upon his brow. He glanced his cousins who were all praying along with the crowds, wondering if they too knew what was going on.

Hearing shouts from the commoners, slander towards this 'cheap trick' and that it was disrespectful to the dead. Some even called it manipulation, that Cedromar was under a spell and nobody knew it. Warrane truly knew that the time had come for change, in his life he had always served faithfully and with honour in hopes that he would one day see a miracle like this. Today was that day.

After the announcement, Warrane headed home with his family. His heavy boots made the floorboards creak and downstairs he could hear the merriment from the servants and other assorted house staff, nobody would've expected it. He walked straight through the lounge and to his bedroom, collapsing unto his bed as he stared aimlessly at the roof, a sinking, empty feeling in his stomach told him that what the commoners were saying was true. Still, he was relieved to have seen it with his own eyes, not truly knowing what life would be like without the Emperor to keep watch over the city.

His mind raced with ideas of the capitol falling due to the lack of preparedness from the Noble Houses that were now to take charge of matters in the city, politics were never his strong point and he certainly knew that many members of the peerage couldn't run the city if they tried. Perhaps it was fear, perhaps it was the idea that he might not have been as faithful as he thought he was. All he knew was that this was the beginning of a new chapter for the faith, good or bad. He knew he had to get through it and wondered what may happen in the days to come.
