Identical fliers would appear throughout the city, fresh from the Regal Gazette printing presses, yet these fliers were no newspapers.

"I am not fond of drawn out declarations, so here's something short and to the point. House Vis-Vegcht has entered a contract of bannership under the House Du Pont, which will last until House Vis Vegcht is able to become a count. -Edmond Vis-Vegcht,"

HOUSE VIS VEGCHT IS A DU PONT BANNERMAN UNTIL ABLE TO ATTAIN THE TITLE OF COUNT.

Jamie studied the proclamation in silence, reading over the text time and time again. Suddenly, a thought scratched at the back of his mind, drawing his lips into a frown. Was that the du Pont's ploy? To set an unattainable goal for their bannermen?

"I'd best speak to Edmond."

"I thought he was a Ravenstad vassal?" The young girl commented to her father as she read to him the daily announcements, both brows rising in unison.

"Let's just hope his lands have a good defence."

The Howlester Grand Archduke was the muse of his castle that evening, reading the announcement. Even at dinner he was reciting his newest piece of humoured poetry.

"There once was a man named Vis-Vegcht,
Who clearly did not care for his neck,
He betrayed his liegelord,
Which he nay could afford,
and soon his whole House'll be wrecked
"

The man felt himself grinning, folding up the parchment it was written on and tucking it away into his pocket.

"Ain't nothing worse than a dirty, dishonourable oathbreaker"
